AXE, remember to Explore the Water...
• At the Center itself. Good stuff down there. Drops too. Underground yes. But it's a great place.
• Bottom of the Giant Waterfalls, North & South.
• Under the Floating Island water. Drops down there.
Oh, for future reference. You can find the mean fishies in the shallow pools over the waterfalls edge. Makes taming with longneck easy. You can also locate them in the waters under the floating island.
"Bro, let me just get out of my damn fish!" is not a sentence I expected to hear today! XD
Always fun to see a taming session cause things never go as planned since you rarely use traps.

Axe - You also can kill jellyfish and use biotoxin which seems to work better than narcotics
That would've been so humiliating if Axe actually died from meshing into his Dunkle🤣
Trap method is good: build it near the shore and lure the Xiphactinus in. Worked for Syntac though he did still struggle a bit🙂
Yeah, torpor drain on the Xi is ridiculously fast!! Awesome spyglass really helps with taming these so you can see where health and torpor drain are at.😅

quick note for dealing torpor. Blunt force items (sling shot, club, fists, etc) deal all their torpor instantly. Anything made with narcotic applies some torpor instantly and then the rest over 5 seconds. The long neck and harpoon take so long to reload that they are almost done dealing torpor by the time the animation finishes. With the crossbow and other bows you can shoot fast enough to stack those 5 secs. Its why if you arent trapping a giga a crossbow can be better than the long neck because misses matter less with the faster fire rate since torpor is still rising for a few seconds after reload.

A pack of High level (45+Pw & Health) x 6 -8 of those X fish, can melt an Alpha Mosa.
The only thing keeping these fish from dominating the ocean meta is how hard they are to tame

i tamed one of these yesterday and omg it was so frustrating but so worth it, they are so fun to use.

remember to not put meat in when taming, it will eat the meat before prime meat, and prime meat before kibble :)
Is that just with this fish? As usually dinos’ll eat kibble first over anything when taming. Then raw meat before prime, kibble etc when tamed. We always put raw meat in when taming to stop them finishing off excess kibble when taming.
Tamed dinos prioritize lower quality food, but untamed ones prioritize higher quality food. Throwing the meat in means they won’t eat any extra kibble :)
