I love the looks of the Countach. Every boy wanted a poster of one in their bedroom in the 80s and 90s. I had a poster of a silver 25th anniversary model on my wall back in the early 2000s.
I just hate that US safety specs had to have those god awful 5 mph bumpers on the US models.

Perfection is an illusion. Most ppl view these things as icons, they polish that in their mind moving to perfection. When faced with reality you get all the nuance which for better or worse completes the package. But those w/ perfection crafted prior to experiencing the real thing get lost w/ whats presented to them. I try and keep that in the back of my mind when I experience certain things.

The Countach, vs a Ferrari 308 it would totally smoke that car. It would also outrun a flat 12 Ferrari Testarossa. Thing was a freaking rocket ship in terms of early/mid 1980's cars, faster than the Porsche 911 Turbo. Although the Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959 redefined speed in road legal cars by 1986-87, but before then the Countach was the king of speed.
