  • Entering the United Center through gate 3, and heading up to the best spot in standing room. Notice the bar is literally 10 ft behind where we stand! Niiiiiiiiiiice.

    I have been looking for a video of someone entering The United Center. I've been there only two times one for Ringling Bros and the second time for a Chicago Bulls Game which we won. I was sitting just down from where you were. I was afraid of how high I was sitting being I have a fear of heights but I got over it during the excitement of the game. For the circus I was sitting way down on the ground floor. I had a blast watching it in 2001.

    Honestly even though you can't see shit I'd do this for a playoff game. Tickets aren't that expensive, Beer is right there, bathrroms probably even closer and There are multiple TV's as well. I was expecting to see something a lot worse.

      Actually you can see perfectly. Even my 5'2" girlfriend can see with no problems. The only time you can't see is when people stand, and the only time people stand is for shootouts.

    standing seats are 38 each. each other seat is around 80 dollars and up and there are 23,000 seats in the united center. they must make a fortune since they play at least 3 or 4 times a week

    Are people going to stand for this?

    • @drewbarbera4
      @drewbarbera4 7 лет назад +3

      In general, people only stand if it goes into a shootout. Even for the playoffs people stay seated for almost all situations. Obviously when they score everyone will jump out of their seats, but at that point play is already stopped.

    Thanks for the video man! When do the gates usually open?

    • @andrewbarbera260
      @andrewbarbera260  9 лет назад +2

      The gates always open an hour and a half before game time. For most game the puck drops at 7:30pm, so the gates would open at 6pm. Now just make sure you don't steal my spots when I'm there!! =)

    Plan on going to a Blackhawks game in the near future....what is the difference in Standing Room Only tickets? I know some are more expensive than others but is it not just all the same standing area? More money means better view? A chair? Something to lean on?

    • @drewbarbera4
      @drewbarbera4 6 лет назад +1

      Brendan Maly I’m not sure what you mean by different prices, but I’d love to answer your question. As far as I know, either you have tickets that are assigned to a seat, or tickets for standing room (SRO). If you have an SRO ticket, it is the same as all other SRO tickets, so there should be no difference in price between them. All standing room spots are first come, first serve. To get the spot I am in on this video, I get to the game 45-60 minutes before the gates open so that I am first in line. You’ll notice there is a bar counter/ledge in front of us...that only goes from blue line to blue line on the north side of the stadium. If you don’t get one of those spots, you have nowhere to put your drinks and food, and I find it to be a far less enjoyable experience. Hope his helps, and let me know if you have more questions!

    @Andrew Barbera Hi Andrew... I was looking to buy tickets to this weekend's game and upon browsing 2 site's there are different prices for SRO and different sections... Where were you in this video? Thank you for your feedback!

    • @drewbarbera4
      @drewbarbera4 5 лет назад

      D Johnson All SRO tickets are the same. I know sometimes it looks like they’re listed as different sections, but there are no sections. This is above section 301. Get the cheapest SRO you can find (which right now is pretty cheap!!), and get there early. The good spots like this one will fill up within the first 30 minutes of the doors being open. Doors open 1 hour and 30 minutes before puck drop. Have fun, and go hawks!!

    You show up how early before gates open? Or right before the 90 min mark?

    • @andrewbarbera260
      @andrewbarbera260  9 лет назад +1

      Kevin Marsh It depends on how good a spot you want. For the playoffs (and for days when there are bobblehead giveaways), you probably want to get there a good hour before they open the door...which means you have to get there 2 and half hours before they drop the puck.

    @andrewbarbera260  9 лет назад +6

    Haha, well good, you won't be taking up any room up there @foch41 For anyone else that isn't an idiot, standing room is awesome if you get there early. Also, those seats in the last row? $30-$40 more than standing room.

      do the TVs have the broadcast or is it in-house camera view?

    • @andrewbarbera260
      @andrewbarbera260  9 лет назад

      LA_Hohn
      I'm fairy certain it is the broadcast, but I may be wrong. I know that they show other channels on the TV when appropriate, so if there is a Bulls game on or another important sporting event they will have that on some of the TVs as well.

    • @jasonbloomenthal7675
      @jasonbloomenthal7675 9 лет назад

      LA_Hohn Both. During the game it's an in-house view, at other times and intermissions it is either the game broadcast or another important event such as breaking news(such as the Boston Bombings) or other sports. It is run from the Scoreboard Operations room, so the controllers have a complete override if they want to. Also the goal celebration video that shows on the main board is shown on these also, along with pre-game footage. I work in the United Center Scoreboard Operations Room as the Animations Controller.

      Then you might not enjoy the fact, that a group of us during the Big Ten Tournament changed one of the TVs to the Duke and UNC games. Sorry, bro lol
      But, seriously thanks for the info its gotta hard(relatively speaking) to live produce all that for lots of fans. my props to you

      Thanks. We take pleasure in giving fans the best experience possible for all United Center events. Just asking, how did you change the channel? I haven't actually seen the units in a long while.

    They got full bar up there? And concessions? Are those seats i see there per ticket? Or open?

    • @drewbarbera4
      @drewbarbera4 6 лет назад +1

      Full bar and concessions. Just the basics for food...nachos and pizza I think. Full liquor and beer though. Every seat requires a ticket, standing room tickets are exactly that...you stand for the whole game.
