    At the time when Brahms wrote his sonatas it was very common to use a vibrato on the clarinet. Later it has disappeared for various reasons, but Neidich is one of the few players who use it in such an expressive way.

    yep, he's great, yep he sounds good, yep a rockstar of clarinet. I wonder what it is like to study with him regularly.

    brahms is one of the hardest pieces for clarinet!
    the single notes ar not hard, but you have to make music with them.
    thats not right...you don't know very much about playing clarinet do you?
    this is one of the last pieces brahms wrote and its full of his experience and genius and you have to feel this when you play it. so just an old master like charles neidich could really play it.
    don't talk about things you dont understand!-.-

    i believe this class its master class on song because that master class teacher allways singing as clarinetist i am never see words at sonata brahms maybe he teach other edition

    It might be a copy but Richard Muehllfelt 's clarinets (A & Bb)) were in much lower pitch. He used d to send a tuning fork in advance to where would play.. The master - with all due respect - plays the clarirnet much better than he sings!
