i grew up listening kiss and since my puberty im a hardcore 2pac fan ; this is just one of those moments in music history that doesnt happen anymore ; these are 2 of thecombinations if their genre . i STILL listen to both to this day
I love how Tupac had an appreciation for other genres and artists. Everyone from Beethoven to Kiss and Metallica to Hootie and the Blowfish and Madonna. RIP 🐐

25 years old? Unreal. A man way beyond his years
Never thought I'd look at this and think what a simple time...
As a gen-z with my favourite genres being 90s rap and 80s rock (tho mostly metal) , I don't know the history so much so I assumed their histories didn't collide so much, so this was a pleasant surprise to find out.

I came to live in California in the summer of 1975. I watched and listened to these guys since I was 13. I grew up with KISS. I remember the critics, the religious zealots that said that KISS were Devil worshipers, and the KISS Army that backed these guys up no matter what! I bought Tiger Beat, Teen Beat, and 16 magazines. I looked at every picture I could get my hands on trying to find out what these guys looked like without the make up. I remember when Gene was dating Cher!
Then in 1983, when I was 22, they removed their makeup. I watched the Lick It Up music video that showed the transition of each guy from full make up to none. Then the band seemed to have a lull. They weren’t everywhere like before. So when they showed up at the Grammy’s, you could hear the roar of the crowd upon seeing them. Everyone at the Grammy’s knew exactly who they were! Plus, it was the original line up! I’m not gonna lie, I got so emotional that I became freaking teary eyed. 🥺
I’d never seen them in concert though. I remedied that in 2003. 😏 I saw them at The Forum on a double bill with Aerosmith. I took my Godmother’s kids, ages 11 and 15 with me. I picked them up in a limo and didn’t tell them where we were going. I wanted their jaws to drop when we got to The Forum. However, the idiot limo driver lowered the partition glass while we were on the freeway and asked me how to get to The Forum. 🤦🏻♀️ I could’ve slapped him!!! 🤬Anyways, this forced me to tell the boys where we were going. They thought I was kidding ‘til I showed them the tickets. I’ve never heard screams like that! 😂 I’d just showed them the movie Detroit Rock City a few months prior too!
I questioned my judgment when they showed a girl’s “headlights” on the huge screen though. I mean, these kids were minors. I remember that we looked at the screen. I put my head in my hands. 🤦🏻♀️Then I heard the boys go “YEEEEAAAHHHH!” I thought, oh well, f…. it! 🤷🏻♀️🤣 Peter Chris had rejoined the band for this tour. He came out on stage by himself holding a bunch of red roses. There was a seat there for him. I knew what was coming. I was finally gonna hear Beth!!!! I think I cried through the entire song.
I was 41 when I finally heard Rock and Roll All Night done live. I had to wait 41 years to see Gene spit blood and breathe fire. It was worth every single penny that I put on my credit card. 😏 🎸 🎸🎸🥁
