E Mitch What I love so much about our Monse 👑🌹 Is her beautiful giving spirit. Freddy Mercury said in an interview that when he first heard her doing voice scales exercises Prior to the Barcelona Olympic Games. He & one of his friends in the band were walking by her voice music room in the recording studio. And he said who is that singing? His friend said it's Monserrat Caballe. Freddy said & I'm suppose to sing with that huge beautiful voice, She doesn't even need a microphone. They quickly became kindred spirits & sometime after when he was in the hospital dying of AIDS OUR MONSE came by a couple of times to visit him & would kiss him on the cheek. Freddy cried & would say that not even his closet friends would touch him etc. 😢😪. Our MONSE replied & said I always kiss my dear friends 😘😍. Freddy died a week later. There are GIVERS & TAKERS in this very SAD WORLD that we live in. And FREDDY & MONSE could of given Master Classes on how to be a true GIVER my friends. Sincerely Arnold Bourbon Amaral
@@arnoldamaral7406Freddie Mercury did not die in hospital - he was cared for privately in his homes. Much of the last year of his life was spent in his home in Montreux, Switzerland … then he returned to his London home (Garden Lodge) towards the very end. There he was visited often by his innermost circle, and they only “withheld” touch when his pain was overwhelming. While I do not doubt that Montsy visited and (yes) kissed his cheek, he was surrounded by people who deeply cared about him, who could be trusted - including Brain May, Roger Taylor, Dave Clark, Jim Hutton, Peter Freestone, Elton John, Mary Austin and her children… Why was he *not* dying in hospital ? - Because the British gutter press were *everywhere* trying everything they could think of to circle him like vultures with cameras and notepads, to take horrid photos of his suffering, trying to bribe people and pick through his garbage to fuel the speculation. If he *had* been in hospital, THEY would have hounded him in his very room.
@@arnoldamaral7406Arnold, I love reading your comments. You say the loveliest, most truthful things about people. You always recognize the great ones. Thank you, Sir! God bless you! Thank you so much for your kind heart!
She achieved in this aria an expression of the most sad despair modelling the aria in an anguish farewell. Almost unbearable...... BRAVA !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Montserrat always in my heart - My first opera Norma - Lisbon 1972 an everlasting passion was born, fortunately i shared many of her perf, and after telling her in Lisbon I had the tapes of Don Giovanni 1960 Lisbon, she had mentioned just a few moments during her recital, she told me Do you really have them???? With her big wide eyes open - I would like so much a copy - So during Rosenkavalier Barcelona after the 1st act I went to her dressing room crowded with all her family and offered her the Giovanni tapes.
That must have been a fabulous experience for you & so nice of you to take her those tapes! I’m surprised they let the public back to the dressing rooms. How awesome you got to see her face to face and exchange words! I’m sure you have never forgotten that! God bless you!
Extremadamente bello! Toda el aria…espléndida. La Caballe exhibe un manejo extraordinario del instrumento vocálico..algo desaparecido hoy día. Mil gracias por compartir este gran registro. Si tienes la ópera completa, haznos felices y súbela , por favor. Saludos cordiales ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Gorgeous expressive singing... and yes, although Caballe wasn't the greatest actress ever, her gestures are sincere and theatrical here without ever being gauche. That pianissimo is a dream. Taken totally cleanly on the incline of the music.
no no it is not particularly high, around A5-B5... it is sung Pianissimo mode which is t he trademark of Caballe's singing, the Floating Pianissimi... the whistle register reaches tones 1 octave above this one... but it is the Musical Mastery with which she delivers this pianissimo and its incorporation into the aria which makes it legendary
Che dire ??? Un soprano meraviglioso, dotata di una capacitá vocale e di un timbro bellissimo !! Manchi tanto, signora Caballet, bellissima e bravissima!
I am speechless. Caballé is a miracle of nature. This proves it. She is all art.

Montserrat Caballé, one and only! What a magnificent singing and artist!
More than the pianissimo, it is she shaping of this aria that turns it into a showpiece
indeed

My God. The range!! None better, folks!
Simplemente LA MEJOR! Simply the best one!
Rest in peace 💔 the unparalleled caballe
There was only one Caballe.❤
Why don't we have singers like her nowadays?
I don’t think they get the training now like they did then. It’s very obvious!
Rest in Peace la Superba! you shall be greatly missed.

Insuperabile
Seguirá viva en el recuerdo y la memoria de todos los que tuvieron la suerte de vivir en su tiempo.
Goosebumps, never heard this from her.
Great!!!!!
she transforms a rather simple aria into a Showpiece with her last pianissimo
Indeed, totaly in the character.
Christiaan d'Hooghe
exactly, without stepping out of character at all... Montsi, when she wanted, could be truly Divine
M. Caballé, siempre maravillosa.¡¡¡

the pianissimo transforms this aria into a show piece :p... Caballe always feels the Music within her and that shows in her gestures...
Anybody who says she wasn't a great actress didn't see her Norma in 1974 in Orange France.
Incredible Singing! Thanks for Sharing
meravigliosa
Pura bellezza
Amazing!!!
Era su mejor momento. Le duro 10 años mas. Maravillosa.
Que en paz descanse!

Brividi?!!😊
Y a du monde dans la salle !!!

For me first, there was Ponselle, then there was Caballe.
