@@tomk8350 I am not a good guitarist, and would consider myself to have a rookie opinion at best. But I fucking love it it seems like a 90% perfect guitar for me, would probs suggest swapping out for locking tuners for stability tho. But for the price I’d be impressed if you could find anything better than it tbh.
I just acquired the V and the Rhoads here in Australia. I have a few 7 strings. Does it feel (playability/fit/finish etc) than my higher end USA BC Rich/Bernie Rico Jr/Schecter Loomis 7 strings? No. But …. At this price point, I always ask this one question. “Is it trash”? The answer … “Definitely not”! For the asking price, these guitars are truly good. I can’t buy a 7 string guitar kit here in Australia for 2/3’s of the price for what this is. I can not for the life of me think of any other 7 strings out there (especially at 26.5’ scale) that’s as good, if not better than what Jackson have brought to the table. These will sell out quick for what you get. Great review by the way. 👌
How are you finding tuning stability? Do fancy one of these as a wee mod project but dare say if it's solid enough I'd be happy chugging away at home without mucking around changing nut, tuners etc.
My mouth literally dropped to the floor when I saw Jackson marketing both the king V and Rhoads V in 7 string for a whoppin $250 😲😲 I'm a true to the core classic fender/gibby lover and can't do modern metal designs but goddamn are these enticing me to death! Would not mind owning them because why the hell not?? Jackson has KILLED it lately so kudos 🤘
Great video! Helped me decide to buy this guitar. This thing is Awesome! Bought it two days ago. For practice and just for fun. Because of looks, hardtail, colour and shape. You can tell it is made in china, but it plays grat and sounds great. For tuning stability just change nut and put on locking tuners. I use 66, 52, 42, 30, 17, 13, 10 gauge strings for GDADGBE tuning. Holds up well. Stock pickups sounds decent. Probably need rewiring with better parts if want to keep stock pickups. Neck dive - just change neck strap button location, drill it in the neck joint plate or use spot for one of the bolts that holds neck. (Will need different screw) I am planing to make new, more quality body. Btw I was looking at 2000Eur Gibson Flying V and build quality looked exactly the same like Jacksons. Trust me, this guitar is worth the money, I wish this exact model would be available as x or pro series, but this is great! I just love it!
this seems to be such a sweetspot of different things I've been looking for V, 7 string, hardtail, affordable, only thing I would change is the matte black for something more visually interesting but that could be a cool project. This will be on my list for sure.
hey mate got a few v shaped guitars - try the classical possition and strech your right leg or elevate your left leg by stepping on something laying around you for example. Both techniques are way more comfy than trying to hold that thing between your legs and looking a bit funny in my opinion. You can also just use a strap that's an option too :)
I find Vs more comfortable to play sitting down than standard shapes. Assuming you're right-handed: put your right leg inside the V, so the lower horn sits between your legs. If you can slightly elevate your left leg, that will make it even more comfortable. Should be fine without squeezing your legs together with a symmetrical V - Randy Rhoads is trickier in that respect, but once you get the knack for it, can also be very comfortable. One thing that I guess bothers people, is the different position of your picking arm. With a V in the classical position, your arm is closer to your body, your hand further to the left, than with your classic round body shapes. Personally, I find this much more comfortable and relaxing than having to keep my shoulder up and elbow out on a traditional body shape. But I played a V for years before getting any other shapes, so I guess it's just what you're used to.
Very nice video. Awesome guy, very informative and descriptive. That clean tone though….😍 It’s made me now go and order it payday, thank you so much! :)
It looks like you are the sole reviewer of this guitar. Odd, being that this model is currently selling out at a lot of outlets. I think that it suddenly became talked about a lot in forums, word spread, and a lot of players like me purchased one of these. Therefore, one might expect to see a lot of reviews, unboxings, etc.; but you don't se any other yt's of this guitar ... Good presentation, by the way. And great playing. I like my js22-7 kv.
Thanks for this. I was going to get it precisely for the angle at which a typical V would hang. Now I know it doesn't do the one thing I wanted it for (as opposed to the 7 strings I already own), I will skip it.
I just got the rhoades version js22, its insane looks deadley. Have to get use to a larger scale thow its bigger then norm but worth it. Gonna prob swap pickups to maybe emg. But thats all u will have to do with it. These guitars are worth then money for sure.!!.. awsome video btw.
I can’t seem to find this guitar anywhere in the UK. It’s either sold out of on pre-order…? Does this mean it’s not released yet? Or you’re able to buy it and check out, but it won’t be delivered for months?
Great review man! I have the original "super strat" version of this. What IRs did u say u were using in this one? And also, what tunning? Sounds tougher than mine lol
Yeah, no problem! Although I recommend you to get some Graphtech nut, hipshot bridge and locking tuners! I have the “super strat” version, and unfortunately mine gave me some problems when it comes to tuning stability and intonation but everything is just fine now!
Props to this guy for even showing us, most reviews don't and they should because it's a deal breaker for me too BUT - I've been looking at the location of the strap nut, I think it can be relocated to the bass side neck bolt. And with some fishing weights in the electronics cavity it could be more playable. I honestly can't figure out why companies refuse to consider neck dive when engineering their guitars. I know it can be done. I've played with the idea of building my own just to prove the concept, spent years thinking about it.
Just change position of strap button. I drilled hole in metal plate that is on the back. Right between neck screws that are more on neck side. Screw strap button there. And that was it, problem solved.
The deadly tone the guitar gives off somewhat makes up for the headstock shape I wasn’t a fan of it either when I first saw it online but it’s kinda growing on me now to each their own
I’m pretty sure this is the first video on this guitar and I’ve been waiting for one for over a month lol
Same here!!!
i swear i’ve seen you before
3:30 "theres a little bit of dive"
Headstock literally touching the floor 😂
Just change location of neck strap button, it is to far away from neck.
Getting mine in 3-5 business days. Really looking forward to shredding on this bad boy. 🤘
How is it? I'm debating whether to go with the v or the special edition maple fretboard one.
Thoughts?
Update?
Bought one as soon as i saw it.

