Couple of notes on transformation: 1: The bot mode is not complete out of the box, there are bits on the tread backpack that fold in to give more clearance between the two treads and lets them stand on their own a bit more. 2: The lopsidedness of the tank mode is due to mistransformation. The thighs fold back on their double hinge connection to the waist so that the hinge fits into the newly opened thigh gap. The canon itself has a peg that slots into the back of her waist for more stability. Admittedly though, your mistransformation does give the turret more upward tilt. Also, the hands face palm down in the vehicle mode which gives more clearance for everything to snap together.
Just want to add that point 2 there is pretty big - it moves the turret back a good 3cm and looks pretty good to me. (The tank body is about 14cm long). The proportions aren't close to any real tank I know of, but it reminds me a lot of the Apocalyse tanks in Red Alert (doubled treads, double cannon, big turret)
I give mmc reformatted tons of props. They cornered that idw nitch that nooo one has really done. They struck out a few times sure, but overall been successful in including an audience of buyers that love these characters ,and designs.
In case you didn't know, eris' head is a reference to Deathsaurus' wife's face. It was mentioned in the tfw boards by the designers. Hence the four eyes
Im intrigued by this, and im a SUCKER for clever engineering, as well as insane articulation, i just wish it was a character i cared more about, id LOVE to see a nautica outta this, or ya know, not really sure how itd play o- ELITA-1!!!! They have the PERFECT mold to do it with!!! Do it!!!!
What a beauty, coming from someone who cares about design, playability and engineering before character representation. Judging from how well she sold, seems like I'm far from the only one who thinks this way....
I would love to see them do the rest of the DJD. Since the DJD is just a name and another bot takes over when one dies these females could just be the replacements for the other guy bots.
Hopefully this line will work out and we'll get more. If the line doesn't, maybe MMC will give us some female characters that aren't just repaints. I'm sure they're going to beat this mold to death.
missed the ankle swivel, and on mine i just move the hips out sliiiiightly to help it look more natural. the neck joint and ab crunch are for sure too tight, while the transformation ankle rocker (as opposed to the REAL articulation ankle rocker) is too loose and is frustrating. definitely agree with all that. however, this figure is still easily one of my favorites. just got it a couple days ago and i cannot put it down. it can do any pose, and i absolutely adore the design
oh also the panels on the inside of the backpack pieces open up, with more paint inside them and it splits up the backpack and allows for more dynamic looks
Good review! My wife got this, I refer to it as mine but its hers haha. Since this one sold out looks like I'll have to wait for the wider release with a new Deco that is coming out next year to get "Mine".
Something about this figure gives me Nightbird vibes. But all in all I think we need some more fembots whether that be canon or new. Im willing to invite them into my collection, especially one that looks this good.
I am a strictly G1 MP collector, but I had to get this. It's such a cool, new design and I don't know anything about Tarn or whatever this is based off.
This is right up my alley, a bit moke ;) but either then that I love it. I'm totally up for an original characters (almost original in this case) line of TF action figures, specially when it's made by one of my favorite TF action figure companies. I agree with your critics on the legs and about some of the tolerances but either then that it's a way better figure then most. It has two very good modes (design, sculpt and paint wise), it's loaded with very good articulation and the transformation is great. MMC is trying to raise the TF action figure game a couple of notches with the amount of articulation they are including with both this figure and R-48 Optus Pexus (those two have more articulation with better range then most of the higher end action figures) and at this speed they are going to do just that very fast. I believe they are setting new standards for articulation in TF action figures being that the sculpt, paint and design of both modes are already up there pushed by companies such as themselves, Fans Toys, New Age and Magic Square. I know the last two are legends scaled companies but they also helped to push the sculpt, paint and design of the overall TF action figures scene. I managed to preorder this action figure and I love it. Thanks for the review Mr- Skullface.
I was hoping they would continue in the vein of Pexus. But this isn’t the same level of articulation and engineering. Hopefully we get more like Pexus.
Classic MMC, very clever engineering and something I have no interest in whatsoever. I hope it does well for them, I get why someone would want it but yeah, just not my bag, baby.
Your mistransformation aside, this was a valid review. I am enjoying my copy and she fits my G1 collection quite nicely, the Decepticons needed some female representation to mix it up.

Came to say the same thing, but you’ve nailed it with precision and care, so no need! Top notch.

youve got the whole tank turret mistransformed, the hips go all the way back, and the gun tabs into the back of the figures pelvis
It's clearly a preview of future figures to come, but I'm glad they're continuing down the IDW path.
I hope your right!
Great face sculpt but I would rather see them tackle a character like Nautica instead.
Can I like this comment about a thousand times more please?
YEEEESSSSSS. Really need a good Nautica!

It would be nice with all these Deathsaurus coming out to just make his wife. Though I guess you could just use an unmask version of this figure.

I enjoy original characters, this piece is a joy to mess around with and looks fantastic! I totally agree with you

An interesting concept for sure. Not up my alley, but I can see the interest in it.
Missed this gals preorder, may have not missed out after all

Amazing figure. Got her last week

nice background
I'm waiting for MMC to stop screwing around and do a reissue
I'm in for this figure due to the novelty of it. Only the future will tell if I'm in for the line.

Hey Bobby “You wanna do that x deux” you know I don’t speak Spanish!

Bobby "loves females" Face!

Love the bot, but those hands are they to big……
Huge ass hands
Made to order. Megs ain't gonna handle himself.
How did they miss the opportunity to call this toy CultHer?
