Very nice truck, your radiator looks like it started off as an oil cooler for an industrial compressor, a friend built ( modified) a core and built me the same radiator with the wide cross flow tubes. Mine was built by API Air Tech in Arcade NY. Unfortunately it's to big to fit into my 94 Sonoma where it would be welcomed on my street/strip truck.
I like where you get to keep your power brakes, I ended up going with Strange Engineering manual master cylinder, due to spread port heads on my 1st gen I was limited to 2" primary tube fenderwell or build my own (no thanks) and left no room full brake package.
I plan on changing that out soon, my brakes have so much drag on them idk what els could be the issue, caliper is centered on the rotors so it’s not that but the wheels barley make 1 rotation if you spin it.
My cousin texted me this morning asking me did I want to buy his 85 S10 for 500. I'm getting it this weekend and letting it sit up until I'm ready to build it
Got a couple questions, first what have you done to the 6 liter, any better internals or just stock? Cam? Second what tig did you go with? alpha maybe? got a glimpse of it but couldnt tell. Sharing any times? Im about to start a similar gen two 99 model, probably LY6 th400 with either an 8.8 or 9" or maybe a aluminum 400 sbc. All this is stuff i have except an 8.8, ive been surfing youtube checking out all the s10 builds for ideas. Hard to make my mind up. 6L probably be considerably cheaper. But i love the old school 400 small blocks
Cam,pistons, rods is different. Crank, heads, and block are stock. And yea I got the alpha machine. It’s not a bad machine but I think I already got a gas leak some where on the supplied hose
@@boostedS10 nice. That’s the same set up I just put on my twin turbo c10. I am hoping to start it this evening so I was watching some videos and ran across yours! Fingers crossed everything goes good!
I got a question on how your roll cage was tied in to the frame/outriggers. Building an s10 and I think I have the same cage and I need to modify it like something you have…. Are you in Texas?
The main hoop is welded to plates on the cab floor then added a bar to go down and tie into the frame, I didn’t do the cage so not sure if it’s a kit or not. I’m not a fan of the cage going to the cab so I plan on cutting this one out some point this year
Is there anyway I can call you or visit with you? I’d like to see how it’s been tied in and I’m in the same boat and trying to get ideas on how to tie it in to the frame
The combo made barley over 1000 with 67mm turbos, now they are 72’s so I’m unsure what exactly it makes now but I’m sure that gained a couple numbers with the new turbos
It usually costs a lot more to build something the aftermarket has zero support for and it would have a lot less power. Stock head casting or even a billet one off and with a stock block it would be a fraction of the horsepower an LS can put out and the LS would have costed a fraction of what that 2.2 would cost to build. 2.2= more money, less power, less reliable meaning you’ll be building and spending that money or more again to do it again. That’s why no one is building an 80s stock block 4 cylinder.
@jasonwann5079 Kind of hard a r p does not make studs for that particular engine, Nobody makes an aftermarket head.. And so far I Have not found any cams or cranks that would support this in line format, Just like the commenter below , you said it's really difficult to build an engine that nobody builds. But I have done my best new pistons new bearings cam rod mains Cometic head gasket Three core all aluminum welded radiator. Cold air intake and headers with a borla exhaust. It's a good little engine probably wouldn't be so anemic In power if assisted with a turbo or Pro charger of some sort
Very nice truck. Guess its funny to me ; i put one kids college education into a billet crank for my 99 zr2 lol, probably have 2 years salary in it and can nane the bolt plating company i used for the nuts underneath my plsnted seat brackets😂😂. Youd still blow my doors off lol. Im on my 7th S10, jusy aoways had a place in my heart i reckon. But what a great example of a first gen. Thank you! A lot of time put into getting it how I want it to look, not done yet either
Saw yall at the test and tuning in sunday. God damn that car was fast.
Thanks! Yea finally startin to figure some
Stuff out on it, still got more left in it we slowly creep up in the power
Nice piece. I love that grill. And it’s color matched.
Thanks man
Sweet truck. Good vid. You've got my sub! 👍🏻
Lots of good inspiration for my '88 S10.
Hell yea glad I can help with that💪🏽 and thanks for the sub!

