I enjoy your videos so much! So, here I am at 59 yrs.old and recently diagnosed with MS. I have been a vegetarian for 46 years, then a WFPB diet for over 10yrs as well as gluten free. Still, here I am. Only 8 years ago, I taught 4 fitness classes per day before 10 am. 5 days per week. I taught resistance training, 2 aerobic classes, and senior fitness classes each day. Today, I can do about 20 minutes of walking with a cane, and after simple hoousehold tasks, need to rest about 20 minutes. I just began my Ocrevus treatments, and still believe the WFPB diet is the healthiest diet. I am hoping and praying I can get back to some sort of physical exercise daily. This is all new to me, and such a polar opposite of my lifelong active lifestyle. Your videos help keep me hopeful.
Thanks for watching Elizabeth! Good on you for your healthy lifestyle! Perhaps it kept the symptoms at bay for years. Keep trying to take exquisite care of yourself. I encourage you to examine these four areas; diet, exercise, sleep, & mindfulness/kindness. Any tweaks you can make? Any improvements will help support your health and well-being.
Hello. Please throw your knee jerk reaction out the window as I say this. In full love, please look into Carnivore diet. PLEASE, in relation to auto immune, and read ALL comments and testemonials. You have nothing to loose just looking.
I am so happy that more attention is being paid to PIRA. When I was 31 years old, I was hit by a severe optic neuritis attack that left my right eye completely blinded for several weeks. Fifteen years later, I would be diagnosed with MS. But that optic neuritis attack would be my only "relapse/remit" episode, with most of my adult life being plagued with non-specific issues like overwhelming fatigue that got worse over the years, gradually worsening cognitive function, and this very slow, gradual weakening in my right foot that has taken several years to emerge as an obstacle to long walks in hot weather. My neurologist labeled my MS as being "benign". But what I think I had was "smoldering MS", given the progression of these symptoms. Since my doc has been ordering MRIs with NeuroQuant analysis, we have discovered that my brain is severely atrophied (the atrophy is not even that evident by visual inspection of my MRIs, but the algorithmic analysis shows, for example, that my hippocampus volume is at the 1 percentile for my gender/age group, and correspondingly, my ventricular volume is at the 96 percentile (as the brain atrophies, those ventricles get larger and more open). She was so shocked by the first report that she thought something went wrong with the testing. The results .... explained a lot, regarding my daily cognitive struggles. Disability and brain damage happens EVEN when there are no distinct relapse/remit episodes and even when no large new lesions are apparent on MRIs (lesion-wise, my MRIs look virtually unchanged over the past 25 years that I've been having them). In my opinion, "benign MS" is another word for PIRA, which is anything but benign!
Thank you for sharing your story. Benign MS may indeed include PIRA. It will be interesting to see how the treatment or acknowledgement of PIRA moves forward.
Hsct stops PIRA/smoldering atrophy.....see "normal brain atrophy after hsct for ms" first hsct done in u.s. in 1999 in San Diego.. now being done at ucirvine "ucirvine ms reboot"
Yes...neurodegeneration is there in all ms ..given enough time/ageing all ms is ppms... see "scalfari all ms is ppms" see "scalfari ms progression is just ageing"
My 58 year old daughter was diagnosed at only 12 years old with MS. She’s having a lot of pain and horrible mood swings, and her eyes are severely damaged because of MS. I just found your channel and I’m trying to find some ways she can be helped. Thanks for this helpful video. I’m subscribing and will continue to watch
Did you hear of the new research that shows a link between Diet and MS? It looks like eating a Keto diet with lots of Omega 3 fatty acids, nuts and avocados opposed to fatty bacon and such has shown great promise. This could be a breakthrough. Just found out. See research done In Oklahoma 10 days ago on diet and MS.
I did see that study! Exciting stuff! It is a highly structured keto diet with lots of omega 3s and fiber. I am a bit hesitant about it though as it was a relatively short study (around 5 weeks) and has only been done on the mouse model of MS. Still, it is very exciting to see studies on diet being done!
channel; LIVE DISEASE FREE shares info ect to support the premise that parasites are a cause of MS. A few Canadian MD's offer a protocol, and she shares case studies. Thanks for all that you are doing!
I bought the NuStep recumbant stepper 10 years ago and it still inspires me. I look foward to using it combined w other activities. It keeps me moving! Im 64 diagnosed in 2009 and think im starting to get Piro symptoms.
Alcohol has also been proven to cause brain shrinkage in any amount according to Dr Andrew Huberman, neurobiologist at stamford. I greatly reduced my alcohol consumption and have now cut it out. Exercise is a big one for me and games that require strategy.
Thanks for watching. I am familiar with doctor Huberman and will check out what he has to say about alcohol. You are so right the games that require strategy are so good for us.
A carnivore whole food diet also is very healthy ❤ check out the background of deity worship by performing yoga. Best just to stretch. I was looking for a description of smoldering MS, I am a registered nurse, and was looking for anatomy physiology pathophysiology.
Thanks for watching! I definitely practice yoga. Sorry, I won’t be going carnivore though. 😉 I try to live vegan and there is too many long term and large studies showing how saturated fats are not good for us with MS.
On my channel I share my thoughts on living well with MS and I cite research and reference articles. It doesn’t mean my thoughts will agree with everyone. I saw your other comment about the carnivore diet and would say that my channel is probably not for you. I wish you well though!
What steps will you take to support your brain health?

The brain is made of fat.
This is an uneducated video.
Dr Chaffe is most excellent.
Dr Ken Berry
Dr Elizabeth Bright.
Scientist Bart Kay.
The brain is made of Fat.
Why have you made this video as though you are an advisor?
It is empty.
What was the point ?
