While I'm on the road I'm changing my RUclips schedule from Tuesday/ Friday videos to "spotty uploads" during the coming month or so - hope you understand! :D Make sure you've signed up for emails from me so you can be notified when the 2022 Women's Calendar and 2nd edition doodled Doodle gaiter are released! subscribepage.com/doodle
Do you have back support? Harley should have one for the bike you are using. I'm old and have acquired a lot of aches and pains, including my back. Have used them on most of my later Harleys, help's a lot. Have a good time and be careful.
Hey Doodle, sorry for the silly question but would you or someone be able to advise me on how do I sign up for emails as I would really love an 2022 girl rider calendar. T.I.A.
Having ridden motorcycles for 50 years it is enjoyable reliving the joys of someone discovering the joys of riding through your videos. Stay safe, keep riding and enjoy your time in the saddle.
Once you get that harley out on the highway or interstate that's where it will shine. You'll really like having the fairing also. So glad to see you taking a trip on a harley!!
Hi Doodle, this is a huge undertaking, especially as you're going alone! The Street Glide looks absolutely beautiful! and I hope you get to love it throughout your 5 days trip. You have so much planned for the months ahead, so we have a lot to look forward too! Have a great trip, and it's nice you're meeting up with lots of friends.💗
wow....wow...wow...awesome, I love the fact that you are trying so many bikes, and look at you on your 2000 mile trip! in the three years that I have been watching you, you have really grown. Congrats, stay well, and be safe!
Doodle, good luck on your trip. That’s a great bike to tour on. I’m actually on a 5,600 mile trip right now. I’m currently in the Seattle WA area and will be working my way back to Austin TX. You got this..
That looks like a lot of fun and showing people small bikes build skills is so important… a lot of people seem to get larger harleys and never ride them as they feel embarrassed asking for lessons.
I've been a Harley guy for about 45 years, so I'm happy to see you on one taking a road trip. I ride a 1998 Softail Custom and a 2017 StreetGlide Special. Living in Woodstock, I can relate to the crazy Atlanta traffic. There's really no good way to get south of Atlanta making good time, when your options are I-75 thru town or 285 around town, The traffic can be stressful as you know 2 wheels or even caged! Point #2...The stock wind screen on the StreetGlide looks kewl but doesn't work well. You're going to find that you're gonna get a lot of buffeting to your helmet, which is tiring. That's why many change out the wind screen to a recurve style that moves the wind up and over you instead of hitting you directly in the face. Safe travels Doodle, I look forward to watching your journey!!
You will always remember your first solo road trip on a bike. I’m very excited for you. Can’t wait to see how you enjoy the bike and how your travels go.
Yes, I’m replying to my own comment dammit. Where’s the update on this trip?! I’m on the edge of my seat now, for like two months! I hope it went well. Can’t wait to hear about it
You'll fall in love with that Harley. I have a 2019 Street Glide with the Milwaukee 8 very smooth engine and for a heavy bike they are quite nimble. Highway pegs will make ya even more comfortable over distance. They can go for almost 250 highway miles before a fill up as far as gas as well. I cant wait to see the videos of you meeting up with Jess (Her Two WHeels). I love her channel as well.
Your a inspiration thank you, you have made my cousins wife and my girlfriend fully leave there fear of riding. They have always seen you as a way to keep pushing forward.
Glad to see you pushing your limits more and more Doodle, keep it up and good luck. As for ear plugs, MC Rider down here in Fort Worth just put out a vid reviewing several. I know its a little late, but as someone that also has ear pain with what most people use it is worth looking at for the future.
I've purchased and tried about six different kinds of ear plugs. NONE of them were satisfactory in the least until I purchased custom ear plugs that were made for me while I waited at a bike show. Actually I have seem similar ear plugs being marketed at several major bike events and shows. Worth every penny, every penny. Reduces wind noise substantially and most important...fit perfectly and are very comfortable.
