Jay said the upkeep per month is $50,000.
Seems cheap, some of the places in Palm Beach cost 180,000 per month. I would rather be in Rhode Island, get some nice breezes all year round on those points. Of course winter is rough.
I know, people don't think about how much it cost to maintain these type of properties.
I can't imagine how much it costs to heat a place like this during the winter, just that alone would be enough to bankrupt me.

As beautiful as the property is, one massive storm or one freak tsunami would tear this place apart.
Nope. Not true. I lived there from ‘60 to ‘62 and at least 1 hurricane came through (Hurricane Donna, I think). Seafair also was there in the massive ‘38 hurricane and withstood the storm well. Unfortunately several people got scared and left and then were killed. This was also why it was colloquially know as “Hurricane Hut”. This house was designed to have water drain into basement to take pressure off foundation. After Donna, we had about 8 inches of water in basement.
Not likely, I think Jay said that the house had been flooded from a hurricane many years ago, but it’s a strong structure. While hurricanes are rare, the are probably sees several nor’easters a year.
I wonder what the taxes are?

Beautifully redone interior. Rick Bready's wife Cheryl did a magnificent job. Absolutely gorgeous. She had great taste and filled it with first rate art- now it is probably going to be redone in Hollywood tacky.
