Ah, this map! It appears to be from an older game as well. I don't host it now-a-days since I find people tend to not enjoy CQC frag fests. A pity, cause I like chaotic tight quarters fights as much as I like large heavy vehicle combat. I just might slot it back into my rotation at some point. The map is based on Dustbowl, particularly TF2's version. The map was supposed to include all 3 stages/levels but I ran out of budget before I could get there. The recycled parts went into adding scenery and balancing the map's spacing out. There's only 2 areas with 1 capture zone in the first and 2 captures zones in the second area (bomb and core) The theming for the map is that it's supposed to be an unearthed Forerunner structure, with a mining operation spearheaded by ONI. Obviously, Covenant caught wind of the relic found deep inside, and a struggle breaks out over who gets to extract it first. Maybe I can make a part 2 of this map that includes the final area. That would get hectic fast!
I'm just curious, man, and sorry for the vague question, but how do you or others collectively host and get people to join your lobbies? Because I have made some maps but never successful hosting and getting players to join like you. Could be a skill issue on me, but I'm just curious.
The longer a lobby is open, the higher up the Custom Game Browser it is. No clue why it’s like that now, but IVOLUKE and others just leave their lobby open for a while until it’s high up the browser. Lobbies will inevitably get players if they’re high enough.
You'll typically get very high traffic on weekends. However, there is also a large floodgate of noobs I find. AFK Hosting is a good way of fishing for players if you're going to be away. A lot of times I come back from work with a decent lobby going. Note that servers shutdown after 24 hours. Host very early in the day to keep your server on top of the list be default. Coupled with AFK hosting, your server can be the top result daily. Keep your server consistent in naming and theme. I like revisiting servers I know will offer exactly what I'm looking for and I'll go out of my way to find them when I'm craving them. Friend your regulars. It makes it easier to find a game if I can see that you're online.
Ahh, nothing like TF2 in Halo Reach.😊
