Song was played at my brothers funeral nearly 17 years ago. Absolutely beautiful song. It took me near on 10 years to listen to it for the first time again. I'm very glad I did.
This song after all these brings me back to a time when life was at it's peak and when life was beautiful and mint as, so many good memories hit the heart and soul and it literally makes me cry and happy as, I remember this as a teen. Will travel my country Australia and this will be apart of my playlist 100%. Oh how I miss and love these nostalgic tunes. I'm 33 and still loving it. Wish I had a significant other to bathe in these precious moment with me. One day it'll happen and it will be glorious. Where are you my beautiful Woman. I'm here waiting and ready to create some mint moments with you. Bring it on ❤
No musical experience is a-contextual. The other day, I was heading out fishing, travelling down the coast by myself. The sun was coming up, glowing red over the water, everything was absolutely stunning and this song came on the radio. Perfection...
I heard this song at the shopping centre over a year ago. I kept writing down the lyrics to try and find the name of the song but I couldn't find it. I was very frustrated because it sounded extremely nostalgic, one of the few songs I haven't tracked down during my childhood. Just now, I I finished my brekky and heard the song on my dads radio. Now that I could hear the lyrics very clearly, I tracked it down and now I'm here!
We bought a couch off nick scali this time last year. I had completely forgotten that they used this song. I then heard it last week as i entered our local shopping centre and it stuck in my mind as my husband has been given maybe 3mths to live. I'd like to use it at his funeral. Going too soon 😥 but this song would resonate with so many people.
I'm not Australian but I feel like many New Zealand kids also share the nostalgia of this song.. It got to no.1 here back in 2001 and played in a couple ads!
Kiwi Soldier here: I first heard this song in 2002 while on my 2nd tour to East Timor.I didn't care too much for this song then, untill i stumbled across it recently on Spotifiy..........I was instantly transported back to East Timor 2002 wow
New Ford Territory. With a revolutionary interior featuring over 30 storage compartments, and the choice of all wheel drive or rear wheel drive, the possibilities are amazing.
First time I heard this song, I was sent it from a man in Australia I met online. We never met but had such a connection. Being 10,000 miles apart him in Australia and me in the US, this song always seemed to close the distance. I haven’t talked to him in a very long time but I will never forget what we had. I miss you Jamie.
i had many such long distance relationships thanks to technology. too bad that seems to be what's destroying our social structure at the present moment.
This song gives me memories as an early teenager driving through a road trip across New Zealand): yes he’s an Australian artist): this song was also a very big hit in New Zealander 👏🏻
after many years of searching, ive finally found this song, and damn does it feel good This reminds me of so much Back in 04 hearing it during the Australia Day fireworks Road trips

Heard this song on the radio in scotland in the early 00's and even emailed the station to get the name of it and never got a reply only to randomly come across the song about 3 years ago. Was well chuffed!
"we did amazing things.." I heard this last night in-between news stories on 2rph radio. Lovely song, can't believe I never heard it before...just beautiful.
One of the few times an amazing song was on a T.V. ad, I remember the ad just like it was yesterday, even though it was more like a decade ago. I truely wonder how he came up with such a beautiful song, there's really only one perfect word to describe it, Amazing.
Live at the panel 2 what an album... But then that's the old late show... But this is what life is... What the.... Ten years ago I did not need a hug but someone decided to say to me that you are not an empty like her... Ten years ago when my heart finally was smashed on the ground...
i remember when i was 7 years old it was the first song i fell in love with... i loved this song so much.. now 17 and brings back so many memories of my childhood awww gotta love the songs you listen to and automatically relate to times in the past. Thanks you alex loyd.
I remember hearing this song on the radio as a kid, and loving it. I could never ever figure out who sang it though, I even put it on my bucket list "Figure out who sings the Amazing song". Tick that one off.
This beautiful song demonstrates on how life as a human should be. Being a rebel is a form of our nature. We get apprehensive or afraid by doing these things because it's against the law in a mainstreamed society which is viewed bad. We are all too wrapped up with social media trends, negative Nancy's, polltics etc.. yet we keep saying to ourselves that time is passing and ageing is a fear. What kind of memories do we hold living like this in our daily routine?? We get bitterness, depressed, doubts etc.. Life is full of surprises, don't wish your life away. Hold memories with your loved ones. Be a good moral person, be confident, be a rebel. Go out and live life. Because at the end of the day. Time doesn't matter. And one day you'll be thinking to yourselves that you were amazing which still shines on you today! ✌️☮️
This song has always made me both happy and sad at times, depending on how life is going... this song meant the best weekend...and the longest road trip home :( after many years of searching, ive finally found this song, and damn does it feel good
Looking back at half of my life so far here growing up as an adult in Oz, I can look forward with optimism as excuse the pun, My life has been amazing so far. Oh the childhood feels
As a much younger lad my neighbour and i built a 50 foot catermaran...installing the sound system was the last thing to be finished. We had no CD's to test it so Brian went out to his car and came back with one his daughter had left in his car. We put it on, turned it up....and Alex Lloyd "Amazing" came belting out in crisp clear audio. 22 years later, im finishing my own 45 footer and already have the Alex Lloyd CD ready to play once the sound system is ready to test.
This is the best song ever! I sent the link so some friends and told them it's what I think of our friendship. When it says 'You are amazing' in the chorus.
One of the most underrated songs of all time.
Song was played at my brothers funeral nearly 17 years ago. Absolutely beautiful song. It took me near on 10 years to listen to it for the first time again. I'm very glad I did.

There is always the context of what you were doing when you heard the song.
Sounds heavenly!
Heavy heavy nostalgia on this one.
0:10 reminds me of my childhood specifically my aunts house. My brother and I used to visit my cousins all the time and we made so many good memories
Back to the day when we had the 2 best male vocalists on earth, Alex and Pete Murray yet most of earth doesn't know they exist

Ford explorer. Pity that Ford had hopeless transmissions. Not exactly amazing as the ad would have us believe
Sooner our two countries are one the better tge stronger we will be
Same for “Light Surrounding You”. A very emotional brilliant song that was a major hit in both its native NZ as well as Australia
Certainly, and the video would rock Kiwis as well cos they would share the nostalgic significance of the Torana.
This is one of those songs where you could release it again tomorrow and it would go straight to #1.
Honey, I can't believe you wrote this 11 years ago
Still amazing in 23
100%
Seems it’s 2024 now
Never forget running into this bloke a few times in Balmain Sydney back in the early 2000’s
Can't believe it was this long ago...eternally cool
Soundtrack of an Aussie childhood, good times.
But you don't want to leave the end :)
Love the footage of Aussie suburbia/houses at the start...nostalgic!
I remember I was about 21 when this song came out I couldn't stop listening to it I played it over and over again on my cassette player Sony Walkman
