My first concert was Heep at the Glasgow Apollo in 1973 I was just going on 14 and they changed my world, loved seeing Lee happy jamming with the boys wee bit teary with the nostalgia of it all, god bless all of them past and present, still very heavy still very humble.
I hate that we lost Lee but I'm so happy he knew he was leaving this earth and had the chance to be play with old friends and to be honored by us, his fans. Rest in peace brother.
What an amazing man. Will forever love his work on the first 2 Ozzy albums. Diary of a Madman will always be head and shoulders above all! Rest in Peace Lee.
Lee was an amazing Vocalist as well as one of the finest drummers ever!! As I saw recently in an interview with Mick - difference between Deep Purple and Heep - they had One Singer, We Had FIVE!! Been with Heep since Very 'Eavy, this brought tears to my eyes... My favourite Band, none compare!!
Lee Kerslake. Brilliant drummer and one of the nice guys in rock. An absolute legend. UH was never same without him. My fav era was Lee with Gary Thain on bass. What a rhythm section that turned out to be.
I remember watching a live Heep DVD (Magician's Birthday Party IIRC) years ago, and being blown away when Lee started singing lead behind the drum kit. He truly did have a beautiful, full, rich voice. Should have been featured more on the albums if you ask me. Not only a powerful drummer, but a powerful vocalist as well. He will be deeply missed.
@@goopah You're so right! 👍 I was very touched when hearing his solo vocal parts of Paradise/The Spell. I was completely happy and very sad the same time. I was crying for a while. I miss him so much... 😢
@@Wibbedibbe There are two great losses this autumn Lee and Ken. I'm crying. UH has only one original member of its gold structure now. May be John Lowton also.
What a great thing to do for Lee. You would never know how ill he was watching this from the joy on his face from being out there onstage with his mates again.
As a nurse practicing in geriatric centers, I have learned that everyone has a history. People of today who didn't grow up with the band might have seen him, stricken, and completely ignored him. What a mistake. No one would have ever guessed that this fat man in the wheelchair was one of the greatest rock drummers who ever lived. Instead they would rather praise the virtues of thugs, and burn down cities. I have spent many hours listening to Lee, and would rate him as one of my five favorite rock drummers, along with Ringo, Bonzo, Rod Coombes, and Ian Pace. RIP Lee Kerslake.
First song I ever heard by them was “Walking in Your Shadow” in 1970 or 71. Rolling through town one night, in the back of a friend’s VW Bug, smoking a big fat doobie. Great way to get introduced to Uriah Heep. Thanks for the good tunes Men!
how cruel is the tima thas passing by...meet these guys back un 1982...Trevor is missing a lot! Love forever Heepclan.. Time will never erase the Heep era.!!!
Thank you again for all the positive sentiments. I'm sure his family and the band will be heartened by all the warmth shown by fans from all corners of the world. Having seen the band many times (and met the lovely Lee "The Bear" Kerslake a couple of times) I am so pleased (and lucky) to have captured this magical moment, a sort of farewell to the fans and the band.
Thank you for this precious video with our beloved Lee! It's great to see him so happy to be again on stage with "his" band and his old mates and having so much fun. It makes me happy too, and the same time it makes me cry because he's gone! I love him, his drumming, his voice and I will keep all this in my heart - forever! ❤️
Thank you for all your comments. Loved to see Russel beckoning Lee over for an impromptu session on the drums too. Also, sounds like Ozzy Osborne is finally giving in to his request for the discs he was due for his work on Blizzard Of Ozz and Diary Of A Madman.
A only really heard about Lee since his death and am a lover of blizzard of oz I just want to say what a real, true, gentleman and inspiration he was and still is, not just musically either.
Lee was a powerhouse in the seventies, he could easily compete with Paice and Bonham. Just listen to Live 1973, their legendary double live album. He carried the whole band together with the greatest bass player of all time, Gary Thain. Legendary rhythm section.

I was born one year after "Logical Progression" was relased - 1996. I saw Lee with Uriah Heep on DVD, where they played in Moscow - 1989.
Uriah Heep. Bought ''Live'' in 1974. My first album. Still have it as I do all the other Heep albums. RIP Lee Kerslake.

The greatness of a band..
So sad, that was the last time with Lee on stage, one of the great drummers in rock!
This music has been with me since I was a teenager. It will ALWAYS hold a place dear in heart.
Pure magic. I only wish the whole band could be here in body and not in spirit. Shook the walls of heaven on this one. God bleess all.
