If you do react to El Dorado live (trust me, it's a must), please please try to find the version they performed in Tokyo Dome, NOT the Seoul version. The camera work in the Seoul one is just a no. My favorite EXO songs are their ballads and it's because their vocals are just insane. My Answer and What If are two of the mos beautiful songs in their discog! I knew your reaction to El Dorado would be the same as with Black Pearl - interesting. It's an adventure song, a telling of EXO's journey so far. It has a sequel song from their 5th album called Oasis. That's why it sounds so grand and majestic. The live stage of this, you definitely have to watch. They keep begging EXO to perform this in end of the year award shows but the stage director said they're not capable of providing the kind of stage to execute it the way EXO does it in concerts. El Dorado and Oasis are important songs because they tell of the story of EXO's careers and is very personal. El Dorado was first heard in their debut teasers and then in Pathcode teasers. Playboy... lmao I dare you to watch the live performance for this without pausing. Also, the one saying Boy in Playboy is not Chanyeol but Kai. The one who made the video got it wrong. If you read the comments in these kinds of videos, you'll see that some fans would correct them. I'm glad you loved the album!
El Dorado is a masterpiece. Even producers said they dont perform it on award shows bec of its exclusivity. It requires major production and fsr wanted it be exclusive to only exo and exols. The bsides are bop and are much better on concerts. See how the bois made it extra special. The slow songs will get you. I also love Hurt. Before Hallyu ban (which also prevented Lay from doing full promotions with exo) they got to do concerts in China.
Btw, in case you were confused, the light green/yellow green colored lyrics in the playboy chinese version was D.O. As you can see, he wasn't in the picture so everytime the light green lyrics appear, none of the exo-m members lit up cause it was D.O.'s. I believe D.O. was in most of the exo-m songs in the exodus album which I think is due to the fact that he's covering for Luhan cause without Luhan, there's only one main vocalist in exo-m (Chen).

EXO_melody it's actually Chanyeol & Kai's part. The first time is Yeol & the 2nd time is Kai. & some of those hushed adlibs are from Kai as well, with Sehun. The line distribution of Playboy she watched was kinda messed up a bit. Like the rap part, it's supposed to be Kai-Sehun-Kai-Sehun-Kai + Sehun + D.O. But the video didn't show it smh.
Mama, I'm crying as you listen to "What If...", it's so pretty but although the lyrics are sad, I'm crying knowing Kris and Luhan had already left and they all must have been emotional doing this album knowing it might be the last with Tao, especially since they all still do a Chinese version for their Chinese fans, so they are now one group singing both languages. I'm so sad, I was clinging to the hope Tao would somehow stay when this album first came out, and if it wasn't for the stupid bad relations between China and South Korea, Tao would still be there. I still wish he would come back, but things would gave to change first, like SM treating him fairly. I'm crying.😔

And my..... they all sound great and in diff ways. What else can we expect from these vocal powerhouse. Second, El Dorado! I wondered why I have goosebumps everytime I hear that song. I thought it was just the vocals and the performance, esp when Baekhyun (K) and Chen (M) hit those insane notes in both versions. But then, when I saw the Eng lyrics (this was the first time I saw the lyrics too), I finally understood why the goosebumps. El Dorado is like an extension or a "Promise" part 2. There were the lines, "We Are One" and something like "It's okay as long as we walk together" (paraphrasing). El Dorado is the goal or dream of both EXO and EXO-Ls, that they promise to reach together, against all odds. Third.... Playboy.. It's the sexiest EXO song w/c is in contrast to the boys' personalities, except for Kai when he's on stage. But offstage, I still see them as boys. And this song has Jonghyun written all over it. It's kinda surprising that the song and EXO actually fit. EXO is, how to put it.... innocently sexy? 😅 And mama Pilbug, be forewarned of Suho's solo perf of Playboy. Lastly....your hunch is right, the live performances of most songs from this album are epic. So all your EXOL subscribers are eagerly waiting when you get to the lives. I think starting a bit from EXODUS era and EX'ACT (the next album) era, they stopped dividing them into EXO-K and EXO-M and just called the songs Korean ver and Chinese ver. Which is SO nice because we can hear Jongdae, Minseok and Yixing's beautiful Korean 😭❤❤ And fyi, Playboy was a song that was written and gifted to EXO by SHINee's Jonghyun ❤
You recognize El Dorado from their debut teasers - it took SM 3 YEARS to release it and now most people view it as one of EXO’s best b-sides of all time.
EXODUS is probably a top contender for many EXO-L's fav album.. and you basically listened to EXODUS's repackage album "Love Me Right," which included Tender Love, First Love, and Promise/EXO 2014 (written by Chen, Chanyeol and Lay)! Also those three songs do not include Tao since his contract was terminated after CMB era and before LMR. You can actually hear his voice in First Love but he isn't in the artwork at all. I'm assuming next is EX'ACT? :-) Edit: Playboy is written by SHINee's Jonghyun btw! Junmyeon performs it as a solo during the Elyxion tour.

exodus is such a nostalgic album since it was my first official comeback, i preordered it and everything. MY ANSWER WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF MY TOP SONGS god tier ballad!!(though i would've loved it soooo much more if it had the piano outro baekhyun would do during concerts) hurt and exodus ahhhh the outfits they wore during concerts for those WHEW. also i remember everyone losing their shit with the moans in lady luck when it came out lol. this album will always be one of their bests tbh...
If "Promise" is a song composed & written by EXO for EXO-L.... "El Dorado" is a song for EXO themselves and about the journey they are making... it's like telling their story specially after the members leave.. like the waves, the difficulties etc. but if they are together they can overcome anything and will find the 'El Dorado' The Golden City.. or for EXO is the Crown... which they really did find and obtained and the road take take & the walk they made is indeed Legendary. All of EXO's album are Gold but EXODUS (+ Love Me Right) is one of their Album that is at the top with a crown for me.

