(Santa Claus is Coming to Town) Original First Release on December 18, 1970 with Fred Astaire (1899 - 1987) R.I.P [Creators From “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”]
I believe target had the distribution rights early for this set. Amazon and Best Buy list the release date as November 17. Best Buy priced this at $15 as well. Awesome video thanks for the unboxing, I am picking this up as well
You're right about the copyright issues. The ones in this box set are owned by DreamWorks Classics, while the post-1974 specials are owned by Warner Bros.
You are welcome. And yes, I did get a good deal, it's that deal at target for $15 dollars for the Bluray. I could have purchased at store tonight, but decided to read reviews (and watch review like yours) prior to ordering online But need to now pickup my Bluray copy. Thanks again.
Classic Media has the home video rights to the Pre-1970 Rankin/Bass specials while Warner Home Video has the home video rights to the Post-1970 Rankin/Bass Specials. That's why they can't all be in a complete box set
I never bought the previous Blu-ray always had the opinion that while each of these classics are worth a 14-20 dollar price tag alone I NEEDED "The Little Drummer Boy" in the collection. I think they did actually put it in last year quietly but you also had to search for the correct box set to find it... I never did find it so last week I was in walmart and I was like OH FINALLY! was about to buy it right then but then I looked it up on my phone on amazon and saw that while Walmart wanted 20 for it Amazon wanted 14.99 so I held off. Bought it on amazon but yesterday was in target and they were selling it for 12.99 so canceled amazon order and got it there. Anyhow I am on Blu-ray.com and was glad some people felt the same way I did about the previous blu-ray release that they needed to include TLDB before they picked it up and some who did mistakenly picked it up were angry that it wasn't on there.
keep your old is that you don't need key on yours Mr Magoo's Christmas Carol or little drummer boy you're dumb specials Keith rolled and blu-ray cuz you don't need those extra specials the morning
They botched this set pretty badly- Santa Claus has a few fade-outs in the middle (likely from cable showings that had more commercial breaks than it did originally), Cricket on the Hearth is only in standard-def and badly compressed, Little Drummer Boy is HD but also badly compressed, there are no Spanish or French dubs despite the cover's saying so, and both discs are in Eco-Cases! Bah Humbug!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED YOUR REVIEW! I was wondering about it, what it consisted of exactly, etc. Basically review. And you hit it on the head! Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. I subscribed to your youtube page. Thanks for excellent review. Very thorough. Appreciate it. Spent 2 hours reading reviews, and looking for complete review. Now bought at target. Keep up your great reviews. Happy holidays!

+Street (Street50) Yes I totally agree. I owned the previous set and it always felt 'empty' without TLDB. I'm very glad they reissued this one.
Includes The Little Drummer Boy, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
...plus "Frosty Returns", "Cricket on the Hearth" and "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol".

+Cartoons Serbia Yep, I believe there is even an individual Blu-Ray release of Jack Frost. But it would be nice to have them all in one package.
