Are Steep Stadium Seats Dangerous?

Steep seats are becoming more and more common at arenas across America. They're designed so that spectators in the upper decks are closer to the action with unblocked sightlines, but are they dangerous? Paul McCartney opened to a sellout crowd at Sacramento’s new Golden 1 Center last year. A concert-goer was wheeled out of the arena on opening night after he says a fan fell on top of him. “It just felt very unsafe walking up there,” he said. He's not alone. #InsideEdition
That gave me anxiety. I do remember how steep those can be.
Arthen Yup. And I’m a young guy. I remember it being hard to navigate when perfectly fit.
I have Vertigo and I always have that panic attack when I see long stairs so I just take the escalator even if far from where I'm going at.
600th like btw but it’s like a nightmare when you fall
Indeed it gave me as well 😩😩
I hate those seats,it gives me a panic attack!
Lol that 34 degrees is definitely not drawn to scale
Yo, that's like 60-70'
Clearly past 45 haha
I mean, if somebody already commented this...
SaucyDanny your profile picture 😂😂😭
Right, might as well draw a slide at that point 😂
In a few years its gonna be 90 degrees and people gonna need ladders
And after 20 years it will be 180 degrees
After 30 years it will be 360 degrees
And after 42 years it will be 420 degrees
Niko Gaming then -600 degrees
750 degreea
Imagine being at a Paul McCartney concert, falling down the stairs and waking up in a John Lennon Concert

One of those fears I’ve always had, but was too embarrassed to voice.
Same, I thought it was a situational fear of heights and that everyone else felt fine with it. Lots of theaters and arenas have the rows in front only reaching ankles or shins if you’re lucky :(
Same, I don't have a fear of heights but I always have had sucky balance. My balance is really off so those stadium seats actually scare me because I'm super clumsy so it's easy for me to trip and fall.
Would hate to bring any food or drinks in that kind if seats because i know that i would surely spill it
Same
Yeah i had a bunch of bad dreams about being really high up in a steep stadium before. I thought it was only me who had that fear
That steepness throws your equilibrium off just standing still. So while walking down you get dizzy watching your step, then if you look straight ahead then you’re not watching your step. Now going up the stairs you nearly have to crawl up, because walking (while) straight causes you to teeter backwards thus loosing your balance.
Its only a matter of time before someone’s neck and/or spine is broken because they fell or were fallen on. And a fall down those steps is never ending, unless you knock down someone else (or others) on your way down.
Not to mention that while walking up the stairs you have all those people in the stands watching you walk up so you have to be extra careful not to fall
And not to mention impaired coordination from one beer too many
Dante Land .......😄😄😄😄what gave it away?😄😄😄😄
Dolores Boston so true
Thank you doctor
If they were really built to the highest safety standards, you wouldn't have people falling over and sustaining injuries.
I mean it's certainly one kind of 'highest' lol
People slip and fall everywhere, idk is it that big of a deal? People literally trip on completely flat surfaces and die because they hit their head. I feel like people should be responsible for their own safety, instead of covering all of society in bubble wrap. It’s one thing if something is actively dangerous, but I don’t think this is that bad. When you get tens of thousands of people together in one place, this stuff is bound to happen no matter how you design it. Maybe there’s a few things they could do to make it better like light the paths better, and add a bit of railing behind the seats? But no matter what, someone is going to trip and get hurt anyway. That’s just life.
@@CitizenSnips69 I think that's not a good reason to just accept this kind of design.
Literally people fall and trip everywhere they go. U won’t stop it.
When you seat at the higher rows you have to be a little bit careful
When you've had a few drinks, it's pretty treacherous.

I hated going to these arena stadiums when I was a child, it was too small, even as a child. I went when I was an adult 10-15 years ago, it was the most uncomfortable seat experience I’ve sat in. Never again I told myself. Pack everyone up with little room as possible is the motto for these stadiums.
Nah u missing out these the best seats at the best price. Unles you a an unbalanced fat women you should be 👍
That's how they get maximum profits and also over pricing tickets
It's likely because the rich build it, and they like to see the poor suffer. That's why they have the backless chairs (stools) during interviews.
Think of many things in the same regard.
Eventually they're just gonna bolt the seats straight onto the ceiling.

Why can’t they make it like old stadiums like when it got to high they would make a floor on top of the stadium seats and seats would be placed

Been to Barclay's and refuse to ever go back. The real issue is that if your seat is in the center of one of these sections you have to get by 15 people of various sizes and there is not enough foot space to do so. The seats in front now being so far under the knee make it a topple hazard. Fortunately for me I only almost fell 3 times while trying to get to my seat.
If your seat is in the middle of the row it doesn’t matter what arena it is dude, you’re gonna have to ask people to let you in. I think you just don’t like arenas and that’s okay

I am not rich but the couple times a year I go to a concert I refuse to ever waste my money on seats like this. Either lower level or near the stage is worth the extra $150 and not have to worry about getting drunk and falling while trying to walk down the 6" footpath between seats. The steep stairs don't bother me, it's the narrow rows. If 1 person moves their knee or arm while you're walking down the row grinding on 15 people trying to get to your seat and you lose balance you can't stabilize yourself on the seat in front of you, you just fall down on them.

@@TJ-100 tell that to people who get shot In robberies
Idk maybe we should just use leashes to attach everyone to their seat so they behave. Everyone puts on a shock collar at the door too so you can shock them if they act up... since they can't seem to chill tf out over a stupid ball doing the thing lol. I get it though, maybe they could add a rail... but then again it obstruct your view. Hear me out, how about we just add a big gaping hole in the floor between aisles that falls straight down 50 feet to concrete. Think about it, people would be much more careful and respectful if they had the fear of death or paralysis keeping them in line. On the bright side too, if you fall forward you don't even hurt anyone else. Plus, the person who is being problematic is removed from the stadium (and this world/their body) immediately. That's exactly what that Charles Darwin guy was going on about with natural selection. "If someone is doing stupid you don't like it's best if they just die." for a school field trip a few years ago, the school took us to a baseball game where it was held in an arena. i was so scared to come up the stairs and decided to wait outside the arena the whole time. the whole thing just seemed dangerous.
Same with me when I went to a game with my family

Eric Fortune Jr. Hell yeah 📺👍😄
Eric Fortune Jr. Lol and tv is free
Ayame Kajou Tv is not free unless you have basic cable or antenna and both would only have local television. You probably won't even get to watch the game on those.
I've always hated that feeling when going up but especially down those stairs at the arenas 😳😬
0:32 he didn’t faint at the sight of Mc Cartney 😂
