Thanks. Actually therea lot of more event. Kuala Lumpur and big cities is so lonely while Eid because most Muslims go back to our village. 1 or 2 days before Eid, all family members will prepare for the Eid together. We change the curtain, cut grass, paint our house, tidy up our house, prepare a lot of different food like rendang, curry, nasi impit, peanut gravy, lemang, ketupat, different kinds of biscuits and other special meals. In the Eid morning we will go to the mosque to perform Eid prayer and visit our ancestor grave, and go back home. At home the child and youngers will shake and kiss hand and ask forgiveness from parents and the elder. Also hug them. Then this young child will get money from the elder.
After that the whole family will eat together, open our house to any relatives, friends and neighbour visit us to eat at our house and also ask for forgiveness. We also visit our friends, relatives and neighbour home. Malaysian celebrate Eid for a month until the end of Syawal. We have a lot of open house from day to day. Even our Prime Minister, Sultan and other leader also have their open house. We also celebrate Eid at our office. That's how Eid and also Ramadhan are very special at Malaysia

I'm somali and tbh all our celebrations are quite chill, same with weddings I'd say. But its fun and chill vibes and i love that there's not a massive amount of prep that goes into them but everyone is smiling and laughing together.
I would love to go to Egypt or Malaysia for eid too though 😊. Have a great Eid everyone 🤍

You forget that most Malaysian will go back to their hometown so we can celebrate eid Fitri with our big family then all together will go visit other relatives houses again², but now it's forbidden bcs of MCO😢.

As a somali native of Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia we celebrate similar like the Malasyia girl described we feast outside with family, relatives and all neighbourhood....boys and men at dawn or after eid salah take down camel or goat afterwards the females the prepare the main meals, snacks, teas wow its always incredible together with Eid Calls sounds in the air from main ground just amazing...and the vibes before Eid day is spectacular..., I think the somali girl was expressing her Eid in Europe or in western world but in somali peninsular i.e somalia, somalis of Northern Kenya and southern Ethiopia, somali region of ethiopia, somalis of djibouti we all celebrate the same so similar with the way malasyian girl narrated.

Eid Mubarak to all my brothers and sister from all around the worl... one more thing that I wanted to add to the Malaysian one... is that Malaysia is a country with a lot of races but we still celebrate Eid together like one big family...

First of all I'd like to wish everybody Eid Mubarak and second of all when it comes to the Somali girl that was her experience and not the Somali experience because for us Eid is especially important for the kids so we buy them new clothes and make traditional Somali sweats and kids go and knock on the door of their relatives and receive sweats and some Eid money and adults go to the mosque to pray Eid prayer while the small kids play around the mosque with each other and after Eid prayer there is a large feast prepared by the community for everyone to enjoy and this goes on for quite some time for the kids while most adults go back to work or what have you
