Don’t care what anyone says, Quake 4 is a horror game and this level proves it. The Strogg in this game are beyond disgusting and terrifying. All that botched biomechanical shit is graphic beyond anything I’ve seen before
It has got a lot of gore too scattered throughout the game and the stroggification scene is the obvious one. It's not a typical horror game but it sure has elements of one.
True,at least Quake 4 still has scary feeling.
Even now at 28 I struggle to play it, im replaying it on my xbox 360 and it makes me nervous in a way and a bit scared especially those iron maiden enemies creep me out.
Quake 2 was the same as well.

Not only would that be great it would mean you could play the game without having to do some kind of patch to make it run normally on modern hardware. If what Steam reviews have to say is to be believed anyway.
Well, if 2 can get a remaster, one for 4 isn't so impossible to wish for. Maybe if we're lucky we get a quick explanation for why Kane's face mask is missing outside of "we wanted players to know they're still Kane."
This scene was horror as fuck when I was kid.

Cybernetics can be stripped and probably reused, but what do they do with biomass?

Most of the waste was going to be processed into a much more refined stroyent (strogg food)
Yeah the waste becomes "Stroyent" basically an alien version of Solyent Green.
You'd think they would strip the cybernetics first but a lot of the bodies in there still had their cybernetics and were under the acid sprayers, so unless their tech is so strong acid can't melt through it I can't see there being any cybernetics left to salvage after the meat is melted down.

I think they are just using him to power that walker, similarly to how they use those human torsos.Or because he was one of the main characters so it had to be a dramatic scene

Just shoot them in the head and fall back. Nailgun (upgraded) works fine. Its only a bit difficult if there are 2 of them in one small room.

a little embarrassing how many resources they rip from Doom 3, still looks like a cool game.
Best thing about this game is playing it on Linux around 2007.

I had forgotten the terrible sound of the assault rifle, on high difficulties where the enemies have more life it is torture to the ears, let's hope that if Bethesda releases a remake or a remastered of Quake 4 we will have the option to change the sound of that weapon

Player in the video then proceeds to not use the rocket launcher to shoot around the giant corners that are in the middle of the level for a boss that continuously just follows him and instead uses a grenade launcher. I mean you're open to do whatever it's just sort of funny to me this is hey look it's this thing that specifically can be used to fight this boss that basically just walks around the giant pillar in the middle of the room and you can constantly shoot rockets at it and guide them around the corner to hit them but then doesn't use it. And I would suspect that rocket launcher shots deal more damage than grenade launcher.

well Strogg sometimes use the human torso as a battery to power the mech their prisoners in, the prisoners don't HAVE to be brainwashed to be Stroggified