I've been contemplating a year round trip. Now I can't punk out seeing you be so courageous doing a solo trip. I travelled South America for a year and met so many women traveling solo (not cycling). I will be taking notes. You'll be good.
Good for you for broadening your horizons! I like some HDs but after helping at a bike shop for several years, I will stick with my Japanese made machines. I did once get to ride a totally hotrodded RoadKing once, it was impressive until I hit bumps.
It's been fun following your vids and seeing you progress in your riding skills. Kudos to you for stepping outside your comfort zone and hopping on a bagger. There is nothing like it. I hope you have a safe trip and have a blast along the way!
To save your back rig up a bag on your passenger seat to lean against. Makes a HUGE difference! Also I use an Air Hawk air cushion. I’ve put 50,000 miles on it and can stay in the saddle all day for days on end. Good luck Doodle! Have a blast!!
Ha! Doodle on a Harley! Nice looking bike, dear! And should be a good one for a road trip! Good luck on your road trip, by the way! Keep riding! Keep smiling! Ride safe!
A windshield with a recurve will get rid of the buffeting. Highway pigs and a backrest help with comfort. Looking forward to your opinion of the Harley after your trip.
I think you're going to love that bike on the trip. These touring bikes are in their natural habitat out there on the open road at highway speeds. Can tell you're excited about it and we're all looking forward to the journey.
Awesome to see you busting out onto totally different styles of riding & bikes! My long bike trip was in 1987. '85 Suzuki GS550E with a 1 tooth larger countershaft sprocket, throttle lock, and 3 motel towels over the seat. Nellis, Nevada > Baltimore, MD > Northern NJ > Mississippi > Louisiana > Nellis Nevada. What a great ride!
Riding different types of bikes is the best way to become a better rider. I hope one day I can do what you’re doing and take road trip on a big Harley. I to am a naked bike person but I need to really ride some other types of bikes. Have fun and stay safe Doodle.
Supercool! Glad your not riding at night. Goodluck! I haven't taken a road trip on my 2018 Indian Springfield yet. I got it last December. Haven't really had much spare time. Your husband is very understanding
Great video! Prepping for my first ever long road trip, going from the West to the East Coast of Australia (Perth to Melbourne) on a Road King - 3,000+ miles in 14 days. Your videos are a great help for all my planning that I needed to do!
Thrilled you are taking us along with you. Thanks @Doodle On A Motorcycle You really are one of the greatest influences on other female riders or those who will be future riders.
You’re going to love the comfort of that bike on this long trip. I’m praying for your safe travel and wishing you the most wonderful adventure ever!!!! 🙏♥️🙏
Hydration is key. I found that I was not as sore when I drank mostly water. We also took a break every two hours and took Tylenol before we left everyday.
I took a 1.5k miles trip. 3k round. From Montana to Oregon. Wasn’t to bad on a Honda goldwing. Enough storage but wasn’t to planned. The first day was miserable due to heat and smoke. But still a good trip
Now will have to call you Ironbutt Doodle... That fairing will help a lot with the fatigue. Good luck on your trip and remember to keep the rubber side down. Also when I go on sole trips be it the trails or a Bonzai run to Vegas I always carry my SPOT GEN4 Satellite GPS Messenger it keeps you in touch with your loved ones as well as in case of an emergency the SOS button will be a pinpoint you in a jiffy. On my old FLHS bagger, every 100 miles or fuel-up was a good time to stretch the ole legs.
Doodle, you are a very capable lady and can ride any bike. Although a male, I rode my earlier years (54 years riding) alone as most folks looked down on bikes when I started in 1967. I have full faith you will be fine and will enjoy yourself. On long trips, I pack for four days and do laundry along the way with a good book to pass the laundry room time. A taller windshield would serve you better. I replaced a 2014 Ultra Classic with a 2019 Street Glide Special and added a 10 inch windshield. Ride on!
