I remember listening to this on the radio as I was doing some college work. I didn't get much done. A mixture of hope and nerves are fatal for the concentration.
The 1990’s were terrible years for Spurs, when proper defending was alien to most of the players at the club, and despite a succession of managers under Sugar, they regularly got thumped.
Walker, the Spurs goal goalkeeper, again stranded! These were the years when Campbell wasn’t in the defence, they had to rely on Calderwood a very poor player and Mabbutt, who by 1997, was finished!
Those were the days when Spurs had a powder puff defence! It was embarrassing to watch! Then we had the awful Ramon Vega, Spurs centre half, who was frankly a hopeless defender.

Yep, that really was an amazing day; honestly thought it was a lost cause at Spurs....

The awful Ramon Vega! A hopeless centre half! This was the decade when Spurs defence was shocking!
