For once I really wish they had gone with a smaller scale line in order to make these things fit better on a shelf. It's worth it to me, I'm a huge gargoyles fan, I will make the room. But it's still a bit frustrating.
Jared, I hopeful that I will get Thailog. The accessories seem unique. His paint apps seem solid. Though reuse is the norm for the industry. Demona is one of my most anticipated figures of the year. I can not wait🙏.✌️
I was happy to get Goliaths folded wings, but like say, it limits his movements. Really this line could have used some more work on the wings, make them adjustable
When a toy company gives you a line we have been wanting, you say it's impractical. It's the design of all gargoyle characters not Neca's fault. This is the best a gargoyle figure can get in action figure form. You think u can do better than Neca? Be thankful we got it
They should include the statue counterparts of them to make it complete
My Goliath is just sitting on my rec room bar because I still don't know what to do with him. I thought about suspending him from my ceiling, but I'm afraid the wings would pop out and he'd come crashing down to Earth. The problem with the wings is that they're basically flying wings so unless you are hanging them or using a flight stand they just don't work very well for display (and the neck articulation isn't good enough for a true gliding pose). My guess is NECA didn't want to go too crazy on wing variations in the box out of fear of pricing a new IP too high. And they probably didn't like the look of hinged wings or something, but we need something half way because I definitely can't display the entire Manhattan clan, and foes like Thailog, if they're all going to have wings like this.
Great review. Aside from the wings, my only other gripe is the lack of posability on these guys. I only have Goliath and it's definitely a challenge trying to get him into a classic pose ie: chin resting on hand or crouching. NECA will def double dip and do stone versions I am sure.
Oh I'm sure we'll get stone versions. I don't see myself needing those, but that's prime reuse.

Spot on about the wings. I bought a Goliath and ended up selling it to a friend as I have no idea where I put more of him. However, once the cape wings come out I might jump back in as I do love the cartoon and would love to get more of these.
Hopefully I have the space for it someday, but for now my Goliath shall be displayed sans wings

Those preorders just go in line with NECA's own solicitations. If they haven't opened up the orders to places like BBTS, etc, then the PO's wait until that happens. Why they still haven't is a good question, but that's why in a broad sense form our perspective.

Seems like is compensating. But yeah NECA dropped the ball on the wings in a good bad way. Like it was thought out but not executed well from.
In an ideal world it would have been simply articulated. In a better world, just a wired wing.
Like the simple solution for us is not to put on the wings.......but you want the wings. Also I feel the wings are too heavy for the pegs they used.

I like these but those wings are just too big. If they folded up nicely I would probably pick these up.
Yeah, it's a weird decision to have made them this way. It preserves the look perfectly, but it's obviously made some folks not buy them just because they're hard to display.
