Should You Buy a Glass Mousepad?

- The Superglide mousepad is finally here.
It’s Pulsar’s first premium glass pad and while it looks incredible, it’s playing catch up. The glass mousepad market has been dominated by SkyPAD for a long time. They’ve produced some of the highest quality hard pads for years.
But is Pulsar’s Superglide pad both cheaper, and better than the SkyPAD? Let's find out.

This title is misleading. You're not evaluating whether people should get a glass pad, but which one they should get if they already think they do
yup. got baited here. this shit should be pointed out more.
As someone who has to move their setup a few times a year I would be incredibly worried about damaging a glass pad.
Do NOT get baited by this video into buying it. It's fcking HORRIBLE
I have a similar experience so I don’t think this is for me
they are surprisingly durable to falls if at the boardzy channel he throws a glass mousepad on the concrete and it remain unscathed.
@@reverseplant5834 yeah i saw that also they last a long time and theyre easily cleanable thats a really good thing
theyre tempered glass.. at least the skypad is idk about the superglide. But you can drop the skypad on the ground and it will be fine.
I've been using a skypad for almost 2 years now and I can say, if your interested get a plastic hardpad first. Much cheaper and less of a commitment as a glass pad. If you enjoy a plastic hard pad and wear it out like I did I can reccomend an upgrade
Wait, are glass mousepads 'in' again? *dusts off ~22 year old Clanbase Icemat*
holy fuck lol
Always have been. My 5 year old Nedis glass pad says hi
Longevity is a huge reason why these can be quite popular if kept up and cleaned occasionally. Razer brought one out recently which is not expected and reviews are good alongside the super glide pad, so there's future potential. Just hope they can make them a bit slower cause goddamn they're too speedy.
(Pad gets a splinter while playing)