@@boostedS10 Could your proportioning valve be an issue by maybe not fully releasing line pressure?
I have to look back and see, I don’t even remember if it has one in line or not lol
Good catch though
Nice truck brother!!
Thank you sir
Nice video sir, that will help a lot with my build
Glad it helped you out!
Very nice your video

Nice S10 this is my dream truck to build
Go for it man, get you one and slowly start doing it one day!
I just finished putting a 5.3 in a 98 shortbed sierra it's in the tune shop now so once I'm completely done with it I'm getting me a S10

Nice I'm you made that video now we just need some shirts, stickers, etc to show some support!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
One day, I definitely want some shirts made after I get some good pictures to use
@@boostedS10 that's kool I have a stock transmission cross member if your going back that route I'm in Highlands,TX 77562
Not to far away, but I plan on going powerglide soon
That's a bad ass truck u got
Thanks man, hope it only gets better from here
Nice build brother
Thank you man!
Nice truck man. Did you have to do anything with the steering shaft to fit those headers? Im starting a s10 build myself this winter.
Yes, cut one header tube off and welded it back to fit around the steering shaft
Bad ass truck bro! ✌️
Thanks man, put a lot of time into it forsure
@@boostedS10 Yeah I can tell bro! I’ve got a Chevy Luv with a 500+hp small block. I can’t imagine having double the power haha.
Hell yea man, I like the luv trucks
Just subscribed and came to see what’s happening lol
Thanks man💪🏽
badass s10
Thank you!
Very nice build!
Thank you! I love that others enjoy seeing the truck build
Nice ass ride creative build
Thanks a lot!
@@boostedS10 thanks I subbed I'll b watching your stuff brother
Thanks man! Means a lot
How did you mount you Kirkey seat? What brackets did you use?
I got them off the guy I bought the roller from, he had made his own set that bolted into the stock location and then to the kirkey mounting points
He used some like 3/4” bar and vent/welded it all together, unfortunately I can’t post a picture here or I would show you

It made 1100 on the dyno, and I got -10 feed and return lines. With 2 big fuel pumps

@@boostedS10 thanks man!
do you have a part number for that ict billet alt bracket? been looking for one that will fit down there inside the stock frame rail.
551667EWP-3 there is the part number, that is the truck spacing one I believe
Awesome! Thanks man!

I like the truck
Thank you!
man i have to ask, how much you got invested in this s10? looking to build one myself
Man idk a number really, has been so much over the last couple years lol I’d guess 40k after everything, just my fuel system was 5k
@@boostedS10 one more question hahaha what cage do you have? i cant find one that does through the cab rather than the window
@helloyesh it was a custom cage, I don’t think you will find a pre bent one that goes through the bed because it’s technically not the correct way
Sry to hear about the role over.. any idea on numbers or 1/4 mile?
Never ran quarter mile, pretty much all the no time stuff around Houston is 1/8th mile
What size Throttle Body is that
It is a 102mm
What engine camshaft or is it factory also?
It has a little John turbo cam in it
What steering shaft? I Love the truck I’m building mine just like it.
I don’t know the brand of it, I can take a picture or something tho
What did it run in the 8th when it was setup like this?
The last video I posted I went through what it all ran, went a I believe as 5.23 when it lifted a head last pass
What’s the offset on your rear tires? Great fitment
I wish they were more tucked lol that’s 15x10 wheel with 5.5 backspace
Not even bro! That’s good fitment! lol no rubbing issues?
Nah never had any rubbing, it’s got like 1/4” or 1/2” from the frame on the inside and plenty of room from the bedside
Check out Gowen mountain speed shop he makes some badass cross members
I’ll have to look that up, never heard of them
U running stock rotors with rc comp wheels
Wilwood brakes all the way around
Even rotors are from wilwood
Yea all of it
Or any kind of spacer for center cap to fit
No it fit how it was, I didn’t change anything or order anything special
I got stock rotors but wilwood brake calipers just scared center caps won't fit
Thanks for the help u have a beautiful truck man
Any drop spindles on truck
No sir
How much hp?

15x10 with 5.5 back spacing don't rub on inside
On mine it don’t but idk if my rear end is shorter any then the original one. It’s like a quarter inch away from the frame at most, super close
@@boostedS10 thanks yeah I've ask around they said the same thing they say its close but it doesn't rub
I got 15×10s with 4.5 backspacing on now just trying to tuck more under truck cause that little bit sticking out don't look right thanks again
Src s10 has double that power
Yea his truck is a different level lol
Just once I would love to see somebody seriously build a 2.2 l instead of just slapping in LS And Throwing away the original motor😢,
I got the truck as a roller so it was all already missing
