hi there soz to bother you my cousin was the dj here for a while charlie parnell ya dont know where else has info about the djs ect or footage he no longer with us i have all his records im trying to out together some ting for his grandaughter
@@stephenparnell4613 unfortunately mine were the days long before digital cameras or mobile devices, and sadly I don't have a single photo taken at Flicks. :(
Remember recording this on vhs! Making sure long play selected, hitting record way to early because of going out (occasionally because of going to bed early), so it recorded until the tape ran out & would rewind, in order to catch this (as couldn't be bothered to programme it in, as was long!) & then having to forward through to find it next day 😂
This was 34 years ago.The internet barely existed. Social media was a phrase nobody knew. VHS video 3 for 2 rental films for the weekend was the norm - Netflix was 20 years away. Passing around C-90 cassettes with crappy copies of John Peel mixes was a thing. Its also cringe-worthy awful, but good at the same time. I wonder where all the people that were there that night at Flicks are now? 🤔
21:00 start then onto 31:24, then 1:01:20 for red blooded males. I'm a fan of Pip (who's at least 50 y/o now.) . it's not perving if she's older than you !! :)
Look at all those chookters packed into a pub! Where did they park their tractors??? And how many of them were winching their sisters?? PS: Sherbet and Pip are mid 50s now

Late 80's and 90's were a dire time for popular music, when old creepy guys like Pete Waterman churned out a stream of bland manufactured dance tracks. The clean image of this show also belies the insidious use of pop music culture to expand drug use amongst youngsters and make it part of the culture of going to clubs.
Deep man...very deep. Popular music in the late 80s wasn't great, and Stock Aitkin and Waterman certainly produced some utter shite. I can agree with that. The drug bit...nah.
@@klawlor3659 The 80's spawned a club culture which by the late 80's was producing big problem with drugs and associated crime. The prime example is the Haçienda in Manchester where the first UK's first ecstasy-related death occurred and there were several shootings inside and outside. A decade which started with so much optimism for the future, with interesting diverse music, turned sour and Waterman and his music industry friends facilitated that..
