Brian May is a beautiful soul, he's right. Real change has to be inclusive not performative, well planned not reactionary. When real equality is reducing for all of us under the lgbtqai+ & Queer umbrella, we need genuine change not change on the surface without depth.
Adam Lambert also a beautiful soul, it's no wonder they're so close. 💖💜💚💜
I love and admire that Dr. May always thinks of the bigger picture and is concerned for others who are less fortunate.
I love this man and his view on protecting the voiceless, the animals. He always has time for people and is respectful to whom ever is interviewing him. A very clever, humble human, wish there were more like him.
This guy is a legend ,would love to meet him , I was 3 metres away from the stage at the o2 when they were there last and if youve never heard this guy live you dont know what your missing.

Brian is a class act. I'm glad he speaks his mind knowing that it may ruffle some feathers but our differences make us unicque and stand out. A male singers range is different than a womens in most cases. When a male singer can pull off the female register its impressive , and the opposite is true a female with a high range than can also hit the lower male register is hard. recognizing the ability isnt wrong

I love it when Brian speaks his mind, but then he has fans that scream and cry and say no you have to change what you said or my friends won't allow me to be your fan. That's what's wrong with the world today, you can't speak your mind, you have to be with the woke crowd or you're in the wrong.

Every one should have moral obligation to care for his/her surroundings towards living & nonliving things. It’s always nice to know that celebrities are front lining these causes to encourage everyone that it starts within us-being aware that what little contribution we do will have an impact collectively...

I absolutely agree with Brian 100%. It feels like we're living in a them and us society now, just filled with so much hate. New group's and community's are springing up each day seemingly filled with hatred for others who do not share the same mindset. There is no longer healthy debate or dialogue, where we can remain friends with folk who have different opinions, views and ideas. If you are a free thinker, you are the enemy. So much hate.
It's just that the hatred is being more openly shown than before. We used to have etiquette, honor and class. Now we have crudeness, egos and no class.
Wise words from Brian. It isn't a matter of different generations though. I too (younger generation) am amazed how come logic, reason, and evidence are thrown in the bin these days.
Loved everything Brian said. He is definitely a smart, wise man. Adam, what can I say except he's amazing. Please come back to Nashville TN. I think my 13yr old knows more Queen songs then I do, lol. I am the same age as you and I often feel overwhelmed and sometimes actually frightened by the hate and cruelty that seem to be so powerful these days particularly here in the U.S. where I live. I agree with the sentiments you expressed in this interview and I really appreciate the thoughtful and respectful way you do it, without rancor but with genuine concern.
Very lucky enough to see Queen i think at the Phesantry pub London 1972.With them until the end.Freddie was getting into his stride but the magical guitar flashes is what I remember most.
She asked what he thought Freddie would think. That answer was interesting 🤔.
Brian totally worries me these days. He seems unable to express his own pain that progressives bring up in their own stories. I would hate for this man to become irrelevant through his own hiding from reality. The difference between his answer and Adam’s is interesting.

I don't understand what I feel to be the absolute stupidity of removing genders from Music Awards. We need a number one female singer we need a number one male singer and then we have the Entertainer of the Year Award of which both male and female singers are considered. Carrie Underwood has won Entertainer of the Year three times, obviously enough people, both male and female, voted enough for her that she won, were the men upset?

5:04 I get the message about the aliens but to be honest, if there really are aliens out there who are as intelligent as we are, I'd expect them to have done a similar amount of damage to their own planet as we did to ours.
I agree with Brian. By combining male and female categories into one, you leave out 50% of the achievers who deserve recognition. And I'm a bit surprised Adam doesn't see that point. The LGBTQ+ group is now made up of so many different labels - how would he feel if they were all combined into one? What was the point of making everyone aware of all the differences then?
I love Adam and his music but I feel he should
take a step back and see what he is really saying . I think it is much deeper than what he thinks it is.
I have the impression that Adam tried to be quite soft and politically correct, perhaps not fully transparent, on his views… first of all because he is not Brit (and didn’t wanna touch anybody's sensitivity); and second, because he was trying to acknowledge that the change is an achievement for the queer community. But I read between the lines, he did not seem overly-enthusiastic. I found Brian’s answer very smart.
@@ug1969 You make a great point ‘bout Adam not wanting to interject his thoughts over how the Brits chose to change the category for their award show. I remember Freddie was never one to involve his political thoughts into what Queen was doin’ & maybe Adam’s takin’ Freddie’s lead on this?
@@ug1969 Also on the political correctness, younger people haven't gained the experience yet to know that they should speak their own thoughts out loud. Young People don't want to make waves but Bri wants everyone to feel the wake of his thoughts and be moved,(hopefully to action) in the right way.
@@rebekahpage8325 and @motown 1966 correct me if I am wrong, I think when it comes to US politics Adam takes a side quite strongly? But here he is in a kind of inconfortable position because he does not want to disappoint his community. So now I wonder: is his community actually happy with this type of change? Not to make anyone feel “different”, the solution is to blend all shades in one category? I would be curious to know. I cannot imagine that this what Adam and his people really want.
Either the interview uncut or not at all. Brian May should know what makes the press tick. Why do he( and Roger Taylor) chase after the press in such a way and complain about " words twisted in their mouth?" So no pity, it's his own fault.
Nobody can say whether there will be concerts in the forseeable future, maybe they should be a little more careful with their announcements or do they actually go on pre- sale just to postphone the concerts to never- ending day?

That's similar to my thinking, that biases would become more the norm for picking the 'best' there would need to be special categories included in order to select the best. What's next no leading male and female awards, just whoever is most popular at the time getting it. No, just leave the awards as is, and let the 'odd kids" pick which category they want to be ranked in.
Example: Adam should be able to choose which category he would want to be ranked under possibly for the year/season and Everytime afterwards everyone just has to register for the categories they want.
