I did a similar challenge: I counted how many monitor lizards i can find walking along the Punggol Waterway between Safra and Punggol Oasis. 😅 i found 7.

I did spot 10 species of birds in my home's backyard in the new village for an evening including a pair of oriental hornbill birds

Yesterday afternoon i took a walk with my daughter n we saw the purple heron + a very pretty kingfisher (twice) fishing near MacD at Bishan Park... both at close range. Saw 2 monitor lizards too. This is amazing. Saw 4 turtles squeezing onto a rock too. Such a funny sight😂

If you go down to hougang-sengkang river, you can find..... large monitor lizards. They prey on waterfowl and larger fishes.
Aye yeah lots of monitors in our rivers!! Actually during this walk I saw one eating an eel too!!
There are more noisy birds at HDB coffee shops from equally noisy lau uncles than in longkangs. 😂

I ever saw a crane like bird flew out from nyp pond area. Maybe it's a grey heron?

Not enough time for photo. It was huge but as huge as flamingo. And long neck. Kena shock abit when it appeared out of nowhere as it flew off. Cool experience.

Surprisingly even at long kang can find quite many birds.All these birds are local?🤔
Most are! Or come by Singapore yearly during migration season!! And of course birds like the Javan Myna and Rock Pigeon are introduced!!
