Thanks Gary!! Glad you liked the video. Burgundy is a must-visit for any wine lover or traveler. Hopefully we can get back there someday when the weather is a little warmer.
Just discoverd your videos. Really enjoying and appreciating them in advance of our trip to France in March. We're taking a similar route from Paris to Lyon via Burgundy. Looks like you guys relied on trains. Wondering if you have any specific recommendations and how did you navigate once in Dijon, Beaune, and Lyon. The freedom of a rental through Burgundy is intriguing, but public transit seems like it could be much simpler. Thanks in advance.
Thanks Bobby!! We love train travel in France. Fast efficient and not super expensive. Trains will get very close to the city center in Beaune, Dijon and Lyon. From there just take Uber to hotel if you have to. The only place I’d consider getting a vehicle is Burgundy. You’ll have a great time and really appreciate the feedback on the videos!!!
Trains are the only way to go in France. Clean, fast, affordable and punctual! We stayed in the Hotel Oceania Le Jura Dijon. Historic, reasonably priced, in the Old Town. Good luck on your tour!
@@Jmp5nb we had a great time in France. Public transportation in Paris was a bit iffy due to strikes, but trains to Djion, Beaune, and Lyon were definitely the way to go. We loved it!
@@bobbyvick10 Glad to hear that! We made many happy memories over the weeks we stayed in France-I hope your memories are as wonderful! It’s hard to overstate the ease of use and affordability the French railway offers.
Thanks Orlando!! At the time we booked it, I believe it was a Small Group Tour Full Day. Tasting and Beaune visit. I think they might change throughout the seasons. I’d email them.
Do they offer tasting of rare specialty wines? I was surprised to learn recently that Burgundy also produces a sparkling red called Bourgogne Mousseux. It is usually a blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay. This is their second sparkling wine after Crémant de Bourgogne. I'm curious to try this one day.
We only tried the wines they had lined up for us on the tour (which I thought were all fantastic). I’m sure they would be able to point you in the right direction to find a bottle of that particular sparkling wine though. They were extremely knowledgeable
That sounds like a great trip. We stayed in Dijon, just a short train ride away. Check out our Dijon video, good place to stay if visiting Burgundy and our hotel was 5 minutes from the train station.
@@SwayPromo on second thought it’s probably more like 30 minutes. I think it was 15 mins from Dijon to start reaching the Burgundy Villages by train. Still…not far
Hallo Matt and Rach. nice to meet you. I am going to champagne and burgundy next Jun. I would like to do that tour. could you tell me how to get with that tour wine guide Jeremie? please ,?thank you a lot . hope you can answer because I am planing my trip. thank you.
A lot of the wineries are closed in December for holiday. We did a cellar tasting which, in my opinion, was just as cool as visiting another winery. For everything I didn’t think it was that expensive to be honest.
beautiful I love French wine
Matt n Rach , Excellent coverage of Burgundy and the amazing wines...keep it up...
Thanks Anand!! Appreciate it. Glad you liked the video!!
Hi Matt! I'm the one who did the wine tour with you. Glad to see you here :) It was literally one of the best moments in my life.
Hey what’s going on!! Good to hear from you. Definitely was an awesome day for sure. Lots of fun and great wines. Glad you got to see it.
Took this same tour-awesome guide! Informative, funny, and so knowledgeable of his turf! The Red phone booth and Jeremie!

Hey great video! Which cellar did you guys taste the wine in Beaune?
Thanks Julia....the cellar was owned by the company doing the tour. We'd definitely recommend using that company if you are traveling to Burgundy.

Hi Matt,
Awesome video and very informative.
Can please share which package you selected out of the packages offer by Authentica? Thank you!

We are going in September. We are going to rent bikes to see the city and wineries. Any suggestions on where to stay?

@@mattnrach2016 i want to stay at one of the wineries. I saw one in the town of Beaune. How far is that from Dijon? On train?
That’s a good option too I’m sure. If I recall, Beaune is maybe 15 minutes or so by train from Dijon.

Awesome video,, was this wine tour expensive ?
Thanks!! I think it was between $150-200 per person. Any wine you purchase is obviously extra as well as lunch in town.

An expensive wine tour from jeremie only arranged visiting 2 wineries ? I would love to get 3 / a day at least
