- Prayer is POWERFUL. Prayer has always been a part of my quiet time routine, and generally I will talk to God throughout my day. But lately I have been wanting to grow in setting aside more INTENTIONAL time in prayer. Through prayer, we have access to talk to God whenever, and there is such intimacy with Him available to us when we commune with Him in this way. Not to mention, prayer changes things. 🙏🏼
In this video, I am going to be talking about how to pray, and sharing some of the things I personally have been doing to try and cultivate a richer prayer life. I hope you enjoy! 💛

I always heard that when your mind wanders during prayer then you should be praying about that specific thing. Keeping that in mind it makes it feel like its OK if my mind wanders and not that I should be in trouble for my mind wandering. But to just pray for that!

I also have my own P.R.A.Y for studying the Bible. P = Pray, R = Read, A = Assimilate (meditate on the scripture), Y = Yield (let the scripture teach me) 😊
How do you meditate on it?
@@BIBLE-a-s-m-r It's the same way when you utilize your time and energy to think or worry about something. When you meditate, you simply think about the thing over and over. For example, if you have a Bible verse to meditate on, you just think about the verse and its meaning throughout the day. So, rather than occupying your mind with worries, disappointments, fears or pains, you shift your focus and replace them with a Bible verse - that's meditating. You can start with verses from the book of Psalms because most of them are prayers by themselves. Try it and you'll see tremendous benefits. God bless you!

What I appreciate about prayer is how God as the Creator and Almighty WANTS to hear from us. If we wanted to speak with the most powerful person in the world, the chances of that happening are pretty slim yet our God, the God of David, Moses, Abraham, he wants to hear from us and we can talk to him anytime of the day or night about whatever is on our heart- amazing!
One other point, the Lord’s Prayer is a great example of how to pray. It is a model prayer shown by Jesus to teach us how to pray. It prioritizes God and his holiness and his purpose first then says we can pray about our needs. A great example for us when we pray. As mentioned, this is a model, not something that we should memorize and repeat as shown in Mathew 6:7 “ when praying do not say the same things over and over again.” The idea is that our prayers should be heartfelt and not thoughtless memorized prayer but we can still use the model pray as our guide. Father God, I ask you to cover Margeorie with your peace and strength. Please give her the strength to allow you to make tough decisions that will allow the change she is seeking. Give her the peace she needs to be grateful about these changes that will take place. Please walk with her as she forgives and gets forgiveness so that she will have space in her heart for the blessings you will give her and her family. We trust you Lord as we know nothing is impossible for you. Nothing is too big for you. We want you to get the glory for this Lord. Reading and praying the psalms is also a very good way to grow in your prayer life and to pray effectively, especially when you feel like you don’t know what to say or you don’t have the right words to describe your feelings or thoughts, or wants. Just study a psalm a week, meditate on it throughout the week and pray with it gradually you’ll be able to memorize more of the psalms and just recite them while doing something else. It helps because though you can’t pray for 10 minutes long, at least you don’t go 10 minutes without praying
Great tips. My prayer tip is that he sometimes speaks back to you without an action or voice but through a feeling you get. I don't really have a personal prayer request. I have what I need and only have one thing that I want and don't have yet. All my friends and family are doing well. So I guess pray for the Country and the World it has a lot of issues right now. Please only pray for that which I wish for if you feel compelled to and focus on the things others need instead.

I used to make time to listen for God during my prayer time; and over time I realised that when God wants to be heard, He will be! He speaks through His word of course, through impressions on the heart, through people, dreams, messages, songs and on rare occasions in an audible voice. God has never once spoken to me in the quiet times I set aside during my morning prayer times to purposefully listen for Him - but He has VERY clearly spoken to me many times, outside of that, in different ways. Even in that example of Samuel, it wasn't when Samuel was waiting to hear God; but instead God called Samuel several times and made Himself heard.

Funny that; I wrote down the P.R.A.Y acronym the other day! I've been wanting to start a prayer journal back up. I notice I pray more in-depth when I write it out and more focused (especially when I'm praying Scripture).

Thank you for this awesome video! Lately, my prayers have felt as if they lack a bit. I am glad that you brought up the PRAY acronyms as I have used them before but had forgotten all about them. You mentioned that you write your prayers as bullet points, but I have to admit; writing the prayer as a form of nightly/daily journal is also an awesome way to spend down time with God. I do this a lot as I love to write and it allows me to express all towards God and letting go. God bless 🌸🙏🏻

Prayer gets really hard sometimes, especially when in doubt and when there are lots of unanswered prayers, and for some reason I'd forgotten that there's already a prayer given to me by Jesus Himself in the Bible. Thank you for that reminder and the acronym . Love it 💯.

I prayed most of my life in my heart and thoughts. I was told to speak my prayers. Saying your prayers draws me much closer to God. Saying your prayers makes your prayers far more effective. I highly encourage to speak your prayers.
Mark 11:23 says believe in your heart and confess with your mouth. I encourage to speak your prayers.

Great video Kaci. I also am trying to grow in my prayer life. My prayer request is for God to lead me to a better job. One that would give me the hours and pay to be more financially stable, one that I would enjoy, and one that I want to be at for a long time as my career.

I also want to let it be known that I have heard God speak to me 2 different times. Each time, I heard His voice, it was gentle and encouraging, and I heard it over and over and over as if it was infinite in that moment. It was undeniable.

This is was needed, thank you so much for these tips. The PRAY acronym is something I’m definitely gonna start doing and thank you for breaking down the meaning of The Lord’s Prayer because it provided me with a deeper meaning to it. Please pray for my friends who are lukewarm, please pray for my best friend and her mother who are unbelievers of Jesus Christ, and pray for my friends who are Catholics. Pray that they all accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior in their lives and to choose him over themselves, please. Also please pray that I continue stand firm in my Faith in Jesus and be more obedient to God. God bless everyone I’ll be praying for you guys as well, keep walking with Jesus.

I know I maybe late with this video, but I'm currently struggling to get close to the Lord. For many years I have run away from the Lord and now I am starving for his Love. I need to work on Prayer and worship for Him. If I could get a prayer request for strength in my time of weakness to be able to get close once again to my Father.
