- What's up Nu Yawkers? Today I am in Atlantic City and we're going for a drive! We'll start out heading down Atlantic Avenue then head up Pacific. From there we'll drive around the stores at Tanger Outlets. We'll head over to Gardner's Basin and stretch a little as we walk around the basin and check out the new Atlantic City Aquarium. Then it's off to the Marina to check out the hotels and casinos in that neighborhood. Finally, we'll stop off at the Frank Sinatra Rest Stop on the Garden State Parkway! Jeff, excellent video as always!! Nice perspective on locations, landmarks. I've done the walk over to Gardner's Basin a few times. As you say, it really is nice over there! Grabbed some breakfast at Gilchrist (pancakes!) on my last visit. Gonna say Harrah's for not so free parking since you were driving by there when you mentioned it, although in my experience it's Ocean ($5). Guess I need to spend a little more money to up my rewards tier and get free parking! 😄 Heading there tomorrow for a few days. Maybe I'll bump into you if you're in town!
Nope! I get free parking at Caesars properties (Harrah's, Trop and Caesars). I also mentioned I get free parking at Borgata. This is narrowing things down! LOL! Thanks for watching Joe!

I replied to your comment about room service the other day, but it got deleted by RUclips, of course. Just mentioned that I like room service & breakfasts seem more reasonably priced than the other meals. I can't bring myself to order if a hamburger on room service menu is, say, $32.00 or something. Usually you can get a nice breakfast under $20.

@@richardhales92 It's clean and safe. I like the days inn on Kentucky, the front rooms have a walk-out terrace, and the cable has the all-important horse racing channel.

I love staying at the Borgata! I was there last Sunday. I’ll be back there for Thanksgiving. I’m thinking of making a trip in early October since I have off for Rosh Hashanah. We might do somewhere on the Boardwalk just to enjoy it before it gets too cold. Maybe Hard Rock again or Tropicana for the first time.

I love the Tropicana. I stayed in the Havana Tower several times, shopped in The Quarters, and enjoyed Carmines Italian Restaurant and Chickie’s & Pete’s. I enjoy visiting AC and enjoy watching these videos.
For the place where you don't get free parking, I'm guessing Borgata? Update on the Atlantic Avenue paving project, aka the road diet, it has been decided not to continue the road diet, they will repave our street, maintaining the 4 travel lanes.

How can I park for free at the Borgada?
I think somebody was complaining about the bike lanes; I think it was here on Nu Yawk. Cities love bike lanes, while bikers terrorize the patrons on the sidewalks. I think the bikers are getting better about using the bike lanes. Here in New York, you've got to be careful crossing the street, because I'm looking out for cars, and still can't get it through my mind that you're standing in a bike lane and, phew, I almost got hit. You've got to check the bike lanes and the cars at the same time. New Yorkers apparently love to have their food and Amazon items delivered fast! and bikes are big here. I'm not sure about Atlantic City. It creates problems for those delivery trucks or those who double park or cabbies letting people out of their cabs. They can stop traffic immediately.

I'v e stayed at the Borgota, the old Water Club, Harrahs various towers but exclusively the Golden Nugget nowadays! Some of the best views from GN. The marina and the deck are great place to spend some time. I always take the Jitney to the boardwalk or from casino to casino.

I don't like the Outlets. I don't find the prices much better than other places, but I don't shop at Macy's. I guess I shop at the Bronx shopping district; I only go into Target once a year! Odd, since I used to live at Caldor's at the shopping mall, but haven't been to a mall in, say, 4 years. Sad, since it was such a big part of life for so long.
I hear Dave n Busters is closing at the end of the summer. They put a ton of money into renovating the site.

Incidentally, if you find out the autumn and winter hours for the costly waterpark at Showboat, I hope you'll let us know what they're planning, and if it's open for all 7 days. I forgot where we left off in the Spring with their hours. I guess you heard that the owner of Showboat recently lost his young son. They went off to Israel to do volunteer work together during this Israel-Hamas war. I love millionaires, like Mike Bloomberg, who put their money or time where their heart is rather than just inheritance
Oddly, I make it into the Catholic Church near the Hojo's a lot. Don't know why exactly. I do light candles monthly for friends' birthdays. They're still $1.00 candle here in the Bronx; if they go up to $2.00, like a lot of churches, God might just have to hear my prayer instead. We use real candles here at our church near Arthur Avenue. They're considered a hazard in many churches. I love real ones!
I love visiting churches when I travel!Looking forward to St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans! Candles there were still a buck last time I was there. I also got a 'slap on the hand' for wearing my baseball cap inside ... totally forgot to remove it!

Th ultimate failure of good dog shows the difficulties opening a stand alone independent spot that really had no ties to AC nor was it situated in area that is developed like the orange loop is. It has multiple businesses that give people a reason to go to the area. If you look at the ACs most successful spots they have a long history and name recognition. TBG,Whitehouse, Gilchrist,Irish Pub, Knife n Fork etc. Its a shame because the good dog folks great people and know what their doing and pay and treat their employees well. The last point is now someone is going to be able to rent a spot thats ready for business. If not that landlord is gonna have to drop the amount if rent. Probably too high.

They say you can get to the 3 marina resorts thru a path, but I've never found it. I usually just stay at one and go over to the boardwalk one evening or afternoon.

It's nice walk...although I've run into a few biting flies on occasion.
You know, I never gamble enough to get an invitation to a slot tournament, (and I gamble a lot, I think) but they have these signs telling you you're responsible if you're banging on a slot machine and it causes harm, but I walked by a slot tournament and they're banging on the machines trying to pop balloons right in front of the full staff. They couldn't be banging any harder.
I think Ibdiscuss this in the last Ocean Casino Resort tour video. There was a tournament going on and the machines were really being slapped around! LOL! Its in the video.