i main superglide mouse feet, dont really like hard pads, because of the feel on your arm. the superglides and a 48g x2 works great for me
not for everyone but pulsars compression sleeves stop that from happening and they're actually pretty comfortable
@@5eymour8utz I can second this. The arm sleeve is very comfy. Does NOT work for cloth obviously but 🤷
Here’s a tip, if you don’t want to pay high prices for a piece of glass just buy the biggest iPad or Tab screen protector and stick it to your table and works the same for a fraction of the cost and most times you get 2 or 3 protectors you can always combine them.
Superglides are better once the coating wears off of them. I've been using a X-ray Thor and a Glorious Ice with them and originally the Superglides caused the mouse to repeatedly slide off my desk but after the wear in they glide less but are still extremely smooth to use, smoother than normal PTFE skates.
I don’t care, give me my femboy mousepad.
Trapsenpai has you covered
Based.
Based
Based
Based and goated
You should've tried the Cerapad Kin. It's a glass pad as well but it's more focused on control. I've been using the Skypad 3.0 for over a year now since the Kickstarter and at first it was way too fast for me but now that I've adapted I love it.
Does it wear down, or how often do you have to change out your mousekskates, cos rn im using razors sphex v3, and the surface is goooone, and not as smooth anymore witb my ptfe mouseskates being worn down
im so jealous of that Yuki aim sky pad, been wanting one for so long just dont have $600 for a mouse pad lol.
Anyone getting a glass mousepad have to be prepared to wipe it down with a cloth after almost every game. This thing picks up dust fast and wears down skates quickly.
this definetly missed the mark for me, i think they got the wrong person to do this review, its hard for someone that isnt well practiced in mouse control to use a glass pad and then review it
Honestly if you want to spend money a good mousepad, just buy the Artisan Hien. It may be a steep price but it practically lasts forever if you take care of it, and is amazingly high quality both in look and feel. (:
it doesnt last forever stop spreading misinfo lol.
hayate otsu>>
Lethal gaming gear Saturn and Venus is much better than all artisan pads to be honest
Hien is not durable at all it wares down very fast on some spots it's much better options on the market like the lgg Saturn lgg Venus and artisan raiden
I have artisan zero
They do get dirty and take some time to break in. I find using a magic easier helps me get them right. I’m glad I got black. I literally have to take a flashlight and hold it certain way to see the flakes of the mouse skates that stick to the pad. I clean it regularly. Love it though kore than my skypad 3.0
Don't waste your Money on an Mousepad just bc its expensive or Pro Players use it. I use an 30$ Mousepad from Roccat and im pretty good with it.
You can get away with spending a lot less than 30$ on a great pad. My cheapest pad was just 3€ and I used it for a couple months. It was a no name deskmat size mousepad with a 3mm rubber base and a smooth polyester surface, the glide was great, I prefered it over my more expensive pads. The only reason I stopped using it was because i wanted to try cordura and that's what I'm currently using. A MP511 that I got for 10€ on amazon.
I also just bought a skypad because i think I will really like the surface. I got it for 74€ on amazon and it'll arrive next week. Usually I wouldn't spend that much on a pad but I always really wanted to try glass and I probably wouldn't be able to get a high quality XL glass pad at that price any time soon again.
i wanna know what u consider as "you are good with it" 🤣
even if they are glass, they are pretty durable
for example boardzy made a video about throwing a skypad on the new york concrete and it's still fine
Glass is glass as jerry once said
as someone who regularly smashes desk in anger this is a no go lol
>thank u company for sending us the mousepads
>this video is NOT sponsored so I will be completely honest
Truly pepega
yeah skypad on sale is a lot cheaper than the superglide. like 50€ less than the superglide here in europe
"...un-boxing went well..."
That's informative.
Pulsar sadly don"t have this mousepad in stock in their EU store. I want to try it out
Yuki aim skypad was $600+ before this vid, wonder how much it'll be now
So sad, i check in the store of the skypad and there are no cool designs, just 2 colors and 2 designs that you can chouse (letters or a cloud). Very cool mousepad i supouse
Niall and Colten guitar vid/collab maybe?
This video didnt answer the initial question in the title of the video. All you guys did was compare 2 different glass pads rather than discuss the differences between glass pads, plastic pads and cloth pads which is what people would be looking for when reading the title of the video. If you are going to do a comparison video state that in the title rather than clickbaiting. The content can still be informational without the misleading title.
any chance that yuki aim pad is up for grabs?
@@sherurei where can i find release info?
Can we get a control pad video? Zowie does have a hell of a formula
get someone decent to review it because ur just bad at the game not tryna hate but people who arent good wont be able to distinct something bad with the pad or them just missing or now having proper mucle memory
like i get making new types of content but youre just going to misslead people
Artisan mouse pads are goated running the deathadder V3 pro with super glides on a Hien XL soft, nice balance of speed and control!
I have an artisan as well and it was super smooth but after like a week it just gunks up or wears down or smth and you get slow zones where you use it the most.
@@b0nes95yeah i’ve been an artisan shill for like almost 3 years now but the saying that they last forever are bullshit. even after washing them they just go back to the slower state in a few days
@@doom__ it's only natural on cloth. Sweat, fat, skin cells. What're ya gonna do :D
See this shit and I'm like ???.
Bought an extended mouse pad like 5-6 years ago for like $20, still popping off in games.
I'm just curious. If I rage and yeet my fist against the mouse pad. Will it break? 😂
i dont think so haha
Old School RuneScape!!!! woah
Pker or skiller xD
I bang my desk way too frequently. This mousepad won't last.
And here I am using an old school nootbook
that pad is legit bigger than my pc
they are just so small compared to my mousepad. i would have to raise my sens a lot to play on something so small.
490x420 is not small
on the contrary I am looking for the slowest possible mousepad to gain precision
Zys damage
Sandpaper
corsair mm200 pro heavy, trust me.
A glass surface to rest your arm on just sounds really bad
I use the Glorious Ice mousepad and it's the greatest mousepad I've ever used. I don't know if it can be classified as a "glass" pad but its still amazing imo.
Where animegirl mause glass?
I do NOT have the desk space for a pad that huge ;o;
Aight but guitar review when???
SteelSeries icemat comeback soon ?
Wait can you get custom images, or can I only get the femboy image?
OSRS CHAD. I like this guy
Not recomended to LoL players for obvious reasons...

Catgirl mousepad? I'm here for it
Skypad is overpriced garbage. Imagine paying $150 for a piece of tempered glass lmfaooooo what a joke
