For example trucks that would allow us to haul more items, or towing trucks that would allow us to move cars out of the roads to allow for easier commute across the map, or plowing trucks to allow us to move trees and boulders from the roads. 2. Animals. Regular and zombified. Maybe some that we can domesticate. 3. Better multiplayer experience, because right now it lags like crazy. 4. We don't want zombies to appear out of nowhere right in front of us. Especially bloaters when we are driving. 5. Improved base customization and the ability to set our base in more locations. There is literally a barricaded mall as a base, yet we can't make another mall barricaded? Why not? 6. Smarter NPCs, that know how to use items and run away from zombies and avoid hordes. This is most applicable for traders that you can summon to your base. 7. The ability store more influence, because one fully developed outpost can take 3K, and you are capped to 10K, so moving a map is a pain. 8. Explosions that go through walls is a nice way to demolish a heart (I'm talking about drone strikes), but it should not be like that 9. Have the ability to actively use the other survivors for scouting selected locations, looting selected location, potentially performing other actions, like laying mines, picking up some loot that I've left for them, refueling/repairing or even driving a vehicle from point A to B, temporary boosting outposts at the cost them physically being at the outpost, etc. 10. See the enclaves move, meet maybe another survivor from another enclave out and about scavenging or looking for a vehicle or whatever. 11. Automate tasks instead of micro management. I want to seed my farm, all the time, automatically at cost of labor, each time the seeds expire I want it to re-seed. I also want to have similar behavior for my command post for broadcasting, and for my Antenna outpost to disrupt signal so I don't wake up all the plague hearts by destroying one, etc.
I can't read the whole list right now, I'll check the rest when I get off work, but from what I read so far, the tow trucks sound like an amazing idea! Id loveeee to clear the roads
After reading the entire list, i agree with all of them! I vaguely remember there being an option in the first game, to use a radio command to have a different member of your community come and collect a rucksack from whatever building your in. I may be misremembering it, but if im not, i wish they didnt take that feature out for the sequel!
I’d like to see the ability to expand the base or add additional build sites. The fact we can build on the second level of the bridge base but not the roof of the barricaded strip mall blows my mind. Similar to another comment, caping resources and experience makes sense but expand it a bit. For example, the drive in theatre could be expanding by repairing/expanding one of the walls and allowing additional building sites for x amount of experience and building materials.
Drone strikes should get more powerful not less, i was in the army, infantry specifically, one drone can easily carry four 500 pound bombs, 2000 pounds of explosives landing on one target is essentially ctrl alt del..... Lmfao drone strikes are actually nerfed in this game, along with 357 and 44 mag guns.... 357 can pierce an engine block and 44 is just the little brother of the 50 cal lmfao the devs do not know their firearms OR nerfed them on purpose
1. Mark poi/threats with the aim function instead of climbing a tower. 2. A sleep till dawn function, with potential interruptions due to events or infesting hordes. 3. Ferals can climb anything the player can 4. Bigger gas tanks, gas cans can still have a splash of fuel 5. Ability to turn off the idle radio chitchat 6. Ability to have faster x-y axis aiming on consoles 7. Smart active enclaves 8. Intelligent or semi-controllable NPC AI 9. Better directional headphone sounds 10. Deeper lakes and water hazards that cars have to be recovered from or will eventually reappear at a shore 11. Bigger safe area surrounding character that zombies can't spawn in
I want to see an actual city with more than the first floor able to be accessed. I want to see hostile enclaves appear in the middle of the street and some defenseless survivor in trouble. I envision this like they don't notice our presence unless we decided to let our presence be known. The survivor could then have 1 of 2 routes. Join with you as his friends were already killed off or help them claim a nearby house as their base. I want to see roaming vehicles with hostile enclaves in them who are "searching" for the player to start a beef. They don't need to shoot on site but maybe give a verbal altercation with the player which intensifies. I want better AI for friendlies who are "following" me around so I can actually feel like I have a teammate with me in solo play. The current ones feel like more of a burden or a distraction and usually just die in higher difficulties. I want certain areas of the map to host more dangerous "special" zombies while other areas of the map have less conflict. For instance a rural area can maybe have a pack of ferals running around and less chance for a jug to spawn. And in depths of the city we could have screamers moving the hordes around and jugs defending high risk high reward areas. Obviously ferals can still be in the city but I'm just saying the population of zombies should make sense for where they are geographically. Maybe man holes can be opened and we can find alligators eating the rotting corpses and less fortunate zombies and/or players who find themselves traversing this underground passage. So many ideas for zombie games as I am a hardcore fan of not just state of decay but zombie games in general. I cannot wait for this to come out. I'm grabbing it day 1 even if it cost $100
Number 1 is better relationships between survivors. They can become best friends or start relationships. If one dies the other one gets permanent negative traits for being stressed
We need better enclaves both good and bad. But more to that they should be themed. Like cannibals looters zombie wranglers ex military cults since animals are going to be introduced hunters and farmer camps. But more importantly these groups will start at the same time you do and will occupy bases and be able to create their own outposts. This would make alliances very important as they can be very beneficial and it would make hostile groups more threatening. It also would make taking over a base a strategic decision do you destroy an ally to gain a better base or integrate their community into yours. I also want the community size to be above 20 people. As for the maps I like the system in sod2 so I would suggest having multiple maps you can jump back and forth through making scavenger runs able to travel into other counties making the risk reward system better as these regions would have their own enclaves engaging in their own brand of survival and you may even attract the attention of a group that you aren't prepared for.
