Thank you walaashay

Hey hope you are doing well. I was wondering, would teaching us about the Somali names of the different types of milk a challenge you can take on sometime? For example: Fadhi (I think yogurt or similar type of milk), dye (maybe regular milk), garoor, suusac, baarax (I think watered down milk), etc. Anyone who knows and can add to this list, feel free to help in the comment section too.
How can "Iyada" mean both "she/her" and "they/them"? That doesn't seem right to me, and the way you wrote it seems confusing. Which word(s) mean the translation you provided? From Learn101.org (learn Somali) it says "aniga = I" "ani = me". I am not sure what the deal with "ana" is, though I think I've only used it in the form of a question such as "me? = ana?" "Ana" and "Ani" seem to me the same word that's used in different contexts. What are your thoughts?
@@comelearnsomali4511 Iyaada or ayada both words has same meaning and it means she. Aniga, Ani or anaa means I,and I use all three as I no difference. I am from Muqdisho
@@comelearnsomali4511 Aniga and Ani are basically the same and mean 'I' the only difference being the -ga article for emphasis. But those two act more like a name than a pronoun, what I mean is that you don't need to use them in most contexts. "Aan" is the dominant clitic subject pronoun often used. For example "w-aan cunay - I ate" "shalay mark-aan baxayey, b-aan ku arkay - I saw you when I was going out yesterday" and so on. To say 'me' however, there are 2 other object pronouns in somali, 'i' and 'kay'. Examples are "hab i sii - give me a hug" "i-la hadal - talk to/with me" 'Kay' is the least used here. Still its correct use is ambiguous to me. But examples are "is kay bar - introduce yourself to me" "iska kay daa' - leave me alone" Most of Somali pronouns have these forms but no one cares about them anymore.
@@user-fi7mb6nm5o I understand about the "drop" of the pronouns in most of the* situations by using "pronoun helpers" instead. Though I was still curious about the the pronouns themselves. I didn't think of i meaning "me", as well as "iskay bar" those are ininteresting points. I probably would not even had idea how to translate "introduce yourself to me", so thanks. I'd usually opt for "Let's (get to) know each other" > "aan is barano." My Somali spelling is a work in progress.
Waa is the opposite of the word (Not) and since there is no antonym for the word (Not) in English, the closest translation of (Waa) is (Indeed, or the fact of the matter is or a situation exists, or something is true) . Interesting! My family says idinka/isaga instead of adinka/asaga, is that a dialect thing?
Yes, I have seen people say (Isaga/Asaga/Usuga) but Idinka/Isaga are mostly used!
in Djibouti we say idinka, iyada, idinka, isaga.
Amazing, u are the best teacher ever, I'm now starting to enjoy learning Somali, thanks soo much.
