You are getting better and better on your videos. Great protrait in the streets of Paris. What a great concept and I like your art. Good luck with the channel.
that is some true dedication to wait in the middle of the night in Paris for the perfect shot. TLRs are fun to use. people are genuinely interested in what you're doing with such an old camera but at the same time that is also its flaw: people will notice you so candid shots are harder.
True, very hard to remain discret with this camera :) Lastly I've made a series of street portraits using the Yashica, surprisely I only got one refusal when I ask for permission, I've made another series using the Nikon F3 and I receive more refusals, so it seems that people are willing to accept to be taken in picture with older camera that look unusual.
This is an awesome video! Very inspiring indeed! I just loaded my first roll of film and ready to get snapping. Quick question, what cable release did you use? There seems to be a lot of differing opinions with what is best for the 124G.
Great video. I have a Yashica A and most recently a Yashica 635 complete with the 35mm adapter and portrait and wide angle lens adapters. Great cameras.
Both the A and 635 mount a surprisingly poor quality 3-element lens, and the bodies are fairly crude copies of standard TLR designs. I bought the same 635 as yours, used it once and sold it when I couldn't get a sharp 11x14 enlargement (admittedly using a wider f-stop). Frankly, the 80mm Yashinon which is mounted to almost all later models of Yashica TLR is one of poorest quality lenses ever mounted on a Japanese TLR. Why so many YT videos about it? It's easy to find if you're in a rush for content. Although fancier looking, the 124G is actually a weaker build compared to the earlier models like the 124 and 12. It's hugely over priced.
Very cool! I have a Seagull 4B-1 from China which is very similar, maybe I can try it again soon. I hope you will also do a video shooting candids with this camera during daylight.
I swear that I saw a shot right after you said "Paris is waking up" :), but really nice video. Interesting use of the hot shoe port. Would like to see you test different 120 films and talk about them.
Besides your pictures I love your action cam mounted on your Yashica. Can you please send me the name of your action cam. I found none as practical as yours. Thanks for your inspiring videos.
DUDE!! Finally!!! Fantastic :D I have the same camera. Did you use the onboard meter at all or just the one on your phone. Mine seems to be right on. Fantastic images my friend. This is why I love film. Medium format is how I love to shoot. I'm selling my mint OM 2n simply because I love medium format so much. Take good care friend.
The light meter on my Yashica does not work so I use the app on my phone. Well, I like both format, square format is challenging I am not enough familiar with it, still so much thing to learn :) But what I am sure is that I love so much all my cameras that I can't sell them haha. You too take care dude :)
Absolute great !!! Thank you, my friend !!! Wanted to ask - what scaner are you using? I also got me an old russian medium format camera Lubitel-2, got me a film already and plan to test it. Thinking of getting a scaner as well.
"Proper" light meters are usually useless when shooting at night and smartphone apps are pretty accurate nowadays (probably because the light sensors in the phones have improved), so why pay more for a dedicated light meter if you can pay less for an app.
You can get them on ebay brother. Sometimes the meter works that is on it. I use the one I have. I actually have one for sale. It's not the G version, but it is mint. Anyway, take care!!
You've inspired me to pull my YashicaMat 124G out of the closet and start shooting with it again!
#KeepFilmAlive :)

Thank you very much !
Good demonstration of pre-visualization and then waiting for the shot to come. I love the disembodied foot :-)
Fishing technique :)
Great shots and music!

very true but also people don't seem to mind being photographed by old film cameras so much. as appose to a dslr with monster lens that is.

Amazing work!

Beautiful :-) Loved it. It was the Yashica that got me into film photography :-) (Been skint ever since!! )
I enjoy more and more using the Yashica, amazing camera
Very cool! I have a Seagull 4B-1 from China which is very similar, maybe I can try it again soon. I hope you will also do a video shooting candids with this camera during daylight.
Stunning images!! Can't wait to use my new (old) Yashica Mat 124(G) :)
Hey man! How can you focus in the dark????? I struggle when it is almost sunset haha
This is amazing, please put the settings on the pictures, i would love to see the aperture and shutter speed

Was that a trigger or what? It caught my attentionn but can´t understand what is...
I saw a potential shot right after you wrote in the video "Paris is waking up" . No subliminal meaning in what I said :D.
Great stuff. I also really like the disembodied foot.
Thanks Darren :)
Awesome job! I can't wait to try medium format :)
Thankss, Did you have the opportunity to try it ? That's awesome :)
Funny you should ask! I started a class a month ago and have been shooting medium format for the most part :D I love it!
Lots of people make videos reviewing old cameras and film but most of the photos they take are boring and lame. Yours are great.
Thank you Lance :)
enjoyed th video
how far did you push the film?
Besides your pictures I love your action cam mounted on your Yashica. Can you please send me the name of your action cam. I found none as practical as yours. Thanks for your inspiring videos.
Manfred Oetting it’s a mobius action cam
I love this series! The music, your photos... just everything! Your photos are so nice! Great job! :)

My 1rst mistake, not feeding film through rollers.
so cool, deep night is the best great time~
La première est vachement bien exposée, beau noir et tout ca ! Mais les autres sont un peu sous exposé non ? Ou c'est voulu
Interesting video. Would have been so much better with shutter speed and apature.
very cool!

Loved the video bro! How was this compared to the hasselblad 500cm?
Great concept, your next purchases should include a B30 lens hood and a proper light meter ( apps are o.k. in an emergency)
"Proper" light meters are usually useless when shooting at night and smartphone apps are pretty accurate nowadays (probably because the light sensors in the phones have improved), so why pay more for a dedicated light meter if you can pay less for an app.
Just trying to help.
Thank You :) A light meter is in my want-list, but yeah I prefer to spend my money on a new camera, by far the app I use gives me quite good results
Great! More, pls!
Great video! What`s that thing that looks like a trigger on the left side of your camera?
It's an action camera, I use it to film my shots in POV
27:07 Would of been such a nice frame there
Agree with you here. Those pigeons would have made great subjects.
Yes unfortunately I didn't have any frame left :(
Wich app to light metering are you using?
Thanks for the video... are you using the built in light meter?
Thank you for watching ! The built in light meter doesn't work, I used an app on my phone instead (Pocket Light meter)
Hey you got that “THE LAST OF US” vibes on your videos great work! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Where you buy this item? And which app do you use for light meter?
You can get them on ebay brother. Sometimes the meter works that is on it. I use the one I have. I actually have one for sale. It's not the G version, but it is mint. Anyway, take care!!
looks like LUX by avicora. could be wrong though. either way it's a good app.
I found them on internet, ebay or local ad. The app I use is Pocket Light Meter (it's free)
No words are necessary :)
you have to tell me what song is playing at the beginning! :(
Chris Zabriskie - I am a man who will fight for your honor
superbe ;)
Merci Matthieu ;)