Same here. Not a bad fiddle at all, especially at its price tag.
I just got a Jackson JS Series JS22-7 RR and it is awesome.
Does the head falls down like this one? When you let go?
@pedroRodriguesMD I would guess it definitely does bc body would be even lighter

I just bought the Rhoads version! Super stoked to see you get such great sounds out of the Kerry King model.
getting mine soon, very excited
Great job with excellent attention to detail 🙏🏼

Cool report , awesome chug’s
To fix the neck dive change the position of the strap knob on the back side of the body
I really dig the s style hard tail bridge these kinds of bridges feel a lot better for palm muting for me over a tune-o-matic or something
Wow thats sick. Jackson have done it again. I have problem trying sitting down play a v shape. Any advice?
Classical?

Jeeeeez pickin mine up today 💀🖤🤘🎶🎶🎶
Bought this today. Have an agile 8 string and a gretsch baritone 6. Perfect in the middle guitar 😊

I'm hard riffing Simon & Garfunkel on mine.
My favourite Death Metal Band

Is it worth buying to upgrade the hardware?
I'm thinking bridge replacement, locking tuners, better nut and maybe even a refinish.
Absolutely! Everything on it is a great starter, but it also gives you room to add the things you were talking about.
Does this stay in tune well? Im getting mine in april and was hoping that not having a trem would help it stay in tune
I've just bought one but not sure which case/bag to go for - budget is less than £100
Our go to cases & bags for guitars like this is the Gator Extreme series. They do a bag and a hard case:)

I might get one I rather get one of these than pay rent because a 7 string king V looks badass

Yeah, that neck dive is exactly what I was worried about with that 7-string semi-baritone neck. I imagine it's even worse on the RR model.
a good strap will help alot

Orlando Bloom ????