A backrest can allow you to spread out and vary your weight distribution--and can prevent you from impacting packs on the back behind you. It also enables you to relax muscle tension.
Cruiser bikes can be harder on your back because you tend to slouch..well.. I did..so now she's gone, and the screens can drive you mad if they are not set up right. Sometimes its easier without them. Your trip will teach you lots. Relax and enjoy..Great videos
Looking forward to seeing your first road trip. My ear plugs are from Lowes, the contractor package, long wearing and comfortable. And after this trip, that clutch hand will handle Atlanta traffic like a pro. If I see a Red Street Glide with a petite rider wearing a white Corsair, I'll give you a wave.
Yes the stock Street Glide shield sucks. It is the first thing I change. For me I run a Freedom Shields 9" tour windscreen. Once you find the right combination of shield, helmet, lowers or fangs you end up in a nice calm bubble that is a joy on the highway. I have a bad neck and have had spinal fusion so I have to care for it. My setup has me in a buffet free environment that is nice and quiet. Enjoy your trip.
Hi Doodle. Long time Harley rider here. Look for a pair of fairing wind deflectors at any Harley dealer. They make a huge difference in buffeting and install in 5 minutes. Have a great trip.
My long ride bike of choice was a used Honda VFR 800 . I went from Tulsa to Chicago and back and from Tulsa to Orlando , up to Augusta Georgia ( visited my Sister and her family ) , down to the Florida gulf coast ending in Georgia , up through Louisiana ...Texas and back to Oklahoma alone and without a GPS. I looked at a map the night before wrote down highway numbers and changes used big markers to write with and put it in the clear top cover of my tank bag. Since your traveling alone I would suggest a good can of fix a flat with a flexible nozzle. Just use it to get you to a close bike shop for repairs not to travel on. I was real glad to see you had a tire gauge. Check your tire pressure at every gas fill up especially on that big bike. Be safe and use that smart brain of yours...I hope you have a GREAT trip!
Wow. Have fun! My friend just returned from a trip like that. Just be careful with a big bike. Send videos of the places you go. Such a beautiful machine!
Doodlenation is real! I am so excited for you. About ten years ago I did a San Francisco to Boston run on a Dyna and did it alone and had a blast. I love riding into big cities I’ve never been to before and Harley’s do that really really well. Cheers!
I'm envious! I haven't done a solo road trip before but I'm looking forward to that when the weather cools off a bit. You'll do great doodle; as it seems like you've covered your safety contingencies. Most of all, have fun!
My little brown doodle - now you impress me. You have come a long way and worked your way up to this Harley ride👍 Its good to hear you are thinkink of your personal safety, going by yourself like this. I am sure you will enjoy it, but you will not avoid a sore ass this first time. 😁 I wish you all the best of luck and may God be with you. Looking forward to hear how it went.
I hear you, and I have finally settled on two bikes for now, my Goldwing Tour DCT for long trips, and a Suzuki VStrom 650 for just kicking around town and some of the short twisty runs close by.
Congrats on the decision to do the trip. I ride a Gold Wing and have done lots of solo trips. Enjoy yourself. Other that Atlanta, Georgia is great for riding. Be safe.
Get a set of custom molded noise attenuation ear plugs made; your ears will love you and the comfort will be amazing. almost any hearing clinic can get them made for you. Just make sure you tell the person doing the ear impressions that you want slim profile design for added comfort under a motorcycle helmet.
I remember when I bought my 2005 gsxr 600 in Miami and was heading cross country back home here to Seattle all alone. At first I was nervous as all get out. But after a few miles that scare all went away and I had a blast. I think you will experience the same thing. Enjoy the trip can’t wait to see the footage. Ride safe
Awesome! Not a ‘harley’ guy, but have rented them and the cruisers are impressive! If your back hurts, but a bag behind you as a back rest. Great job packing too! I like to travel light, and the amazing thing is wherever I go, there is a store selling whatever I forgot!
