Great road and vid, i searched that chip interchange on google maps, never seen anything like that. A creative way to prevent merge problems and traffic jams. I also love the way in which the I-290 and the I-294 'cross' each other. Looking forward to see more of Chicago!
H Hoef Thanks! Actually that interchange could be better. The best part is the spur from I-88 East to I-294 East. As for Chicago vids, I have a few and I'll show them during the course of the year.
Excellent vid! The 290 truck split also reminds me of the truck bypass on I-5 & 405 south of LA. What more do you have our awaiting eyes? And if I can make a request. I would love to see a vid of US 30 from I-80 in Joliet to I-57 in Matteson. Also, loved the soundtrack! Liquid Soul is one of my fav's. Keep up the good work!
Jonathan Crockett Thanks. That stretch of U.S. 30 isn't my cup of tea, but I'm glad it's been improved. I'll probably redo an I-80 video between Joliet and the South Suburbs that I first did in 2012. I got plenty of stuff and more I'll shoot.
Excellent looking video and a great ride. The road looked fine and there wasn't really that much traffic to slow you down. Even the music seemed to fit. Thanx for posting this.
I was rewatching this vid just because I wanted to see the west suburbs again. I noticed something odd on 355. I see the IL Tollway Authority is adding exit numbers. What prompted this change?
Trucks are allowed on I-290, but what was done to redo the Hillside Strangler was to split the traffic flow for cars and trucks. Truck traffic goes to the right and the rest to the left. This created better merging opportunities on the main road while semis used the local lanes for a brief period along with traffic wanting to exit on Mannheim. Think of it like the express-local setup on the Dan Ryan.

i live off of I290 at exit #5. the Suburban roads around Chicago are epic
Brian Wells They are. The tollway is doing its best work.
Very cool video! My office is in the office park just off 355 and IL-56 and my girlfriend works south of the 355/88 split.
dave11686 Thanks. Hopefully you get views of the interchange.

Awesome video !! .. Love the track that you chose to go with the sights and sounds of Chicago . Very fitting !!
***** Thanks. The track was more of a "Plan B" for me, but I'm glad it worked out.
I think it was a great choice too.
That was a great ride, and loved the soundtrack.
That's MUCH better!
DeaconG1959 Thanks, although I still a little perturbed over the "Black in Black" not working out. But you move on ..."

The New IL 390 westbound Flyover ramp Open up on Monday
At the end I noticed that trucks are prohibited onto 290. Do you know why this might be?
