Alex I have never committed on your videos I have been watching since before Covid everyday you are a true campaigner never negative I think because of this I don’t need to comment you teach straight and true excellent love the video on fairway woods old golfers that’s how our game goes
Thanks.. the left gap path tip worked for me too. Never knew until recently how to get there though. I finally got lucky coming across a teacher that has seen a lot of ex field hockey players like me. I turned out to have a similar habit as many hockey players which is a shortish, speedy but shallow backswing (lead arm close to the chest etc, subconsciously preventing 'sticks') coupled with very active wrists to compensate/catch up on the way back. On good timing days that is a nice draw, but if its off it's hooks galore. He made me keep my hands well in front of my chest line (felt very uneasy and unconnected for me at first) to free up space to actually reach that left gap :-) That was the key move for me. It apparently also made me so uncomfortable at first that I started to quiet down my wrists a lot too. Dispersion is so much better now, and as a bonus I am starting to slowly get a feel for shaping my drives as well. My launch monitor is clearly showing that my average swing path angle is decreasing as a result... I used to regularly hit double figures on swing path angles, now it's more like a couple of degrees negative or positive. Love this game, If things click, you get new energy and hooked again (pun not intended) Just wanted to mention that in case other people with hook problems are watching with the same past - even though I know ball-hookers are a minority.
Took this tip to the driving range and removed my slice. Was able to produce hook, fade, straight, draw, and slice on purpose. Now I can work on distance and accuracy with other clubs.
Great video again Alex. Can I suggest a video lesson idea? I hear lots about certain shaft flexes, and 'Kick Point'. All dependant on the right shaft flex for your swing speed. Can you please explain how shaft bend works during the swing. How is it affected during the acceleration phase of the downswing? And how should the shaft be 'kicking' at impact, and how will the wrong flex for your swing speed affect the 'kick point'? Thanks Alex.
Alex, Is the driver swing release like the iron swing release. In other words, are we keeping the club face square (throwing the ball) until momentum helps release the club? thanks for the video
A pull is a result of an out to in swing path with the face square to your path. Try opening the face a tad to produce a baby fade or try to correct your swing path back to neutral. I good example of how to do this is a tip I heard a while ago - on the downswing, feel like your hands are going into your right pocket. I feel like thats a good explanation.
Thanks Alex. Interesting that some might think how you hold and position the club face is cheating. Not one single mention of this in the PGA rules book… 😂
so the face is slightly open to me from what I see. That isn't square at all. Then later a closed face. Neither seems right. I'm not seeing anything useful here. I hit everything left, hook, pull, rarely straight and only a slice if I screw up completely. I guess this is a shot shaping video.
*SLICE OR HOOK! this sorts you out and it’s all in just changing your CLUBFACE!*

Thank you so much Barry! Love the support and commitment 🙌🏼 I really
hope i’ve helped your game. All the best 🙌🏼
Hands down the best information on why the ball does what it does…..so many wasted hours on the range trying to figure it out.

Just genius, what a brilliant drill
Cheers mate, this helped a lot! Drives are much straighter and consistent 🇦🇺🚀
Quick and helpful as usual. If you ever venture to the States and maybe Iowa, let me know!
What if you hook the ball one shot, and slice the ball next shot. "Asking for a friend" 🤣
😂
😅😅😅
😂😂😂 we have the same friend
😂
You need a Witch dr 😂
Awesome Alex, hello from Connecticut USA…..ty

Great question simon, i will try and cover this is up and coming video
So simple, next range session could be very interesting.
I slice and close the face like you show, but always thought it was cheating, thanks for giving me permission!
GET IT DONE!!!!☑️
Alex, Is the driver swing release like the iron swing release. In other words, are we keeping the club face square (throwing the ball) until momentum helps release the club? thanks for the video
Yeah good question i will try and cover this in another video for sure! 🙌🏼 Thanks for tuning in
So what do the 3 balls do?
Can also substitute strong or weak grip too, i'd imagine. Thats how i fixed slice.
Another effective lesson.
So is the ping going in the bag?
Yesssss
Can you show where the club goes in your lead hand and the right? I struggle to ensure I have the correct grip. Thanks Bill
Great question and i will try and cover this in another video 🙌🏼 Thanks for tuning in
I notice you use a launch monitor in a lot of your videos. Which monitor would you consider the best for under $500. I don't make the big bucks!!!.🙂
i haven’t used too many … the one i’m using is reliable for sure!
The strong grip works for me but it goes a mile in the air and looses distance, how do you get the height lower?
Could be something to do with your hall position?
That's all good but how do I fix a pull?

A while back he said close the driver face😮
Yeah course, i used so many different approaches as not everything works for every golfer :)
"See you at the Open."

Superb as ever. Love the channel ❤️