Nice Doodle, You’re so Amazing! I absolutely luv the fact that you are fearless and even if you have some uncertainty you stir up the courage to overcome. I’m a fan as long as you keep being you and making these Awesome videos. Thanks I can’t wait to see more. Be safe and healthy inside your body 😉🤙🏼
Awesome news Doodle! I hope you have the most fun of your life Lady! After putting my money down on a Pan America I have only respect for Harley Davidson. I was never a Harley fanboy but after experiencing the way they treat people at the dealership is totally amazing. All the new bikes are beautiful. Please take good care of yourself Lady or "Future Doodle" will be very angry with you! Peace Lady! 🙌👏👌✌🖖🤙👍👋🙂🌹
You are a great inspiration for non-adventrous types. I love your daring spirit. I, along with many of your subscribers will pray for your successful and safe journey. After your journey is complete, You may become a Harley girl for life. From what I've heard and witnessed, it almost seems a big Harley is one if the easiest and most maneuverable bikes out there, so enjoy being the boss over that massive machine. Stay safe and have fun.
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle They could use a "creeper" forward and reverse gear. Surprised they haven't come up with that yet. 900 lbs doesn't move too easily when its up to you to do the moving. Underway, you're gonna like it...I think
You inspire me! I love the motorcycle gator - missed getting the first round of gators... Thanks for sharing all. Looking forward to my own solo adventure. The Google map share is a great tip - especially for our families and spouses.❤️
Make sure you keep the fairing vent open. Makes a difference. Once you do enough miles on it you will start to relax....much of that pain will go away. Solo road trips are the best! Cruise control is a beautiful thing. Stay safe and enjoy!
Cold weather gear. You NEED it! Getting cool at night up north. 30-40 degree temperature swings right now. Once you get cold on that bike you won’t get warm for a while. You won’t know if your going to make it to your planned stops each day in the time frame you have planned for each days route. Be careful and enjoy! Also highway pegs and as someone else mentioned change that windshield to get rid of the noise and buffeting!

I HATE the big Harley on gravel and low speed but UNBEATABLE on open roads. Enjoy!
Just did about 4,500 miles on my fatboy and the only bad part was having to stop for gas. Get a backrest.

You’re so Amazing!
Peace Lady!
🙌👏👌✌🖖🤙👍👋🙂🌹
Doodle McNoodle going to the dark side. I hope u enjoy the dark side as much as I do.
Street Glide - N-I-C-E!!!
Good luck.
Definitely wouldn’t call this big girl easy 😅 at least not every time I put my feet down… maybe in motion
You are so brave! I’m excited to hear about your road trip.
Be safe and good luck on your journey 😊💯
Good job by the Harley dealer for making it happen 👍🏻 Also, better content taking such a beast on the road trip! 💪🏻💪🏻
So cool! I am planning on a nice road trip myself on my new GS Adventure! I will definitely be following you! Stay safe!
I pack throw away clothes mostly shirts , and buy some on the way for collecting , also laundry pods are small . have fun
Good to see you on a bagger. Gotta love the cruise control though. Safe travels.
Beautiful bike...just like the driver..congratulations...have fun..harleys are fun...
Make sure you keep the fairing vent open. Makes a difference. Once you do enough miles on it you will start to relax....much of that pain will go away. Solo road trips are the best! Cruise control is a beautiful thing. Stay safe and enjoy!
Super excited for you 😃 have a great trip Doodle 👍
Shiny side up, Sunshine!! Ooooosooooexciting................
You said you had back pain from the HD also, look into a drivers back rest makes a big difference
Be safe....happy trails....2 wheels up
GOD BLESS YOU! Just watched you with Motorman . I’m so proud of you. I’m a dad of 3 beautiful young ladies like yourself! HOORAH!
Ahhh thank you!!! Now I just need to keep practicing so I don’t lose it like I did 3 years ago!
