I seem to be actually attracted to this aspect! (As the ascendant person!).. I guess it's down to childhood experiences of always being criticized and not good enough..

This aspect is absolutely horrific, experienced it recently, I was so giving, loving and caring but I was just blocked by the Saturn person, punishing me for my kindness, and expressing good news that happened in my life, this video is very accurate, such a hurtful and traumatising placement to have, reinforcing childhood trauma if you experienced that same rejection from parents. Saturn is the great teacher though and the experience really made me dredge up trauma I buried deep inside.

This is true we had Saturn Square Ascendant/Pluto square Ascendant and he literally would find things to complain about me "physically" and even told me at one point I was not his usual type. I never stood for type of behavior from anyone but this energy didn't appear till much later after I had already gotten attached to him and it confused me because why would you even be with someone you felt you had to criticize, deep down I knew he was insecure and controlling which infuriated me. It was very karmic and plutonic and very off and on with Sun opposite Venus/ Uranus opposite Venus, I finally broke it off for good when he ghosted me for 9 months to go work things out which his "type" and came back only to gaslight me about why he did it.
One thing for sure to mark here would be a huge 'stamp' - karmic. I am the Saturn woman in my relationship with my ascendant male partner and I have to agree with this. there are other aspects in our synastry chart that speak on my tendency to be triggered by him because of the intense admiration for the qualities he has that I have trouble expressing in myself. Like in our case his openness, his happy go lucky attitude, his easy way of communicating with others, and in arguments it does tend to express itself as me projecting how I feel about myself onto him. This has been a really tough one. I am the Asc person and I fell in love with the Saturn person over 10 years ago. Overtime he would transition between cutting me out of his life entirely for months, then letting me back in, then doing it again. His Saturn is in my 3rd house also conjunct my Mercury. It got to a point where I would run into him in the neighborhood and we would have a conversation and I would be so nervous and speechless and walk away having totally blacked out and not remembering what was said. I never understood why he had that effect on me but this must be it. Then 4 years ago he cut me out of his life and blocked me on everything and that was the last of it. Kept thinking it was temporary because it had become a pattern and then months passed and then years and he just never unblocked me again. It was triggered by me confronting him via text about a rumor about himself that likely made him feel inferior. He didn’t even say anything, just blocked immediately and that was it. It’s just crazy because it’s felt like a giant hole in my life missing, but I assume that’s other aspects (he has planets on my south node). I’ve spent half of my life feeling so connected to this guy and sadly think he’s gone for good and it wasn’t a healthy relationship anyway. I’d be really interested if there was a way to satisfy Saturn’s karma here to make the relationship easier. But I guess good to know it’s not me…?
I don't know if my anecdotal perspective could help here but I saw an exact parallel of myself in this guy and I am also the Saturn person to an ASC square partner/love interest. I also cut him off repeatedly because I was scared of the megnitude his presence had on me. We had a really strong connection but with my Saturn eyes I had this fear that it would be doomed from the start because I was afraid of receiving his love (his approach/asc) and I felt this natural inclination to be hyper critical of him which I felt like was my yearning to criticize who he is and inability to accept what he was not - I felt like I couldn't accept it because I was being tested on whether I saw him for who he was or if I was falling into an illusion of him and "us". I would let him go because I felt like holding onto something I didn't think had a fighting chance would be a waste of both mine and his time and I didn't want us to sabatoge the innoncence of our connection. Your ability to hurt him is much stronger than others. This is just my experience, but I would say you have a big hold on him and that's why he was pushed to do what he did though it's not excusing the hurt. The karma to satisfy I think is accepting yourself and even the roles you played in this connection without the guilt or feelings that you did anything wrong in his eyes. And his karma is about accepting the differences and the weight that you had on him while he needs to be vulnerable.

11:55 this happened, I had this aspect with someone I've known for several years and that's exactly what happened at the end. As an ascendant person my experience was how you describe it: At first I didn't feel it at all but when time passed I felt like a little child with saturn person, the constant nagging, discipline (this was adorable for me tho) and I grow tired about the acting cold thing, she is very repressed and set in her own ways and in my case she subtly judged my demeanor not my appearence and she withdrawed affection several times with no reason ( I can recall one time I called her with a friend, I just wanted to greet her, she answered my friend but with me was silent, never knew why she acted that way but that hurted me) sometimes the way she acted and say things hurted me very much, but the good thing is she was caring, gentle, complimented me a lot, sweet but cold, it felt like a guide figure and I respected her a lot, down to earth and gave me sound advice, even though I have this aspect natally it was too cold for me (she has significant saturn issues in her chart). As far as I know I had two contacts who I nad this aspect with and I felt it immediately. One of them was my women friend. I felt there was smth wrong from the very beginning, the way they looked at me, their remarks, just the feeling smth is not right. I hate this aspect. Makes you, as a women, really doubt yourself.
From looking at the comments seems that I am the only one who does not have a bad experience with this aspect. I have this square with my former boss. And honestly he was one of the best employers I ever had. But we have a lot of nice aspects as well, and Saturn sun sextile also in both our synastry and composite. Luna Laguna up to 5 it will be totally felt. Asc is very sensitive point. Even wider orbs are still felt but not that much.
