Between Right Response Ministries, the Bible Reading Challenge, and Bright Hearth - my entire view of being a Christian women has changed. God has used you and others to transform me into a godly woman with a firm and defendable biblical world view. Brings me to tears ❤️ Thank you!
@ashanahowell298 I tried to answer your question earlier, and I don’t know what happened to my comment. Weird. The Bible Reading Challenge is the program Rachel talks about in the video, there is a plan for what to read each day and they have a community of women giving tips and encouragement to stay on track. It’s been a great help to me. I would include a link to the site, but YT frowns on those. Instead I will recommend that you search for, “Bible reading challenge Christ Kirk”. It should be the first hit.
Thank you for this episode! Excellent content, and a stark contrast to a certain TGC video of another woman talking to pastors about Women’s ministry (that is currently being torn to shreds over on AD Robles’ channel). I wanted to do a little cross-channel promotion because I saw several comments mentioning this video under AD’s latest episode.
I am 26, a full time home maker (no kids yet but hopefully soon), and a former liberal feminist. I refuse to speak in church except privately to my husband and I refuse to join any women's ministry/bible studies. I have tried a few and it all ends in gossip, talking badly about their husbands, feminism, and immodesty.
I made the mistake years ago of letting my wife attend one, without checking it out first. It was total silliness, and the women had no respect for their husbands. Thanks to God, even as a new believer, my wife was wise enough to know what they had going on was wrong. I had her stop going pretty quickly, and eventually left that church.
Thanks for this! Love the Wilson's, and the BRC! And being encouraged to be in the Word. By other women! Until the Word is in our hearts and overflowing into our lives and making us more like Christ! To 'God's' honor and glory! (We are even about to become Presbyterian! Both reformed and Postmil;-) Loved the part you shared Pastor Joel, about your wife counseling women, and how the majority of it ends up being on God's sovereignty. That's where I'm at right now. Just coming out of an Armenianism mindset (it's a LOT of work, after nearly 60 years!) And (PTL!) I'm finally beginning to understand about His sovereignty and His love & grace!🙌 P.S. Biblical counseling is amazing! I just started back in July, and I have already begun to be more at peace and have more clarity of mind over THE truth vs my feelings, simply by learning what the Bible has to say about my sin and being truly repentant of them. Instead of idolizing anything. Including my feelings.🙌
That is a beautiful things she said, “ there are lots of camps but one body” it was true in the Old Testament as they prepared for war coming out of Egypt. Heads of house holds. The same is true today. Thanks for having Rachel on.
This is false theology. There weren't "lots of camps". There were 12 tribes, but they made up _1_ camp. The Bible refers to them as" the congregation of Israel"...SINGULAR. The tribes all had their own heads, _but they were united by the religion that came from the true God_ . The "Christian" denominations look more like the time of the Judges where everybody did what they wanted and worshiped whatever god they wanted.
@@theeternalsbeliever1779 perhaps at some level her deduction is true but not in the full sense of heretical camps. The body is still one made up of many parts, some visible some invisible. We are definitely living in some interesting times.
I agree that you should do this yourself, as this is something every church member should do for others, especially the more mature ones. It's not a "pastor's wife" job, though she should do it along with the others.
sally ...Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. And she had a sister called Mary, who was also seated at the Lord’s feet, and was listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do the serving by myself? Then tell her to help me.” But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; but only one thing is necessary; for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” -excerpt Luke 10
Good topic, thank you. I'm not sure why it was titled Patriachy V Complimentarianism, though, as what was shared is from complimentarian position isn't it? Shouldn't it have been Patriarchy V Egalitarianism?

Question Joel….. If I’m supposed to learn theology from my husband, what am I supposed to do if he can’t teach me? I’m being serious because my husband is young in the Lord and uneducated. He works with his hands. He’s never gonna be a theologian.
@aleciawood2498 I believe he mentions in this video that the primary context for men *and* women to learn theology is in Church on Sunday. And of course there are lots of great theological works by qualified fathers throughout Church history; those are a good place to learn too. As a fellow wife who has made this mistake myself, I would caution you to be aware as you learn more, not to neglect processing it with your husband, talking through new ideas, getting his opinion, and listening to it -even though he is a young christian- just because he is your husband. He is the man you are in covenant with to respect and follow so his opinions should matter deeply to you. Now me, I still have theological differences with my husband, many of them we already knew about before getting married (not sure that was wise, but it’s true), so I’m certainly not suggesting that you aren’t supposed to disagree with your husband on any biblical question. But I have learned to see those differences as a sad reality that I would gladly change if I could. And not just because I think he’s wrong, but because it is a rift between us. So I want to do all in my power not to let that happen in more areas. Sorry for the long ramble; you didn’t ask for all that. 😅 Maybe it will be helpful; God bless you and your marriage!
@@kaylar3197 I really appreciate your response! I am patriarchal. But I am struggling with the fact that I study a lot. And mostly did that before we married. We are empty nesters so there are no small children. I desire to know God and as much about him as I can. So what I get on Sunday is just icing on the cake lol. But anyways….not so sure I understand everything but always willing to learn!
@@aleciawood2498 I suggest my short and free essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles, by God. Complementarianism is a false doctrine that is in opposition to what God actually did. God appointed a woman as a Judge over Israel. There was no gender qualification to be a Judge, in the scriptures.
Praise God!! Thank you both for sharing insights on this matter. God bless you both 🙏🤗✝️
I love Rachel, her sister and her mother! I have only just come across them but have learned so much from them! God is so good!

I would love to go to the homemaking fair. That sounds so fun!

Please pray my pastor's wife would promote Bible reading among our women!
Why don't you promote it in front of your church after singing and such.🤔
