It's Christmas Eve, It will be my 3 year anniversary on RUclips tommorrow, and I recently hit 900 Subscribers causer you guys are so freakin' AWESOME and I figured, Why not Celebrate by uploading a video, or me getting to film and explore and ride the Elevators at the TALLEST BUILDING IN THE AMERICAS'!!!!! And the 6th TALLEST BUILDING IN THE WORLD!!!!! I decided to upload this a Day Early as it's a longer video and I don't want to take to much of your time from Christmas, but don't worry, a video will be uploaded for Christmas, and YOU WILL LIKE IT!!!! Merry Christmas to Everyone!!!!! And THANKS FOR 3 YEARS OF FLORIDIAN ELEVATORS, AND 900 SUBSCRIBERS!!!! Before I know It, I WILL HIT 1000 SUBS!!!!!
In this video, we go up the FAMOUS, ICONIC, CN Tower in Toronto, Ontario, Canada!!!! It is home to the TALLEST GLASS ELEVATORS IN THE WORLD, Which are Otis Elevonic 411M Elevators with Series 3 fixtures!!!! They travel 1,122 ft high which is equal to 114 floors high!!!!! Then we go up the Skypod Elevator which is an Otis Series 2 Elevonic 411M which takes us to the VERY TOP, An Additional 345 ft, and 33 Floors Higher, making the Skypod, the HIGHEST Floor in the Building, 147 STORIES IN THE AIR!!!!! AT 1,467 FT!!!!! And with the very tip of this building being 1,815 FT TALL, That makes it MUCH TALLER AND HIGHER UP THAN ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER!!!! (SORRY NEW YORKERS) AND IT'S THE 6TH TALLEST IN THE WORLD (After Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Tokyo Skytree, Shanghai Tower and a 2 Buildings in China), AND TALLEST BUILDING I'VE EVER BEEN IN!!!!! It has AMAZING VIEWS Higher than that of 1WTC, And you can see MANY Major Cities from 100s' of MILES AWAY!!!!! Isn't that just INCREDIBLE!!!! And it has the TALLEST GLASS ELEVATORS IN THE WORLD!!!!! This place opened in 1976, and looks VERY FUTURISTIC for it's age!!!! Being this place is SO TALL and has a Glass Floor 114 High Up, this place is NOT for those afraid of HEIGHTS!!!! Let's now EMBARK on this AMAZING ADVENTURE of going up one of the TALLEST, AND MOST ICONIC BUILDINGS IN THE WORLD!!!!!! WITH THE TALLEST GLASS ELEVATORS!!!!! HERE WE GO!!!!!
As for the Elevators, 4 of the Main Glass Elevators and the Skypod Elevator were Installed in 1976 when the place opened with Otis Lexan or Touch Sensitive, and modernized in 1997 with Otis Elevonic 411M With Series 3 fixtures. 2 of the Main Elevators were added on in a 1997 Renovation, and they are Otis Elevonic 411 with Series 3 fixtures.

First time I was on the CN Tower it was "The tallest in the world" There was a huge banner showing it. I only live a hour away from the CN Tower but next time I go there I have to do the edge walk.
I remember when I went on these I was so excited! I also remember the crap elevators on the outside with Dewhurst buttons..... and also these were my first Otis Luxury’s!
This place is on my bucket list.

Very nice complete tour of the tower! I admire your knowledge of the elevators. I've always been fascinated by the CN tower. It's been a long time since I've been there. Up until sometime in the later 1990's, The north facing elevator shaft (the one you went up) had stairs instead. your far braver than I am, I've never been able to stand on that glass floor.

When I went there in 2002, it was THE TALLEST PLACE IN THE WORLD A PERSON COULD REACH. Obviously that record has been broken, but it stood since the 70s
I went there yesterday and bought some merchandise there after we went up and it was shirt stuff at the gift shop

I was at the CN Tower yesterday
sometimes on the main elevators the lights would turn off for the ride up and down but I kinda wish they just dimmed down instead of immediately turning on and off

Here's some Fun Facts about the elevators: When the tower first opened in 1976 the North Shaft was stairs, but that was only up until 1996 when the North Elevators(The Pair You Went Up In) were installed. The Two other pairs (The Southwest and the Southeast) are Original to the tower but they have been remodelled between 2008 and 2012 when they put in their glass floor panels. The North Elevators from 1996 Do not service the 360 Restaurant which is one floor above the main observation level as they were an add-on to the place. The Southwest elevators are also the ONLY PAIR that service a Basement. I didn't realize it until August of 2017 when we came down that set of elevators. In my opinion the South pairs are nicer because they accelerate and decelerate Very Gently, they take about 10 stories to reach their full speed of 22 KPH (15 MPH). While the north elevators can get from 0 to 22 KPH in about 4 seconds. The way they handled the Pandemic was Top-Notch, I saw a video of someone doing a walkthrough of the place and they actually got OTIS to make some custom panel to go on the Outside of each landing In addition to that they FINALLY put in ACTUAL HANDRAILS! That should ease my comfort level as we go up next time I go. I plan on going at the end of the month so hopefully I can get a good video for everyone.

First Canadian Place in Toronto is Canada’s tallest true building. It is 978 ft tall. CN Tower is no longer the tallest tower on the planet. Several others in places such as Japan and China have surpassed it. The tallest man made structure ever is the Burj Khalifa in the UAE but it may be eclipsed in the coming years by the Jeddah Tower. That may or may not happen as construction on that building has ceased for the time being.
Yeah, I know, I believe the CN Tower is now in 6th or 7th place now.
