- SALINA, N.Y. - It is now confirmed that a Syracuse police officer and an Onondaga County Sheriff's Office deputy were shot and killed in Salina Sunday night.
According to Syracuse Police Chief Joseph Cecile, the officer killed was on the job for about three years. Sheriff Toby Shelley described the deputy killed as a seasoned deputy.

One year ago two cops were shot and killed during a routine traffic stop outside the little town where I grew up in northern Wisconsin - Chetek. One cop was from Chetek, the other from Cameron. There was virtually NO coverage of the incident on national MSM. There was a funeral for both held in the Cameron HS gymnasium. No state or national dignitaries showed up. It was like it never even happened.

Prayers for all LEO's safety as at is only going to get worse with how this country is going. All law-abiding citizens should learn to carry a first aid kit in their vehicles. You never know when you may be able to help an officer or just a civilian. Get good trauma kits and learn how to use them as it is not that difficult to learn. Be prepared as possible. It may end up saving a loved one or yourself as well. Respect to the good law enforcement who put their lives on the line to keep the people safe and prayers to the families who have suffered this loss.
Statically speaking law enforcement isn't that deadly of a job, Any delivery driver has a 20 times more deadly job. Yes the pizza guy, is 20 times more likely to die on the job then a cop.
