Great fight! I've netted many a 20 plus Chinook from my Hobie Outback and I've never had to side saddle my kayak. Not the safest thing to do but if that's your method fish on! Just be careful it doesn't dive and pull you over! Awesome fish! Congrats
Awesome catch man! Hope to see you out there. I'll be in the Big Fish 103 by 3 Waters. Can I ask, was this in August. Just got stationed here last July and didn't get a chance to hit the salmon run. except for Chum later.
Awesome job sir! I fish out of a Hobie as well, PA14. Just move to WA, going to fish for Salmon when I get a chance. Can you explain your setup, rod, reel, line and hook etc..?
Can you explain the herring rig a bit more? Looks like a single hook through the mandible then back into the head above the eye socket? Is the other hook just free hanging in the back? What causes the spin in this rig? Great videso!
Yes. Yes. The way the hook is positioned, pulling the rig through water; the head causes friction and imparts the spin. Hard to explain, so just set it up and watch it as you drag it through the water. Thanks for watching.
I went out to skunk bay/point no point today fishing and only saw 1 salmon caught around 3pm and left like at 7 because the it was slack tide and the flounder stopped biting.
This is a complex place to fish with or without a fish finder. He makes it look easy, but there are crazy currents with changing tides, and seaweed everywhere.
Excellent video! Suspenseful music and everything. A lot of people don’t realize how hard it is to net one solo on a kayak. Great job!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
It was so nice to see you at point no point today. I am learning a lot from your RUclips. Thanks!!
@OneChat - It was good to meet you. Thanks for watching my videos.
Thanks for the video! Thinking about going out for blackmouth in a bit and will probably try to mooch.
Bravo! Nice documentation of my favorite way to catch salmon.
Approval from the master moocher! 👍
Thanks, Mark.
That's the great thing about the Hobie Miragedrive....you can put it in reverse, and can help you gain control of and fight a fish.
Hi, good to meet you! I was the other Kayaker on Shilshole bay this week and we have been fishing the same time.
Nice meeting you, Bing.
Really enjoyed the video, thanks! And thanks for showing how you had your bait rigged and what depth, etc. Very helpful.
I appreciate your comments. Thanks for watching. 👍
nice one! I'm hoping to get my first chinook from a kayak this summer, mine is a sit inside kayak. keep the videos coming.
You can do it!
Love the video, netting it is crazy. Nice meeting you at Shilshole yesterday! See you out there again. Jon
Nice to meet you too, Jon. See you there!
That looked like an epic battle! Nicely Done
Thanks, bro. It was a fun tug-o'-war.
I like your style and mooching is so much funner and sporty than starting at a rod tip trolling=boring.
Yes, I agree about mooching. Thanks for watching!

Epic job handling that fish from a kayak in traffic and current! I think I fished next to you there in the last week or so from my Parker.
👍 Thanks for watching.
Man nice job... Those kayaks are so impressive
Thanks!
Excellent video!! Well-done...
Thank you. I appreciate your comment. Thanks for watching.
Great work as usual!! 🎣👍
Thanks, C.

It was in July. Say hi if you see me out there. I'll do the same.
@@PixsterTime Where do you get your Herring at
@Outdoor Product Review - Outdoor Emporium in Seattle or Sportco in Fife (North of Tacoma). I usually use "green label" (size) herring.
Awesome job sir! I fish out of a Hobie as well, PA14. Just move to WA, going to fish for Salmon when I get a chance. Can you explain your setup, rod, reel, line and hook etc..?
Rod: Lamiglas G1308-T
Reel: Okuma CW-354DLX
Line: Izorline Platinum mono (main - 20lb, leader - 12lb)
Hooks: Owner barbless no escape 3/0 (2 hook mooching setup)
Weight: 4oz cannonball on a slider
@@PixsterTime Thank you so very much for giving me your setup.

Great video! What type of reel is that you are using? Hard to find good line counters in left hand retrieves
Okuma Cold Water Low Profile 354
Amazing fish and great technique!
Is that Point Robertson?
Glad you liked it! It's Point-No-Point.
Wow! Very nice sir!
Thanks.
I had an Outback and did not know you can out the drive in reverse. What year is that boat. Mine was maybe 2013.
@Stephan Rothman - I think the reverse feature was first introduced in 2017 Hobie kayaks.
Awesome video thanks!
Glad you liked it!
What kind of knot did you use to your hook. It looked interesting.
@Outdoor Science Dad - egg loop knot.
Great video !
Thanks!
That's a beauty...
Great video! Thanks for that.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Is there a Chinook season?
Heading out for pinks and silvers this year?
Of course! 🎣🎣🎣
How about you?
@@PixsterTime I will do my best to get out there as much as possible!

@Tiffany Welton - thanks for the report.
epic
I would never use a fish finder. So cheating and takes the technique and fun out of it. Feels un-sportsman like. but hey great video nice fish
Thanks for watching.
