Located near Jarbidge, Nevada, the Altitude Gold Mine holds historical significance as part of the Jarbidge Mining District, now encompassed by the Humboldt National Forest. Currently inactive with no plans for reopening, the Altitude Gold Mine was classified as a small-scale operation during its active period. The mining activities primarily took place underground, with a single known shaft. The mine reached a maximum subsurface depth of 152 meters (500 feet) and extended for a length of 610 meters (2,000 feet). The extracted ore predominantly consisted of gold and argentite, while quartz formed the predominant waste material. The ore body is characterized as tabular-shaped, with an unknown size. The geological formation in this region comprises rhyolite, originating from the Pliocene epoch approximately 5.33 to 2.58 million years ago. The surrounding area is characterized by the Payette Section of the Intermontane Plateaus, contributing to the distinctive geomorphology.
Development: Owned & worked by the jarbidge-buhl mining co.; 6 claims mine opened by 2000 ft. Of workings to the 500 ft level. Owned in 1910 by wm. Connors, c.b. Howard and j.a. Mccoy, who may have been the original locaters.

This is a great ride! Be ready. Be prepared and have fun!! If you find a Rotopax gas can let me know. It's on the trail somewhere. Lovin it!!
I have driven by that area for years and have never had a chance to go see it. Great video 🎉🎉🎉. Keep it up
Thank you and thanks for supporting the channel..
I started up that way in my ZJ once, bagged it not too far in. Was by myself and realized it would be sketchy in that ZJ. Want to go in one of my ATVs on day
We are planning on going back, I believe there is a lot more to see!!
@@091200xr sounds like fun, challenging but fun. I do more in ATVs these days and that would be better there than a Jeep. Friend of mine and I were just talking about a trip up that way from Elko in our Jeeps, I’d like to get there before summer is out
Definitely, we have been talking about a trip from Jarbidge to Elko..
Egggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggslent video! Thanx for sharing!!
Thank you and thanks for supporting the channel..
We were up there several years ago, it was an awesome ride
Hopefully we will be able to do this again next year, plenty more we would love to see.
Wow I could not have crossed that "bridge". Great job
Thank you and thanks for supporting our channel..
I was watching that part shaking my head saying nope. Not me.
It was a little definitely a little sketchy!!
You missed a few cabins along the way one before the the bridge it was a bunkhouse and the other ones right after the bridge. The altitude mine was actually a Ponzi scheme trying to attract investors. They never did produce any gold. The insulators that you showed at the altitude mine we actually brought 1 down and is now sitting in the park in Jarbidge
That is awesome, we will be trying to go back up there in the next couple months. After looking closer at the maps we definitely missed a bunch of stuff. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
Great video! I’d be curious if a 64 inch wide machine would make it up there. Looks like it’s pretty narrowing a lot of spots. Keep up the great work!
It definitely would take some work, stacking rock and digging. Just to get the 50in through we probably spent a couple hours improving different sections of the trail. Most of the trail was great, just a few really bad spots.
Thanks for watching and supporting our channel..
@@091200xr that’s what I was thinking!! Thanks for such a quick response.👍
I try to stay on top of it.. lol
Nate! are you going to UTV Invasion?
We won’t be, have a family trip planned.
I plan on doing this soon. Did you come in through Jarbidge, or off of Island road? Just curious.
We came in off the island road..
What tablet and maps are you using? Great video and definitely looks like a great place to visit.
Thank you and thanks for supporting the channel.. I run a I-pad and ON-X Off-road for the mapping. We have ran this way for almost 4 years and it has never let us down!!
Do you have a GPX track of this adventure you can send my way? The Limp Mode Group May like to try it out!
Shoot me a message on our Facebook 208 Adventures..
Sketchy bridge....but did you die?
Right!!! Thanks for your support.
More going less talking
