Well I’ve heard many of her songs and as we all can tell this girl is in my opinion the best singer out of all the female vocalists that I have been following. And I have a list of about 60
Bruddah, I agree with your reaction. This is pure, serene, perfection. Soft, smooth, warm and restful. Her voice continues to reflect her talents. Her pitch is perfect, she slips in and out of falsetto effortlessly, and an extended vibrato that continues to send chills up my spine. Nothing overly extravagant here, just right. 👍🌴 Added 5/13 "Mesmerizing" gets added to the superlatives after watching it again. More -- Sam, the change in her voice may be because she is sitting which probably altered her chest cavity, and, Lucy seemed relaxed and laid-back too. Her breath control really shows here. (added 5/27 -- at 4:00, she held long note then ramped up to next level and continues, same breath. She does this in many of her vocals). Every time I watch this video it gets better, and better. I think this is my favorite.
Oh my goodness that has to be my most favorite version of that 🎶 song 🎵 there just isn’t words for how spectacular she sings.

Thumbs down are probably due to the version choice? A lot of the middle age crowd are fans of Lucy, which probably prefer the Judy Garland version. No way can anyone give thumbs down for her vocals.👍❤️

I don't understand the thumbs down either! The way you talk about her is the same way I feel and have for a long time. She really is amazing and low and behold here comes Martha who is so close to becoming a major vocalist! Together they are formidable! I'm just so happy for them that I keep coming back to listen to the best! Thanks for sharing your reaction vids because your expression tells volumes before you speak! The way I feel!

Hello Sam from UK, now more or less out of Lockdown!! Fingers crossed ###.
So, many thanks for your reaction, which I follow. I had the same reaction as you on first hearing this wonderful cover! which has been issued as a Single, rare for her Label to do this.. I remarked that it was only the 2nd time that we see "all" of Lucy, instead of just head & shoulders, and yes the UK Guitar guy is an Artist also, new, fresh, young, and technically superb.
Lucy's voice does seem to be changing in my opinion also, so I can agree with you. Clearly during Lockdown, she is not using it enough to create problems that a lot of young singers have with "straining " their voice at concerts etc.
Instead, I suppose that with continued good training, her voice is becoming almost unique, melodic and well, something like the early voice of Sissel, a soprano/crossover from Norway. I have suggested to Lucy to consider a couple of early Sissel covers.
Re your comment about performing, well, I totally agree , maybe not so easy in the UK at the moment? Why not? Maybe I am wrong, but she does not yet have a great following in the UK, her followers are from the "World", thanks to CV19 ! I do hope that changes, but her label is still very small, and already they have a world class young male tenor, who must take up a large amount of their support resources?
Finally, yes, Lucy and Martha just released their 4th duet cover, and already more than 110,000 views in just a few days ! Best wishes from UK.

I love the acoustics in the song and the Fellow playing the guitar is a really good guitarist:-) I would continue to praise Lucy and her little sister, but honestly I’ve exhausted all the words that I know, Sam I think we should invent a new word to explain Lucy’s voice.

Bruddah Sam, wow... less is more.... perfect vocals, acoustic guitar, and video camera. Lucy has such a powerful voice and presence that she doesn't need any gimmicks. Forget the camera tricks, multiple takes, editing, etc... Lucy can sing any of her songs start to finish, in 1 take. It is as though she was singing a solo just for you. It is so easy to get carried away to a different time and place when listening to this song. This isn't Kansas anymore Toto.

Bruddah Sam, I concur, James Franklin is awesome on the Acoustic guitar. I did some checking and he has his own RUclips Channel. He is active and has singles and albums too. James can play different types of guitars, and like Lucy, covers multiple genres. He is certainly one to keep an eye on.

Hey Sam, I found a female artist her name is Connie Talbot I’ve watched many of her videos, she was also on AGT
Talbot was on BGT as a 6 year old child singer (cuteness factor) got her through mostly although to her credit she was always on pitch when singing this song and she has developed into a world class vocalist in her own right but Lucy is on a level up from her in my book and she's 3 years younger then Connie too.
Her control reminds me of Katherine Mcfee

I did not like anything different from the Judy Garland version I grew up with…until now.
I agree. I will soon be 70 years old and grew up watching The Wizard of Oz every year and thought no one could make the song better. After hearing Lucy sing this version numerous times, I don't even remember what the original sounds like. No one can sing any better than Lucy. I must admit that the first time I heard the Eva Cassidy version, I was very disappointed that the melody had been changed, but not now! Good reaction.
She made it her own. Amazing version. Beautiful voice. You really need to add Angelina Jordan and Diana Ankudinova to your channel, their life stories alone are inspirational enough even if they weren't among the best singers in the world.
