    Just a couple of thoughts as you are considering your WIPs. Your full coverage alphabet WIP would be a good one for challenges for Full Coverage Fanatics or Semi Sane Stitchers if you are thinking about doing some of those, so you may want to hold off on that one until you need it. When I was trying to reduce the number of WIPs I had, I sorted my list by the amount of stitches still left to complete (not percentage) then I took the first five or so and did a rotation until those were completed and then moved on to the next five or so. This kept me from getting bored stiching the same thing, but I was also able to cut my WIP count significantly in a short amount of time.

    Enjoyed stitching together with you very much! So thank you for taking the time to film :) I am really falling in love with that cute pattern.. show it one more time and I’m ordering! The part of the fun of stitching is the management of all the projects isn’t it, and sometimes you just want to have no planning at all and stick to whatever is calling the loudest. I think we all have that a little bit at the end of the year. No rules or plans just finishing up things, or do whatever we feel like. Making ‘rules’ for ourselves is for the new year! I wish you very happy stitching 🌸

    Thank you, Thank you, thank you!!! .....I absolutely love your floss tube normally, but this was fantastic!!!.
    I'm a 64 Yr old disabled lady from England with bad eye sight!! lol. I'm normally an aida stitcher, but I've wanted to get into even weave. I've been a little nervous in doing so, though. Watching you doing this at the angle you have is absolutely brilliant!!!.
    I have to add that your profession of your faith is a blessing to our Lord!! Bless you lovely xx

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for your encouragement! And yes, if you're interested in trying evenweave for the first time, I would suggest a 25 count or 27 or 28 count that is NOT hand dyed. Some hand-dyed companies are better than others, but some can really puff up the fibers, which shrinks the holes and makes it harder to see. Instead, if you want a fun color, choose a Zweigart or Fabric Flair type fabric that has been printed, since that doesn't affect the hole size. This particular fabric I'm working on is a Zweigart Vintage Country Mocha in 27 count, which is one of their printed fabrics.

    I enjoyed stitching with you; it was late at night and I needed something to get me in the mood to stitch. I saw where a stitcher who wanted to cut back their number of WIPs had focused on some of the ones that had the least number of stitches to do, not by percentages but by actual number of stitches. This might help to be able to do a portion of your stitching with that focus; food for thought. Happy stitching………………

    Hello Sarah, really enjoyed your beautiful stitching…have not adjusted yet to my new glasses after cataract surgery so I enjoyed your stitching…I wonder if working on your projects for a week at a time would let you show more progress…there is the time lost to put one project away and get another project out, then get acquainted with each new pattern directions…then as your get to the last quarter of the year…finish the ones closest to finishing or stitch on the ones that have a due date such as birthdays, weddings, birth of a child, gifts…wishing you all the joy and happy stitching ✂️🧵🪡🔆❤️

I do not cross-stitch, I do regular freestyle embroidery but I have done a few crinoline ladies. I purchased a needlepoint kit after watching your video. Kathy recommended a Colour Delight chart since it was my first one…. It’s smaller and less complicated I guess…lol. Do you use stretcher bars with yours? It says that they are recommended but I wasn’t sure if i should purchase them or if I could just do it in hand…. What do you recommend? 😊

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  3 года назад

      I am using stretcher bars for my counted canvas design. It's definitely a different way for me to stitch, but I think it works well for all the long-leg specialty stitches that are called for. I don't have to worry about my tension as much. And I can stitch all throughout the design - wherever the instructions send me next - without worrying about stitching from the top down.

    What do you use to measure to cut your floss? What is the rough estimate of length? Thank you.

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  3 года назад

      I have a little 6 inch ruler that I wrap the floss around. Most of the time, I'll cut a 48" piece, which is often doubled over with the loop start or a single strand cut in half if I'm doing 1 over 1 petite stitches.

      @rosameryrojas-delcerro1059 2 года назад

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  3 года назад

      Railroading is where you put your needle between the two strands you're stitching with before putting your needle back into the fabric to complete your stitch. I don't think it helps enough to make it worth bothering with in order to have smooth stitches.

    @TinneStitchingBAPs 3 года назад

    Hi!
    I'm mostly a lurker as I don't comment much on video's but yours are ones I look forward to every week 😊
    What if you would do both with your family pieces? Put them on your seasonal list and assign them a week per month (I think that's what you try to do now) and see if you want to work on them that whole week or just a day or 2 🤷‍♀️
    Ow, and now that I'm posting a comment anyway 🙈... I 'stole' your way of choosing colors from left to right and top to bottom with the occasional adaption of doing it by block depending on if I have enough colors to start the project And I plan on starting the 4 Celtic Ladies for my 40e birthday next year 😁😅

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  3 года назад

      I had been stitching on family pieces for 1 day every month, since there are 6 of them. And already, that sometimes feels like it's "stealing away" time from what I'd rather be working on. I like seeing progress on them, but I think it might be better to work on them in larger chunks less frequently so I don't dread working on them. I might keep the Letter Fairies in a regular rotation, though, since those have a deadline. :)

    • @TinneStitchingBAPs
      @TinneStitchingBAPs 3 года назад

      @@StitchinMommy If you feel like 1 day a month per family piece is already taking away from the things you would rather work on then a week per piece is definitly not a good idea 😆