What about an evolving map? Maps that change or become resupplied or visually changed after other groups occupied the area and created a new base. Also what about the ability to clear a map halting zombie respawns. You can clear an area then new zombies show up in the middle, where did they come from
@@ScrubbyGames well i was thinking more like additional bases that could pop in after the area was occupied or weapon cashes. It would load next play time or when the area is loaded when you get close to it, not like actively changing as you watch. I dont think any additional processing is needed.
This is more about QOL but I want cars to have a number for current and maximum Fuel and Durability. I don't mind if you have to hold the scavenge button to 'inspect' the vehicle but too often I am left wondering if I should take that toolkit or if I should use that gas can before heading out. Yes, I know it shows a bar for fuel right now, and how much it will recover, but different cars have different maximums, and I don't know how much a fuel can will restore, and how much is 'wasted' if it goes over the maximum. Another a nice QOL update would be displaying the stats for vehicles before/after upgrades - I know it's an 'upgrade' but we're essentially replacing our current car for a new one.
Number one for me is shared coop allow ppl to either share a base or have separate bases on the same map you could either jack the difficulty or u could go to war with each other if u want a little role play
10: I would want some kind of mechanic , which creates nicknames for your characters based on what they achieved. And each of those nicknames should come with a new trait. I want to see people, who maybe survive and don't turn due to blood plague, become blood plague suvivors. 4: Enclaves should consume resources around them, to make it a proper trade off, when you want them to stay for their bonus. In the same matter, they should give you a dramatic game changing bonus on the level of curveballs. I want to be able to buy those collected resources from those enclaves, pay them for harvesting for me. And they should consume resources themself, so there is a natural need to ask you for help and then reward you properly for giving them those resources. Make less enclaves, but make them more impactfull, so that you maybe encounter 3-4 of those on the map, but each one is a fully fledged out community, living in their own proper base, which you can raid or support. When allied you should have access to their storage, purchase weapons, items and resources, they gathered from buildings around them. Everything else I agree 100% with
To be honest i would be overly disappointed if that happened, I love the simplicity of the car system in state of decay. I think keys would be okay, but swapping out car parts would be too much (for me). It's funny you mentioned this though because in another video of mine I compare the two games in regards to the vehicles. Thanks for the comment!
all the things we need Bigger map/a city map wouldnt hurt Bigger bases better relationship systems traveling npcs ,friendly/hostile more randome people just around the map radio friendly enclaves for food/help ect weather hunting wildlife much better graphics character name, physical appearance custimization base population to 20 enlist up to 5 people outpost fast travel
Haven't finished the video so it could be in here but id love the ability to have a more enhanced health system like needing to search gas stations for water and food or a grocery store pharmacy for antibiotics.
Maybe not name changing but nickname sure, I would love customization like project zomboid prior to start... but changing anything like name or face or traits post start is a stretch
Agreed, I don't think changing characters face or traits post start would be a good idea, but changing your starting 3 characters names should be necessary, not the folks you recruit along the way, I should've mentioned that specifically in the video. Thanks for the comment!
Sounds like you want a hole new franchise. I like sod 1 and 2. They are magic. I think undead should stick 2 what they do best and produce another great game.
I think the only one thats a bit of stretch would be the new look, and maybe seeing enclaves out in the world doing things, other than that the rest seem like standard upgrades for a 3rd game of a series imo, but thanks for the comment!
