  • Celebrate Native American Heritage Month by learning about flint knapping! Flint knapping is the ancient chipping process used by the Cherokee Nation to create sharp arrowheads and spear points. In this video, Zoe and Miles Lorenzana demonstrate this process as they pay homage to one of the youngest people to be recognized as a Cherokee National Treasure, Noel Grayson. This distinction is given to Master Craftspeople who teach the traditional crafts of the Cherokee Nation.
About the creators: Miles is a middle school student at Octavia Butler School and is fascinated by rocks and all things geology, and Zoe is a freshman at John Muir High School with an interest in film production.
