Yeah I'm obsessed with my metanium mgl awesome for anything honestly, and dude get a very sensitive rod it translates through the reel as well it's sweet.
I have a Metanium paired with the 6th Sense Unicorn MH... might be my favorite combo. Digitaka is the way to go for buying Metaniums.
That Metanium is a great reel. I've been fishing with them since it released and it's by far the best reel. I guarantee it won't be your only Metanium.

Got my Metanium back in the Spring and it makes my other reels feel like junk! You can throw some pretty light baits on it as well. Pretty sweet unboxing you got there.
Fire Perch Trace is heater certified in the North(Michigan). Colder weather moving in the bass are starting to slow down a bit, I took the Trace down to the lake and smashed 3 two pounders in under 45 mins. No trophy’s but in the little time I threw this thing it smashes. Was throwing finesse type baits along with a swim jig and had zero bites. Broke out the Trace and had them smashing. Thanks for showing the Trace some light brother I’m definitely going to be ordering a couple more colors when they are back in stock.

I bought a curado DC a couple months ago & i love it. Was gonna put it on an expride rod but couldn’t find one. Went with the SLX rod & so far I’m glad I did bc the combo is super light weight & just screams performance.

Nice Justin. I am using the 4.6-1 Curado 300 with 25lbs Izorline mono and I love it for my big swimbaits. I'm a Phenix guy so I have it on a M1 Inshore heavy rod that hucks big baits. I also bought the BFS, on 7lbs Sunline Sniper, and love it so much, I bought a second and leave my spinning set up at home. Use the lightest rod as possible and start with the brakes all the way up and work your way down. You will backlash, but when you find your sweet spot, oh man! Tight lines homie!

Love the bfs have it paired with the new zodias medium light. Works great for 1/8 oz coolbait underspin paired with a 2.8 keitech, or 3” easy shiner.

I use the Curado 300 for my deep cranks and A-rigs. I love it
The curado bfs paired with a medium light rod and 10lb power pro is my go-to Ned and finesse jig rod. It shines tossing 1/16oz oz Ned rigs a mile. Gotta love that drag clicker when you hammer a fatty!
Definitely would LOVE to see you try throwing finesse techniques, especially a drop shot!

I got the new metanium mgl 20 this year and I love that reel. I would love to get the new curado and the curado dc, but that will have to wait until next year. Here in another few months the lakes will start to freeze over.
You’ll love the chad shad man. I have the Kokanee pink color way and it gets smacked. The glides all about the fast reel twitches. I also own the curado 300 and tranx 300 and they’re sweet. I’d love to see some more swimbait/glide bait dedicated vids from you.

One more quick note on the Hinkle and The chad shad. If you’re gonna be throwing the heavier baits, 4 ounces and up, I’d highly recommend stepping up to a minimum of 25 lb test Fluoro in either Sunline Shooter or Seaguar Abraz-X. I’ve had really good luck on both brand lines with the heavier baits.

Bfs for sure! But I use mine for ul gear. Main rod is a 5' ul 2# line and no bigger then 1/8 oz.

New to the channel and have been watching as much as I can the last couple of days now. Looking to refresh all of my very old Rod and Reels and your videos have been a huge help in determining not only what's out there but what's good at different price points. Antares DCMDXG is my reel of choice, I throw the hinkle shad on it regularly.

I have both the 300ej and the 300k like the k little bit more. Better drag like 22 lb compared to 15 lb .you will need it for the bigger baits . Where I do most of my fishing we have bads plus stripers that will weigh up to 45 lbs or so I keep 6 of the 300 size reels on the boat when I go fishing. I love the Shimano though nect iam getting a 400 tranx just for big boys
I have spent more money on rods and reels this year than I like to admit. But I have to say, I bought a mentaniun dc and I absolutely love it. I’m sure the mgl is just as awesome

Expensive line BUT for your BFS Check out gamma line. Line is ridiculous tough. Considering the rock on Travis, maybe 10lb but I don’t know. If 8lb may have to go lighter rod or softer than just medium. Plus have to be careful on that Hook set. Lol. Awesome setups you got. Congratulations JR.

Congrats! I remember my first $300+ reel and now just wish I could settle for more in that price range. I’ve been bitten by the Japanese bug so haven’t even purchased a rod or reel that wasn’t imported straight from Japan in a few years. I will be trying out the new NRX rods next year though as there are a couple that have the exact specs I like.

I use that mono for my backing on a baitcaster. Works good. I hated using it, but maybe you'll have a better experience.

Unfortunately due to spinal issues I don't have the dexterity to keep one from back lashing, though the technology is much better now than 15 years ago.
All Metaniums are made in japan jdm version and USA versions differ slightly
Main difference is the handle size and spool size

You will want to throw the Curados in the trash after you use that Metanium. Ive got 3 of those new ones and I couldnt tell you how many of the older MGL’s. Awesome piece of equipment right there