EXO_melody it's actually Chanyeol & Kai's part. The first time is Yeol & the 2nd time is Kai. & some of those hushed adlibs are from Kai as well, with Sehun. The line distribution of Playboy she watched was kinda messed up a bit. Like the rap part, it's supposed to be Kai-Sehun-Kai-Sehun-Kai + Sehun + D.O. But the video didn't show it smh.
Mama, I'm crying as you listen to "What If...", it's so pretty but although the lyrics are sad, I'm crying knowing Kris and Luhan had already left and they all must have been emotional doing this album knowing it might be the last with Tao, especially since they all still do a Chinese version for their Chinese fans, so they are now one group singing both languages. I'm so sad, I was clinging to the hope Tao would somehow stay when this album first came out, and if it wasn't for the stupid bad relations between China and South Korea, Tao would still be there. I still wish he would come back, but things would gave to change first, like SM treating him fairly. I'm crying.😔

First.... This is also the first time I've heard the EXO-M version of the album. And my..... they all sound great and in diff ways. What else can we expect from these vocal powerhouse.
Second, El Dorado! I wondered why I have goosebumps everytime I hear that song. I thought it was just the vocals and the performance, esp when Baekhyun (K) and Chen (M) hit those insane notes in both versions. But then, when I saw the Eng lyrics (this was the first time I saw the lyrics too), I finally understood why the goosebumps. El Dorado is like an extension or a "Promise" part 2. There were the lines, "We Are One" and something like "It's okay as long as we walk together" (paraphrasing). El Dorado is the goal or dream of both EXO and EXO-Ls, that they promise to reach together, against all odds.
Third.... Playboy.. It's the sexiest EXO song w/c is in contrast to the boys' personalities, except for Kai when he's on stage. But offstage, I still see them as boys. And this song has Jonghyun written all over it. It's kinda surprising that the song and EXO actually fit. EXO is, how to put it.... innocently sexy? 😅 And mama Pilbug, be forewarned of Suho's solo perf of Playboy.
Lastly....your hunch is right, the live performances of most songs from this album are epic. So all your EXOL subscribers are eagerly waiting when you get to the lives. Until then, enjoy your coming trip! 🤗💕💕
I think starting a bit from EXODUS era and EX'ACT (the next album) era, they stopped dividing them into EXO-K and EXO-M and just called the songs Korean ver and Chinese ver. Which is SO nice because we can hear Jongdae, Minseok and Yixing's beautiful Korean 😭❤❤ And fyi, Playboy was a song that was written and gifted to EXO by SHINee's Jonghyun ❤

You recognize El Dorado from their debut teasers - it took SM 3 YEARS to release it and now most people view it as one of EXO’s best b-sides of all time.
EXODUS is probably a top contender for many EXO-L's fav album.. and you basically listened to EXODUS's repackage album "Love Me Right," which included Tender Love, First Love, and Promise/EXO 2014 (written by Chen, Chanyeol and Lay)! Also those three songs do not include Tao since his contract was terminated after CMB era and before LMR. You can actually hear his voice in First Love but he isn't in the artwork at all. I'm assuming next is EX'ACT? :-)

Now "My Answer", dear god... I forgot...of all Exo albums AND songs, this is my ballad, my ultimate love song, when I watched the live at the Exoluxion in Seoul I could not stop crying. I have watched this lyric video so many times, and now I'm crying again, and not because of the lyrics, but it's one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard, next to Miracles in December, which is a must- crying song every Christmas for me. exodus is such a nostalgic album since it was my first official comeback, i preordered it and everything. MY ANSWER WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF MY TOP SONGS god tier ballad!!(though i would've loved it soooo much more if it had the piano outro baekhyun would do during concerts) hurt and exodus ahhhh the outfits they wore during concerts for those WHEW. also i remember everyone losing their shit with the moans in lady luck when it came out lol. this album will always be one of their bests tbh...

"El Dorado" is a song for EXO themselves and about the journey they are making... it's like telling their story specially after the members leave.. like the waves, the difficulties etc. but if they are together they can overcome anything and will find the 'El Dorado' The Golden City.. or for EXO is the Crown... which they really did find and obtained and the road take take & the walk they made is indeed Legendary.
All of EXO's album are Gold but EXODUS (+ Love Me Right) is one of their Album that is at the top with a crown for me.
These angelic voices put me to sleep every day, I just can't sleep without their music.
