It's an old anime that some people swear by, but it goes under the radar.
Up to you if you wanna watch it, however if you want something similar but much less boring i recommend Parasyte.

Death Note was my first anime and I would recommend it to anyone getting into anime. It has the highest conversion rate of making people become fans of anime because its so epic. Definitely a great one to start with.
