I'm 18 years old and I have an entrance exam this year and things are difficult for me and sometimes i really lost my motivation and feel so bad , because education system in Iran is a completely disaster, and we have big problems in this regard .

@@zarandmarin8970 at this point I've started to feel every country's students feel their education system is disastrous. I see Indian students complain about our ES all the time while preparing for entrance exams which are highly competitive.
Life is unfair but if you are able to read this on a new phone, in a warm home, without being hungry or thirsty then you are already having a head start against at least 50% of the population.

Okay, another one. I am an avid gardener. The conflict in the sector is always about organic gardening vs 'cides and 'izers. One gardener I met grew up very poor. His family grew a garden organically for their food. They used only organic methods because they could not afford the symthetics. Fast forward 40 years, he still gardens organically and has the most amazing production. Why? Over time, his 'disadvantage' became an advantage. His garden soil is so healthy that he does not need syntheitcs. Also, becase has been eating fresh, prepared foods all of his life, he is not on any medications, and he has never been overweight.
Thx for being there when I need to hear this the most, cause it's filling the confidence that I'm lacking right now in life.

yes i live in turkey now, for those who get income with USD they can handle the changing of prices, but also the prices keep changing according to the exchange rate, i am from Iraq and have been living here for 4 years. still trying to manage my time, because we all have the same 24 hours, some people do invest in their money and getting 2%-5% each day which is nothing for poor people.
and my parents from both Syria/Iraq, so people could recognize me as half foreigner in iraq, and during the civil war of 2006-2009 we lived in syria and we had relatives there but people still saw me as foreigner.
anyway.. this can be unfair advantages to be more the self-confidence and self-reliance.

I'm from Iran and Turkey is our neighbor country.
I really feel shit about living in Iran. It has the lowest currency and due to US sanction we don't have access to paypal so if I want to do freelance jobs, I must search over and over to find someone outside country with paypal to transfer money.
My dream is to live and work in Japan as video game developer and voice actress. I start learning Japanese but I know I will never can achieve this dream because I don't have enough money and sadly I'm not young anymore. I'm 30 and I have to think more realistic....

It's called playing the game. The problem is weather how much you are willing to give up your principles to get a foot hold in the game. Once you are established you can get back to your principles. It's not hard work is willing to take on failure and learn, rethink then move forward again. If you can't take failure you will never get anywhere. I learn more from failing them success. It's the people who lack flexibility that have a harder time getting the success they want.

I try to learn japanese and german,I learned english by myself. my cousins live in germany so this is huge advantage for me but If I'm not willing to practice german this is gonna be a wasted advantage. just like you said Its all about knowing how to use them.
It is very important, that you might have a lot of money, but don't have the ability to use it. Although you probably couldn't imagine how is this possible.
You might have good talents and skills, but don't have an opporunity to use it. Because of this, you will just spend all your money on gambling, because there is no other thing you could do. And this will be just a short entertainment, that costs insane amount of money.

If you are living in a developed country you are not going to be earning 6-10 dollars an hour. Also graduates in Japan do not make anything like 5000 usd. This was incorrect a year ago even more so now.

I dont think you really understand what a hard time is. It show on your face that your life is fairly easy than 99%of human in history of mankind. Life is definitely unfair. You can work just as hard as another person, yet circumstances can still affect your results. Should we then continue to compare ourselves to others? No. I think that there is beauty in the story of overcoming financial and mental struggles just as much as taking longer.

I know a guy who cheats on his life partner with many women yet he still have successful career & living a safe life. I know some of my friends bought / cheated their bachelor thesis and work at Shopee / have lucrative jobs, because they got it before the pandemic hit in 2020. I know corrupt politicians who went unpunished, like Ferdinand Marcos of Philippines.

I understand all the points you wanted to convey but I honestly believe that not everything can be circled around to become an advantage. if you were born in Eastern Europe for instance you could be as ambitious as much as you want but it would be 10times more difficult to achieve a normal life standard. Just like in the Middle East for instance. There are still some countries where it is better to be born than in others, and there is no way to spin it around. Other points make sense ofc.
That's the same feeling I had watching this video. There are some systems that actively work against a person, much like how the United States has systems set in place to disenfranchise black people, that can make overcoming them extremely difficult. That being said, I'm more in the mindset that communities and working together with others can and usually do help in overcoming and changing the systems at play to enfranchise one another. Also, of course, working towards yourself and empowering yourself, but understanding the systems at work and what changes need to be made to get to where you want to be. It's both realizing one's personal strengths and the strengths of communities.
Existence is designed to work against each individual, in some way.
Believing that not everything can be turned into an unfair advantage is a fatalistic and limited view on existence.
Allowing One’s life to be ultimately dictated by their circumstances is weakness. Period.
There are PLENTY of people born in the Middle East/Eastern Europe who have used such to their advantage.
Simply because you are not aware of any, does not imply they do not exist.

Pretty much. I don't know what my actual IQ is but I'm dumb and slow at everything, it would take me 10x longer to learn than average people. Although it does give you some kind of stoic mindset due to always being disappointed and failed lol. Now I never expected things to turn out well but I still do it anyway.

So true, the only truths are that life is hard and we’ll all die. There are things we can’t change - but stacking the deck and using our unfair advantages means we can make the best of what we have! My unfair advantages include my education/being a doctor, empathy/communication skills, problem solving skills, video editing/graphic design/music for my own YT channel… There are things that I would change if I could (without going into detail) - but I am still so grateful for the advantages that I have been given, and will try my best to use them to help myself and others around me!

I was one of those book smart students in school. And you are absolutely right, now that I am a little older, I know for a long time that there are more types of intelligence which I am not good at. Creativity, social interaction, emotional intelligence. I am bad in all of that. I am doing ok now, but not as good as I could, I guess.

Hi Ruri, I realized that when I change my mode positively my life improves. Mostly I was getting what I believe that. Despite the fact, I am still fragile. Whenever I have little tiny problems, I can't prevent going back. I guess I need to prepare a more powerful routine for the rest of my life.

Sure, life is unfair. Achieving success means putting it into the proper context. Not everybody needs to or should even want to be a millionaire. Success for some may merely mean achieving a regular job or income and a safe place to live.

I think I'm born with stupidity. Right now I work in the supermarket and my only hope is that I can reinvest this little money so that I don't have to work 40 years full-time and end up with a broken back or similar someday.
