This was my go-to style back when my hair was about your length. BUT puffs used to thin out my edges because I was pulling on my hairline, brushing it, doing my edges everyday to go to class. Chile, my edges said “yea, goodbye ma’am” 😭😭 I still do puffs but not as often and I use a shoelace now.

Lick My Cocoa nope it doesn’t cause a lot of tension or damage, because you control how tight it is. And because it’s not elastic, it doesn’t constantly “pull” like stretch band would. And no I don’t use oil on my hair at all
I think I’m going to start using ribbon because when I used a shoe string, I felt it snatching some hair. Honestly, if you constantly do high puffs, buns, and ponytails regardless of what you’re using, it will cause tension and start to thin the front of your hair. That’s just my experience.
Whenever i attempt to do a puff, it feels like sometimes my hair is breaking as i tug the string to create the puff( even if my hair is damp and with gel around the perimeter ). And suggestions on how to avoid that ?

Tip for the headbands. Get them damp and wrap around your favorite mug or jar of gel and leave for a few hours or hell overnight. It'll help stretch it out so it doesn't give those headaches!😊 Because those headaches are the actual worst and we ain't got time 😭
Seriously I cut my hair because I had a pixie style with long bang. Now I decided to cut the front off and allow it to grow out evenly, but it's been about 3mths and not much has changed. Do I need to do something with it daily or juat leave it be until it's time to wash? Help me
Personally, I wash and deep condition my hair weekly with hot oil treatments. Every other day I massage my scalp with castor oil. I keep it moisturized by spritzing it with water and dealing with oil. My hair grows about 2-3” every 3-4 months but I usually cut it off
When I was a loose natural I would use a knee high for my puffs. Similar to the string, you can make it as tight or loose as you want to without having a headache.
U have made me miss my hair when I just braided ....feel like taking them down🙊🙊and your hair is looking beautiful. I equally experience a terrible headache when I use the elastic so I too use the string I cut from my old leggings 🤣🤣🤣and it doesn't hurt