Decent list but missing a few things, first off they'll never let you add your own name to anything because you know what people are going to start naming stuff, and that is coming from the developers they're very against the modding side of State of decay, it's very disappointing, 90% of the features that are in stated decay2 came from mods so they need to embrace not run off but that's their business I always enjoy when modders do better than the developer But back on point, what State of decay needs was their original plan for State of decay 2, Open world story with players taking over friendly communities when you play, so that each player that joins a map is not a part of your community they have their own, to manage build and defend, just like you do in the single player and the game now, That's where the game needs to move to, and then also a free mode where you can adjust the sliders of different enemy types, turn on turn off as you like to create your own zombie world so everyone's happy, I do love the customization options you added those would make a nice addition just be prepared if all this does get added need a lot of space to store 60 120 gigabytes of space if we get everything we ask for And stay with the cartoony style it adds heart to the game cuz who cares that it looks like an Xbox game when it runs on PC better
most of your features suggestion was more on aesthetics but i agreed on the story they should give us more story to progress and pursue in the game heartland was very very short in my opinion after the plague wall its done it didnt even take me 5 hours to finish it. i want to see more ingame features more on mechanics like what the SOD 3 trailer shows i think we will be fighting zombie animals too thats sick i want that plague hearts for zombie animals as an addition to make the game more engaging. about #4 Friendly enclaves SOD1 i think have better mechanics like what u want they do travel around the map on their own and creating new encounters for you and pop up a quest also if u leave them while on a hoard even if ur so far away u will hear them in the radio cursing you from leaving them and u will see their icon moving hands that needs for help until they die and u will fail the mission they have it on the 1st game idk why they removed it on the 2nd one maybe bcoz they add a hostile mode bcoz on the first one theres no hostile enclaves.
Man it's wild how much I forgot about the first game when I put an insane amount of hours into it. I'm STOKED for the animals in SoD3, it's going to open so much more gameplay, with the core game and then with mods afterwards. Thanks for the comment!
I think most things on this list remove the randomness of finding survivors that you like. I think the character pool should just be bigger rather than allowing you to customise all your survivors.
@@ScrubbyGames I mean I definitely love the randomness of the game characters. I do think you should be able to give your characters nicknames though. I 100% think the potential voices for the characters as well as the character pool should be bigger, think there should be more options for clothing and possibly hairstyles too. That way it's less of an apocalyptic sims like game and more of a random chance survival game.
I would personally love to see a more in depth healing system. If I get shot dead center of the chest, I shouldn’t be able to just slap a bandaid on it but instead having to treat it with specific medical supplies. For example, a common injury with a penetrating chest would is a sucking chest wound, which left untreated will kill you. Realistically we see chest seals and decompression needles are used to treat sucking chest wounds temporarily until they get to a doctor. This feature would probably be a buzz kill for a lot of casual players but it would definitely make encountering hostile survivors more interesting than just running in with a gun and outdamaging/headshotting them. I also think a grid based inventory system would be cool, something similar to Resident Evil 4.
That healing system wouldnt work, not in this game, cuz then we would have our survivors be out for months in game, and it aint tarkov...... I much prefer simple healing systems, especially when survivors have such high injury chances already, not every survivor has unbreakable
@@themanwithnoname1839 well I didn’t say it had to be realistic recovery times. Just like needing more than just a bandage to heal a gunshot wound depending on the part of the body you were shot in. If you played Gray Zone Warfare it has a pretty good example of the healing. It would work just fine.
We need body armor bruh that would be perfect at least add some type of armor like apocalyptic or swat armors and add a durability level on it so it won't be op
Yeah no doubt. At the end of the day this is just a "wish" - list, but with the next game being the 3rd game in the series, they really should start taking bigger leaps in advancement. We'll just have to see how it goes, but I'll keep wishing :) the perfect zombie game will get made eventually! Lol
1. NO FUCKING BANGERNOMICS 2. Content be added later on rather than clothes 3. No more armored zekes being able to take 15 44 mag shots to the face..... 4. More trunk space, youre telling me the giant ass bed of this truck only holds nine fuckin items???? 5. Weapons NOT breaking after just 100 shots when in reality it takes THOUSANDS to break a gun..... 6. Heavy weapons actually be useful, cuz right now their slow ass swing speed is pathetic, especially for dudes who are red talon and in prime physical shape..... 7. Being able to vastly upgrade cars, superchargers, more armor, and zombies NOT be able to rip the fuckin door off of a car that is so armored a juggernaut has a hard time breaking it.....
