So glad Redeeming Love is on your TBR. It’s one of my favorite books. The vanishing at castle Moreau is a good spooky Christian fiction book for this time of year! 😊
The Invisible life of Addie LaRue is about a girl who makes a deal with death to escape being forced to marry someone horrible. But the deal makes everyone forget her and she lives forever. She always knows who she is, but no one remembers her.
lol not at all. It’s the first sentence of every description of the book. “A young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets.” is the first sentence about the book on Good Reads
I have to out myself , I was looking for tbr videos and clicked on your video because I thought you were really pretty. You seem really nice and I think I have to subscribe to you. Love from Germany ❤
I read the whole housemaid series so fast on kindle on my iPad. I finished it yesterday, I thought by the third book I would have some sense of the twist but nope I was wrong. Super fast reads and satisfying endings ❤
Great TBR!! I’ve read all of these except for Mary Jane and they were all great! Addie LaRue and Anatomy are the standouts for me from this list 😊 Hope you have a great reading month!
I HIGHLY recommend Mary Jane as an audiobook! The book has some songs in it and if you listen to the audiobook, they actually will sing the songs. Songs are not my style either, but I still loved it. This book was such a surprise for me since I typically don't enjoy anything that this book is about. The narrator is perfect for the book. I'm not usually interested in character-based books, but for some reason I can't ever stop thinking about this book.
I didn’t know the sequel to Anatomy was out!!! 😮 Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries is super cute! Very cozy. Best saved for winter (but I enjoyed it in August too).
Is that heartless hunter on your shelf I see👀 that book still lives rent free in my brain lol still so sad I have to wait until next year for the second book 🥲
I went into ACOSF blind and I was not prepared for the type of spice in that one. It was shocking .. but I do still joke with my husband with this one line.."a queen triumphant" iykyk LOL.. also Nesta was not my favorite.. I hated being in her head and she frustrated me a lot tbf. I'm glad I stuck with it but it took me a long time to get through that one. I added Redeeming Love to my list! ☺
I just read The Invisible life of Addie LaRue with my girlfriends for our little book club and filmed a reading vlog for it, we had different opinions about the book but personally I loved it! I think it's also great for fall and her writing is quite lyrical so if you enjoy that I think you'll really like the book. 🥰
Just re-found your channel. Loved the video, can't wait to watch more. ACOSF had a solid plot (did have a lot of smut), but if you're a Nesta apologist, you will love it (and honestly, had great new characters in it, that's def smth to look forward to). And for Christian books, I'm always looking for recommendation so looking forward to more in the future 😄. I would def recommend The Imitation of Christ - it's non-fiction, and it's old, I read it more like a passage per day kinda thing but it's crazy wise but in a simplistic/straight-forward prose?/writing?.
Redeeming love will forever be my favorite book. I read it when I was 17. I read about 100 books a year now, all genres like you but that book just stuck.
A Christian fiction series I really loved is A Time To Die, by Nadine Brandes. It’s set in a dystopian world where people have a clock that tells them the day they’re going to die. That’s really all you need to know, just read it!
Please, please read " A thousand broken pieces" by Tillie Cole. I ❤ it so much, it is really deep, sad but oh so beautiful! I read " redeeming love " more than 20 years ago.... I cried soooooooo much! So beautiful!
Hi, Allyssa!!, I hope you doing well, it's nice to see your bookish recommendations, I'm going to recommend to you my favorite book of all time that has to be in common ground Christian lit, I read it in Spanish but you can get the book in English and the book it's called: Taylor Caldwell is the author and the name is: "Dear and Glorious Physician" its a great book and I want to share with you this good piece of lit, greetings!!
I have a question purely out of curiosity, not criticism, that I’m hoping someone (not necessarily Allyssa) can answer…lots of Booktubers talk about this activity getting them out of their comfort zone and reading things they otherwise wouldn’t, but then all their picks come off a shelf of physical books they already own? Are lots of people buying books they “wouldn’t normally read”?
I think when people buy books in a genre they wouldn't usually read its because the book might have elements they like reading about but talked about in a new way. Like a romance reader might try sci fi or historical fiction with romance in it. Other than that people might buy books just because they're popular and there in the store so why not? (I personally don't so I'm just guessing here)
Also if it’s a popular book/author. I typically hate romcom but I bought “betting on you” by Liz painter since people raved about her writing and I loved it! But would have never bought it had I not seen so many reviews.

you need more horror books in your collection t do you read any horror ha!?
ACOSF isn’t THAT spicy. There are probably 2 explicit scenes. Its more character driven. Anyone who says its very spice hasn’t read actual spice 🤭
