My mom would play this song on the eight track player we had every Saturday morning while cleaning the apartment and even though I was only three and didn't understand the meaning of the song, it still made me feel so sad and I would cry. This is one of my earliest memories and has stayed with me all this time. Now, my mom has passed away (it's been almost 30 years) and my eyes still fill up with water when I listen to this song even more so now that I understand the true meaning of his words.