No, thankfully that ended up being a false rumor! Speculation now is late 2024 or 2025 instead, which is way more ideal Lol. Welcome to State of Decay, if you ever have any questions feel free to reach out to me either here or in my discord!
I might be in the minority, but, I never liked my characters to look out of place in games. And this goes back to PS2 days and having funny/goofy characters you could unlock with cheat codes. I never used those either
I have a comment. Nothing against black characters, but I found it hard in 2 to play as them when it is always dark especially when they All wear dark clothing with no options for brightness.
I have a hard seeing any of the characters in the dark, there's a real unbalanced with the way the game shows night time. It's either wayyy too dark, or not dark enough, no middle ground
Yeah to each their own. I went back and played YOSE a month ago and it doesn't hold a candle to SoD2, imo. It has a decent story sure, but SoD2 is better in almost every way other than that. And the decent story isn't good enough to make me play the version with inferior mechanics and graphics
i stopped at number 8, if you're suggesting to be able to free build however you want then you don't want to play SoD series, go play 7 days to die or some other sandbox game. The static bases is much better gameplay design and unique to the zombie genre.
Hey folks, thanks for watching! If you have any other ideas i left out leave a comment below! :)
Also, be sure to tune in each week going forward for a new upload!
Nice list, I agree regarding the base and the enclaves, and the stories.
As for the rest here is my list -
1. Special purpose vehicles.

7. The ability store more influence, because one fully developed outpost can take 3K, and you are capped to 10K, so moving a map is a pain.
8. Explosions that go through walls is a nice way to demolish a heart (I'm talking about drone strikes), but it should not be like that
We need a simple dot crosshair PLEASE MAKE A SIMPLE DOT CROSSHAIR 🙏
We need body armor bruh that would be perfect at least add some type of armor like apocalyptic or swat armors and add a durability level on it so it won't be op
More survivors then 11 already at least 15 to 20
Yessss id love a bigger community, that would be so sick. Would feel more like a thriving community than a small cluster of people
It would be cool to see your members using some of your outposts in across the map.
Oh yeah that would be cool, like having certain members stationed at certain outposts. Good idea!
This sounds good and all but like how would they be able to do all of this? It sounds like it would be very complicated to be able to do all of this
Yeah no doubt. At the end of the day this is just a "wish" - list, but with the next game being the 3rd game in the series, they really should start taking bigger leaps in advancement. We'll just have to see how it goes, but I'll keep wishing :) the perfect zombie game will get made eventually! Lol
We should be able to fight other communities online
I would love a better scaling difficulty for the game, once you beat Lethal there ain't much left to do.
Yeah some kind of difficulty that scales progressively as you advance in people and standing would be sick
1. NO FUCKING BANGERNOMICS
2. Content be added later on rather than clothes
7. Being able to vastly upgrade cars, superchargers, more armor, and zombies NOT be able to rip the fuckin door off of a car that is so armored a juggernaut has a hard time breaking it.....
we need to hunt for food :)
With the wildlife coming that's a pretty good bet that hunting will also be included, at least I hope so!
Is it true that Sod3 will be released in 2027? I’ve never played sod1 in just started playing sod3 its really good im learning as i go
No, thankfully that ended up being a false rumor! Speculation now is late 2024 or 2025 instead, which is way more ideal Lol. Welcome to State of Decay, if you ever have any questions feel free to reach out to me either here or in my discord!
@@ScrubbyGames hopefully 2024 before gta6 haa
@@nemesis8140 lol right!

You can change that by mods

customisation is the way to keep players glued to the screen. Bounties and Customisation. And ultra rare weapons with 0.1% drop rate.
Yes!!
How about unlockable costumes and dlc costumes? How cool would it be to fight in a King Arthur suit or Iron Man?
I might be in the minority, but, I never liked my characters to look out of place in games. And this goes back to PS2 days and having funny/goofy characters you could unlock with cheat codes. I never used those either
I have a comment. Nothing against black characters, but I found it hard in 2 to play as them when it is always dark especially when they All wear dark clothing with no options for brightness.
I have a hard seeing any of the characters in the dark, there's a real unbalanced with the way the game shows night time. It's either wayyy too dark, or not dark enough, no middle ground
If its like SOD 2, I'll pass. YOSE is the best SOD.
Thanks for your input and comment!
good idea
Thank you!
