    I loved this video! I may one day try my hand at yacht brokering, or project management, and the idea of this whole sector of the market sent chills down my spine!

    Even if you built extensive superstructure on the aft deck it would still be well within the load capacity of the ship. They are designed to carry very heavy equipment items and bulk cargo like mud and fuel.

    I'm quite familiar with these, but most of these Damen conversions have semi-displacement hulls complemented with fin stabilizers, so I don't know how these will perform in the poles or in heavy seas.
    The Norwegian rescue vessel,, the OSVs, and the 83m X-bow vessels are the best options.
    The Canadian Coast Guard vessel is the strongest contender, but at 7,500HP and with the top ice-class plating, it wouldn't be too economical.
    The Norwegian patrol vessel, the T-AGOS vessel, and salvage tugs are also good options, but I wonder if those could carry an amphibious aircraft.
    This might be a flimsier, but a more economical option, albeit, perhaps, still a bit small for an amphibious aircraft

      I saw Metal Shark but didn't have time for a proper tour. Next visit I will definitely go there. They have built some very interesting vessels.

      @@ExpeditionYachts Indeed they have! In fact I believe they’re doing a collaboration with Damen, with the Sea AXE design. They also have a really cool 70m catamaran concept

    Stupid question: could these be converted into military like ships?

    • @ExpeditionYachts
      @ExpeditionYachts  2 месяца назад

      Oh yes. They have been for a number of navies. Also, the private security companies like them. Someone I work with just put ballistic glass in one and delivered it ti Nigeria.

      @@ExpeditionYachts so could these be retrofitted for private security/PMC use? And what legality would it have on international waters?
